I understand your argument.

But, IMO - Pro means more battery life, features, and performance to work (in any professional field). Not all "Pros" are in the imaging space, nor are they trying to record cinema-quality video on their smartphones. I would argue that Professionals in those fields would used a DSLR and/or proper video camera.

Correct. We actually do not come anywhere near DLSRs or "video" cameras at all. We turn our noses up at shooting on iPhone in basically any context. We use camera bodies that range somewhere between 6k - 65k, and sets of lenses that range from 5k-100k+.

That being said, I love shooting my own personal videos on my 14 Pro and I welcome all of the new improvements here. Should be fun. Though I will not be using this device for work (as a camera) in any serious capacity.

iPhoe 15 Pro screen size is 6.12 inches. iPhone 16 Pro is 6.3 inches.

iPhone 15 Pro Max screen size is 6.69 inches. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is 6.9 inches.

A 1-2 inch bigger screen would make iPhone 16 Pro 7.12 to 8.12 inches and iPhoe 16 Pro Max 7.69 to 8.69 inches.

The camera upgrades seem pretty nice, but as a casual photographer hobbyist, if I wanted a camera I have my Sony A7M4, I don't see any reason in getting an iPhone for serious work.

After switching from iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 13 Pro and having watched the iPhone 16 announcement video, I think upgrading to iPhone 16 series is only worth it if you own an iPhone from 2018 or older...

It's now time to look into the future as to what iPhone 17 series and iPhone 18 series can offer...

The yearly iterations are not meant for the people who just upgraded last year. There is zero reason to get a new iphone every 1-2 years. These releases are targeted at people who havent upgraded in 3-4 years. I previously had an iPhone X for 6 years. I upgraded to the 15pro and its been great. You think I cared that it's not much different than 14pro? All I cared about is how much better it is than my old iPhone X.

Im in Sweden, so none of the AI features really apply atm for us.
Im still on iPhone 12, even if i want a new phone, i can for sure wait 1 more year, and i rather have a new design iPhone.

Based on rumors so far, this new iPhone 17 “Air” will not replace the iPhone 17 Pro. It will be a new higher priced model and the 17 Pro will look similar to the 16 Pro. Of course, we could get new rumors until then.
