Wow, I can't wait to hold one of these in person...

No, actually, I CAN wait.

But it'd be nicer if I didn't have to.

SEXAY, indeed!!!

It only supports USB 2.0. But backward compatible with USB 1.1.

For people (like me)without USB 2.0. So with 1G of music, you're looking at approx. a 83 min wait.

Happy Happy that there are new products to play with.
Relieved that today was not just about the stupid phone.
I can see pros and cons to the nano - aesthetically it is elegant, and very in line with the other products available, Not groundbreaking, but consistent and looks good. Form to function, it may be too small for the phat fingered ones.

I can't believe after 13 pages of threads no one has mentioned the best feature (or at least in the mind of a runner):

THe Stopwatch and Lap counter! Just yesterday I was running and thinking about how Apple has never done this. This is VERY big for people who work out - it's what the Shuffle and Mini were missing.

Just ordered mine

I Have two green iPod minis and now I will have a black iPod nano with the inscription: "There is no spoon."

Daddy likes.

I agree completely. It's the one thing I bought my mini for-- but it really didn't deliver on. It's wonderful, but it's not as light and small as the nano. Those stopwatch and lap features are ESSENTIAL for people who exercise a lot (myself included.)

Just ordered a black one. Off to the gym for me ... wish I had my nano.

Wow, I really like the looks of the nano. But why no firewire support? I'm still cranking on my G3 with USB 1.1 w/ Firewire.

Sigh... :(

Just load up your nano before bed, seems like that's our only choice.:( GO MINI!

Does anyone know if this will work with the iPod Camera Connector? The Apple website shows the camera connector works only with iPod with Color Display, so it seems the answer is no. But since this one holds photos, I just wasn't sure.

The specs on the Apple website indicate that charging is via USB or FireWire to computer system or power adaptor. Maybe an old firewire cable will work for syncing as well then?

The specs on Apple's website say connectivity through USB (USB 2.0 recommended). Charging isn't the problem, transferring songs is.

Im not impressed either...Here is my view,

1. I really liked color minis. (have a green and loving it!)
2. I believe (since I haven't seen it up close and personal) that the size is too small. I feel comfortable with the size of the mini as is
3. You really do get 2 less GB for the same money
4. Color screen not really a must. More like an extra feature
5. I think that aluminium looks sleeker and is more durable
6. No firewire

Overall Im happy my aunt got me a mini as a present few weeks ago! :D

It does say that USB 2.0 is recommended meaning it will work with USB 1.1. But I agree its a shame no native firewire connectors. My Cube still has plenty of life left!

at first it looks stunning, but the more i look at the nano, the less i like it. Sure it's awesome to be that thin but it's too enlongated for my taste. The screen could be a little lower, and that nubby thing below the wheel looks silly. It reminds me of an airhead taffy thing with a screen... :(

I think it is designed to be worn around the neck rather than used as the original iPod. This way the headphone location and the elongated shap make sense.

Should i wait for the iPod Video...?

iCan't resist....iWant to click the buy button....WHAT CAN iDO

firewire

Exactly, what the heck has happened to firewire these days? No doubt it will creep out that nano is compatible. But it would be great if on the specs Apple just said 'supports firewire' or 'does not support firewire' instead of it being a guessing game. Just like they should say 'suports USB 1.1 but at slower rate of data transfer'. Or something like that...

wow...i really like it...it seems, though, that the wheel may be a little small and so is the screen but i guess that is the point?? i am also wondering how sharp the screen is gonna look but hey, Good Bye iPod Suffle!!
