I'm somewhat interested in getting one, even at €199. I wonder what Mobistar is going to do with the contracts/plans.

Does the current or 2.0 software support long SMS ? I can't find anything about that. A phone that doesn't do long SMS is somewhat useless tbh.

This is sad all that research and development and you couldnt fix the important stuff

still no copy/paste.. ok software upgradable..

2.0 mp camera is the same/no video - most new phones will have 5mp and video

gps is nice to have, but will require another fee from att to use there telegps service for 10 a month..

3g is the biggest selling point but most new phones that are iphone like now have 3g a better camera and removable storage..

seems like apple is getting us to pay for old technology..and we will do it..

Im wondering how the new windows mobile 7 is going to look like on some new phones..

the price is cheap enough for me to get one and the new apps will be awesome, im hoping slingmedia takes advantage of the 3g speeds

"I got his tongue in cheek humor.
I didn't get your " you are an idiot".
Only an idiot would post that."

Hooray for you...my point about the "you're an idiot" statement was that blanket statements like that are annoying. There are plenty of people on here all the time yelling at other people for wanting more capacity. I thought his post was one of them, nothing in it indicated to me that he was being sarcastic.

anyone else thinking there may be something extra come July 11?
More features via software update? Like video recording. Or maybe a [gulp] 32GB model?

Today's update was rad, but seemed sparse on the details [like exact measurements]

But its not embarrassing for them that their phone doesn't even have e-mail?

Why should they be embarrased? Everyone else is sending pictures back and forth. The dude standing by himself in the corner with the iPhone is the only one left out.

If everyone but him can do something that he can't, they're not gonna sit around and mope about that.

It's like shipping a [hypothetical] computer that supports Firewire800 but not USB 2.0. And people complain and then others say, "well, Firewire 800 is faster!"

Who cares about that if they only make flash-drives in USB form?

They asked me to send it via MMS. I can't. It's positively embarrassing when any cheapass pay as you go phone from Tesco can.

Phazer

I CAN'T believe Apple missed the boat on this...again! I give my sister so much heckling because her iPhone doesn't allow text photos to be viewed. It's embarrassing.

How could Apple not include this? For the second time?

How do you know that? It looked like it was part of google maps and free.

The SE X1 is going to pwn the iPhone this year...

I expected a bigger Upgrade than this...

so no front camera?
no word on cut and paste?
no AD2P?
no bluetooth thetering?
at least it's half price
hope it's jailbroken on the 12th so i can get one before vacations

AT&T .......

so in their release AT&T says that the profit-sharing is eliminated according to the new contract with Apple. Yet they are raising price for service. If the profit-sharing is eliminated, meaning, they don't have to pay a percentage each month to Apple from the subscription fees, should not that LOWER the monthly subscription price, rather than increase it? before AT&T's excuse was that they had to share with Apple, what's the excuse now?

$75 for cheapest 450 minutes plan, + $10 for text messages over 200. That's $100 a month with all the taxes included. I am paying now under $30 a month with Sprint including 500 min, unlimited messages, and unlimited EVDO Rev A Internet on Sprint Mogul.

Ouch this will mean I will have to pay over $800 more in services for less minutes and less texts and arguably the same speed internet if I want the new Iphone?

Decisions.......Decisions...

I wish they had launched 3G iphone today only. Cant wait any more. Also I never really liked .mac, But count me in for mobileme. I m so gonna love my iPhone.

Not pushing your button's but for real, the date that ATT had for employee's, the one PHANTOM box iphone (some, me included thought it was a display, turns out we were right), should have told you - -

Need more time to push those 8 GB touches, those will come down in price - will probably see touch with 3G someday, though these days, at $199 (wonder what it is for Apple employee's?), it will be hard to pass up vs a touch.

And, some, (grin toot toot) said .mac would focus on WINDOWS and offer windows users a lot of functionality, glad iLife is still mac only though.
