Probably not intented.
Furthermore they often introduce features that won't be publicly available through APIs until the next OS version.
Hoping for a 7.1 API...or maybe Apple is working on a keychain type deal for iOS8.
Great point. Even if you have a 64-bit processor there will always be bottlenecks somewhere as rarely does a CPU double the bandwidth of every connection. Thanks for the enlightening post.
Awesome reference. I'm spitting green stuff out my mouth as well.
Those that follow development know that Apple often has private API that eventually go public to Devs after being battle tested. I see Touch ID as being battle tested with limited Apple Only access. Once the data comes back that it's secure Apple rolls out more comprehensive tools and support for 3rd party Devs. What we're both saying is understandable. Just different approaches right?
Yes they could very well be doing that but with something like this, it seems to be a lot more difficult to get feedback from. With something like Siri being server based, they received tons of data on successful vs unsuccessful commands and could adjust accordingly. I feel with this sensor, their only feedback will be from users who complain (and feel strongly enough to post or email them). Allowing devs to integrate them would generate much more feedback.
Of course, they could be holding out for a keychain type deal in the next version, which would be way better IMO.
