I guess, quartering could mean that, but I meant quartering as is the coin.

Reminds me of the joke of the woman before the judge:

JUDGE: Why are you here?

WOMAN:This guy called me a two-bit whore! So I hit him with a bag of quarters!

400 texts is 5 bucks a month. So for a total of 5 bucks more than what AT&T is offering, you get 550 more minutes, 200 more texts (and MMS, obviously the iPlan doesn't include MMS), unlimited data, unlimited nights and weekends. Only thing you lose is m2m, but with more than twice as many minutes, I certainly wouldn't need m2m.

So it looks like we are back to the point where one's calling habits make either plan better or worse. Someone with lots of friends on AT&T and variable usage month-to-month would benefit from the AT&T offering. While others would benefit from the T-Mo plan.

since when was "ghetto" bad? Perhaps I should've said "bad neighborhood" or "high-crime area" would that make you happier?

The word ghetto has a long history of association with segregation, degradation and genocide. There were and are areas where people of different ethnicities and/or faiths have been forced to live (either through brute force or socio-economic forces) The term "high-crime area" would have been much better.

I'm not bitching. I'm pointing out the facts. you GET MORE with the T-Mobile plan. More minutes. More SMS.

You get more, and you get less. I never use SMS, so not a factor for me. And what good are more minutes if (like me) you make the vast majority of calls in network?

No M2M is getting less. And for me, that makes the T-mobile option the worse deal. I'm not sure why you think that everyone has the same needs and that unless you pay for features you'll never fully use, you're getting "ripped off".

Nopes. But the iPhone plans charges 20$ for the data plan. Plus, with 450 minutes I have no idea what kind of minutes can you rollover with when there is none left?

What's your point?

The $59.99 plan INCLUDES data, no extra charge. The $39.99 plan includes no data. Once you do an apples to apples comparison, they're about the same price.

And does the 39.99 plan include free in-network calls?

I think the individual plans are awesome. But what's up with the family plans. The iPhone family plan only comes with one line (instead of two like the rest of AT&T plans)? And it's 29.99 for another iPhone (again, different: only 9.99 for the other plans)? LAME!!!

I'm not bitching. I'm pointing out the facts. you GET MORE with the T-Mobile plan. More minutes. More SMS.

But I'm done. You all are too obsessed with this stupid phone. Have fun paying out the arse and dropping calls every minute. Its a sad day to be a Mac user, I hate being associated with the stupidity observed in this thread.

Pointing out facts? Dropping calls on AT&T versus T-Mobile?? You have lost your mind. I recently swtiched to AT&T from Verizon and they both have great networks, I have not dropped a call in 3 months on the AT&T network.

T-Mobile is bottom of the barrel dude. Low-cost provider. There are your facts that you can't point out because you are somehow blind to the obvious.

And speaking of obvious.. you are in a thread ABOUT THE IPHONE and touting T-Mobile. What are the latest facts on T-Mobile offering the iPhone..?

Ohhhhhh, facts? I see.

i was until I saw that

Don't worry, I'll be back Friday saying "I told you so" in all of the "What the hell? I just switched to ATT and dropped 4 calls tonight" threads.

Morning Sunshine!

Sure. It was just little old me that "made you post"...

See you Friday.

Toodles!

XOXOXOX

unlocked to iphone

what happens if I am using an unlocked phone with ATT sim on a family plan? Can I just get the iphone and replace my old phone by inserting in my old sim card?

Then please post comparable plans. Your previous comparision was disingenuous.

(and I DO have leftover minutes each month so your usage != usage of everyone else.)

But, I am posting comparable plans. The 59.99 is a conglomerated plan. Listen you remove 20$ for the data from 59.99-20.00 you get 39.99 for the voice. I really hope in all this glitter of the iPhone which someone would pay 500/600 dollars for it all boils down to the cellphone and voice calls. Now with one provider I get 450 minutes and the other more than double! Plus, I don't have to shell out after paying 500/600 additional 20$ to support the phone's features. Just thinking...

The 29.99 includes unlimited data for the second plan, so it's really the same $9.99 plus 20 for the data. Do they include unlimited data for 9.99 on any other phone?

First, ignoring the data is nonsensical.

Second, does the 39.99 plan include unlimited in-network calls?

Third, if you have a phone with data support, how exactly do you imagine you can "support the phone's features" without paying extra for data?

Annnnnndddddddd....

T-mobile...the absolute BOTTOM of the "big 4" STILL isn't getting the iPhone.

You know..it must be nice to be so young...getting twisted up by things you cannot change or effect...so much *angst und lust*...

Now...the question is tho, will you truly be mature enough to walk away from this and all other "Yay! iPhone!!" threads as you have stated...

i think someone made a great point...

perhaps tmobile better fits you, but that doesnt mean it fits EVERYONE better...

are all 50 million att subscribers "idiots" ????????

i think its safe to say that your the idiot

I'm not bitching. I'm pointing out the facts. you GET MORE with the T-Mobile plan. More minutes. More SMS.

Dude...they changed their slogan from "Get More" a year or two ago. It's now "Stick Together" Next year it will be "Circle the wagons" and the year after that it will be "Go down with the ship".

I see your point. But so far it looks like the data can not be removed from the iPlan. Maybe after a month ATT people will allow people to do that. We shall see.

But all this is meaningless to me since T-Mobile could be 99cents a month for 1000 minutes but it still won't support the phone I plan on buying this Friday.

First, ignoring the data is nonsensical.

Second, does the 39.99 plan include unlimited in-network calls?

No, but it can be done with additional 4.99. It comes with free national and roaming (guess what on the cingular network!) a free phone and paying 10 bucks additional I can talk to any 5 numbers for free!

If done like AIM on other carriers, a single send could be any where from 1 to many SMS messages, depending on how much data is sent. I forget what the limit is, but a single SMS message can only contain a fairly small amount of data.

Don't forget incoming SMS messages count just like outgoing, at least they do on my Verizon account now. I get billed for every message I send, and every message I receive.

i was until I saw that

Don't worry, I'll be back Friday saying "I told you so" in all of the "What the hell? I just switched to ATT and dropped 4 calls tonight" threads.

The funny thing is I don't really like the iPhone. Unless I get one with a 80 or 120 gb drive, I would still end up carrying around 2 devices, so I am not getting one.

The problem is you were using fuzzy math.

But the "at&t sucks", "no, Verizon sucks", "no t-mobile sucks" is pointless.
Get which ever one works best for your life. Me, I have cingular and drive all around new england. Have not dropped a call since I got a Sony Ericsson W810 last year. With the POS Motorola V600 before I dropped some, but that was the phone. My wife's Nokia would work in the same spot on the same network, so I don't blame the carrier for that.

OK, I believe you can get 1,000 minutes for the same price with free N&W, still twice as many minutes as AT&T

So because AT&T has the iPhone, it makes it OK for them to offer you half of what their competition does for the same price?

Think outside the box here for a minute. You're getting screwed any way you look at it. So what if you get a fancy phone. It's the principle of the thing. AT&T has you bent over and you're willingly accepting it just so you get to use the latest overpriced POS phone.

no it's not

Worthless, it looks like you are some kind of frustrated person who can't have a life in any scenario and who is given to complaining. Or you are trolling! So go and spend your negative energy somewhere else.

Why do you insist on trolling every iPhone thread with this worthless drivel? The OVERWHELMING majority of the people here think these plans are awesome. Why don't you go write about how stupid we all are on your blog instead of lowering yourself to posting here with us uninformed terrible excuse for consumers?

EXACTLY

may it would be a good idea for you to join John Dvorak team! :D

I've been looking for the family plans. Where did you find them?
