I hope they revert to the old look of iTunes for both the OSX and iPad OS!

um... no more iTunes. So... nothing to change the look back to. Separate music, tv, podcast apps and sync functions built into Finder now.

The iTunes Music store will remain alive, located in the Apple Music app, for those users who still prefer to own their music.

Yes I prefer to own the media I pay money for ******s.

I wonder how long Apple will even offer a lifeline to those of us who do archaic things like keep an offline copy of the music we bought, create our own playlists based on track ratings, etc.

Clearly they think we're dinosaurs.

Whats the deal with Sidecar 'supported apps'? I'd figure it gets sisytem wide use? Looks like Apple's gone for a more custom approach though? I don't see Photoshop listed... looks like they're still hedging bets on the bonafide iOS (iPadOS) version?

I hope side car will have more functions, love to drop Wacom and it's buggy software and how expensive it has become.

Can someone confirm that our current iTunes libraries will port over? i.e. playlists and folder structures. I have thousands of them built up over 18 years. It would be nearly impossible to recreate. I have playlists in folders and subfolders. I would be seriously screwed if the answer is, 'no."

I believe so. On Apple's website it says "And rest assured; everything you had in your iTunes library is still accessible in each app."

For Wndows & those with older versions of macOS the iTunes store will stay the same (and for those who want to purchase their music)

Has anyone confirmed yet if this beta completely blocks the loading of the older "This app needs to be updated" 32 bit apps yet? I am going to really have to think about loosing my old app support.

That's a relief, I was afraid they were going to ditch owned music altogether. Which is 110% NOT MY THING, so good.

Just wondering what they're going to do on the PC. Surely they're not making it all Mac-only, as that would be suicide especially with how expensive (and crap) Macs are now?

Exactly. Now if only they'd sell music in 320Kbps, FLAC or ALAC for download it would be great. Offer customers the option so they can buy whichever one they want.

What is the version of Time Machine in macOS 10.15 Catalina? Time Machine 2? Does it support APFS disks?

That's what I want to know as well.

That's why I came here also, guessing too many loyal iTunes Match subscribers like myself to ditch it.

Today's Keynote was excellent, last couple years have been pretty brutal IMO. They did not address iTunes enough for the hype of its demise. I also think iPadOS should have introduced multiple user accounts, especially since TVOS did.

Since this Mac OS update is called catalina, it’s a reap shame they didn’t name ios 13 “ios Claude” and ipad os “ipad os CJ”.

Get the GTA reference?
