Am I the only one who barely gets to see my desktop? It's not because I fill it with icons, files and shortcuts but because I always tend to have apps open covering the desktop. Putting widgets on my desktop would make them less accessible than the command centre. I'm not using them much when they are in the command centre either, but this won't improve anything for me. It's good that it allows users to use widgets in other ways.

It's the same for me on my work Mac: multiple spaces with tiled windows filling the whole screen. I barely ever even see the wallpapers. Perhaps these widgets are more useful on a personal Mac where there is less going on simultaneously, at least for me.

The widgets are not for me. I like to keep my desktop completely clear. Notification bar is fine for widgets. 🥸

Quite excited for the game mode and those :apple:TV screensaver videos tho! 😍

Why does Beth Dakin make me think about Rachael in Blade Runner? 🤷‍♂️

Normally I'd say that I'm thrilled that the updates are so minor, but there is much work that needs to be done. Music needs worked on, Finder could use some work, the overall bugginess of the OS must be rectified. Hopefully this one is smooth sailing, but Apple has not given me much reason to believe it will be.

For the most part if everything is in order I'd rather it all be left alone. Do not reinvent the wheel.

Into of screensavers and transparent widgets. They getting ready for OLED monitors and are already laying down the software for burn-in prevention.

Yea, how are those different from tab groups exactly?..
Completely separate bucket of cookies/localstorage/bookmarks/sessions/history/etc, I would assume (if it's anything like profiles on Firefox, Chromium browsers, Orion, etc)

Ok, right history is important. I wonder if settings can also be changed, beyond cookies etc.

If only there had been a way to run desktop widgets back ten years ago…
Only ten? Windows 95's "Active Desktop" (which was an update released in... I want to say 1997) added something widgety. They were horrendously slow :)

Wow, widgets on the desktop! What is this, 2006?
Those 2 minute presentation of the widget feature felt like a complete parody, complete with an Apollo punchline.

"So I can see my Apollo, for Reddit!" No, you can't, it won't be around anymore.
