All 4Gb Nanos sold out in the HK Apple store in minutes. They didn't sell ONE 2Gb until all of the 4Gigs were gone. Price diff here is only $48USD.

I can believe that... the 2gb seems like it is going to be pretty unpopular. 4gb has seemed, since the original mini, to be a sweet spot. If they had managed to get the 2gb down to $149, maybe even $179, they would have sold them, I think but...

Headphones

Does anyone have any ideas as to what headphones I should purchase? I'm not a big fan of the headphones that come with the iPod, and I'm willing to spend anywhere up to 150 bucks. Thanks!

Yep, I'm guilty of that. Got my Nanos and one of the last Silver 6Gb Mini's 'cause they are going fast.

Anyone know if the price of the mini has been reduced in Apple Stores? The Birmingham store had a lot on display today but I couldn't see prices.

LOADS of people were walking out with a Nano though. The place was heaving with people today.

I'm using my Etymotic ER-6i earphones with my ipod mini, if you don't mind ear canal-earphones then they're great. Though they do have a VERY flat response frequency, and after using the standard earbuds it can sound a bit tinny, but after a couple of uses you should really appreciate the clarity.

They're only $149.99 at the U.S. Apple store, though I'm sure you can get a better price somewhere local :)

Just got mine at the Apple Store, Bluewater (UK).

They has loads of them!

2 GB White one.

I noticed that it was shipped Windows formatted, last time I got an iPod they were Mac formatted.

can anybody tell me if the nano's sound quality is as good as the shuffles or big iPods? The 1. Gen iPod mini was a little bit weaker than normal iPods... everytime I change the from the normal to mini, I hear the differences

I got my 4GB black nano yesterday from Regent Street. From some quick listening, the sound quality sounds the same to me as the shuffle.

I got a brand new 4Gb silver iPod mini for £28.00 (after £100.00 rebate) from the UK Apple store for education!!!!
It was on offer together with my girlfriend's new 12" iBook :D

Now that's what i call a bargain!!! ;)

Just got my 2gb black one from Bluewater store, very very nice indeed. Store was packed out, seems like Apple will make good business out of this.

Just got a 4gb black, and a 2gb white model for my girl from the local Best Buy. The place was insaaaaaane! People were cutting each other off to get to the front off the line, where the manager was handing them out from a glass cabinet. I think this may go down as the fastest selling device in consumer electronics history!

Mine was converted to HFS+ when I first connected it - "optimizing for Mac" they call it.

I've ordered up some Shure e2c's (~£60), a guy at work has them and says they're superb.

I had a pair of e2c's and i found that they were good when I wore the cable down the back of my neck (as recommended), but I didn't like that, so I tried the "normal" way, and they didn't sound so good, it must be that their shape is designed to be worn the recommended way.

I think anything Etymotic or Shure is a good buy!

What will happen to the accesories that connect to the audio jack and the other small connection the minis and normal iPods have (like the iTrip)?

It's Lynx for iPods.

Strange, my tracking number works for TNT, and is showing MY order received by them on 9/9/05, but the Lynx page can't find anything.

I hadn't been told anything about a specific courier by Apple, so i thought I'd give TNT a try.

I ordered two 4GB nanos, one black, one white (one for me, one as a gift). I can understand the rush at Best Buy...this is the way a product should be designed! Someone at Apple is going to win another design of the year award.

I am impressed. I can't really think of anything more to say at this point. I kinda of guessed that flash drives would get big enough to fit into this slot in the lineup, but I didn't think that it would the final product would be so cool.

My MiniPod is holding up just fine. And I don't see giving it up anytime soon, I haven't been good at letting go of my old Apple products so far. I have something really cool to look forward to though.

Bring on the 23" iMac (in about 2 or 3 years) please/thankyou.

Picked mine up a couple days ago, and am absolutely loving it. It's so tiny and really portable in ways other iPods (barring the shuffle) haven't been. It's also a blast to have your photos with you when you're bored.

The display is brilliant and it's great to have a tiny iPod where nothing has been skimped on!

I've also got to say that having a headphone jack on the bottom of the unit is turning out to work incredibly well. I find in almost every situation I'm either hooking it up to my A/V unit or having it in my pocket it just works! Now I've got to eat granola all month to afford my purchase

Only USB 2.0 ???

I have to admit, I'm smitten by the Nano - I want one and I want it now. BUT, it only syncs with USB 2.0. I have a Revision A 12" PB: it doesn't have USB 2.0! So if I buy the Nano I have to buy a new laptop too; I can't afford that now. Why did Apple discard Firewire support? Grrr.

Am I wrong? Can anyone tell me if there's a way to use the Nano with my current laptop?

People have it so easy today. My last flash-based player was half the size of the nano and thinner, but only held 256MB of memory.
