The IMAX app sounds promising if it means I could watch/stream/rent an IMAX file and not make a trip down to the museum to see it. That's a unique perk of this product... but not at $3500. An IMAX movie ticket with museum membership is $5 ;)

Wait. What? The resident marketing experts who post in these forums declared unequivocally that developers wouldn’t touch the Vision Pro with a 10ft pole. Netflix said no so that’s that, right?

Looks neat for gamers. Hopefully by v3 or v4 there will be productivity apps with real VR/AR benefits other than the HOOGE DISPLAY... ain't spending $3,500+ for this as I'm not a gamer.

I’m guessing most of them are essentially iPad apps that have been ported to Vision Pro without any real changes. As a developer, I don’t think I’d worry about converting my apps to Vision Pro anytime soon after watching the reviews.
It does appear that the Microsoft 365 apps are closer to their iPad equivalents than their Mac equivalents. Though that raises another issue with me. Even the iPad 10 is powerful enough to run versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint that are basically as functional as the Mac versions.

Ok this has my interest! I am an MLB subscriber and watch or listen to about 150 games a season. Having this in AR/VR would be alot of hours of usage. I do not live anywhere near my favorite team's market, so if I could have this? I can even imagine maybe in the future a "pick your seat" kind of option where you could pick a section to watch the game from.

I’m stumped that Netflix is still planning to hold off on this major platform launch when clearly Disney is making it happen.
Major platform? When did that happen? They’ve only sold 200 thousand Vision Pros according to rumours, so far.

Netflix has 247 million users, so is probably unbothered by the current blip that Vision Pro is.

Disney jumped on board most likely because Jobs was a majority shareholder in Pixar back in the day.

I agree but as in the past those who make it first to the table tend to do best. Early bird often gets the worm.
And companies that took the thanks, but no thanks will look like bigger and bigger fools as time goes on.

More like one company is more visionally ...

All gimmicks
Not sure I call MS office a gimmick.

Why on earth would anyone use Office 365 apps on a Vision Pro? I just don't see the use case.

You'd look retarded trying to type an XLOOKUP formula using that thing, or even just trying to resize elements on a slide.
You clearly never worked on multiple items at the same time. Being able to put the in space seems very useful.

Are we able to create custom immersive backgrounds or is it only canned backgrounds?
Developers Wallpaper designers will be able to create immersive backgrounds and you’ll be able to them Apple Immersion Store™ - your safe and trusted destination focused on bringing you amazing immersive experiences with backgrounds carefully crafted, curated and handpicked for your Vision Pro.

And it’s only a small 30% commission for any immersive background developer. That’s a real steal compared to the olden days of setting up your own wallpaper manufacturing plant and/or contracting with a professional printing company, and distributing it through home improvement stores. Let alone do all the payment processing yourself.

I don’t care about any of those apps. What I’d need, as long as it only supports a single Mac display (with a resolution that different reviewers don’t seem to agree on) is a native Terminal app.

A prism correction app would be good too, but there could be a few different ways I may be able to compensate without it, which I hope to test if I can get an in store demo this weekend.

I’m pretty sure that Netflix and YouTube’s bottom lines aren’t going to be affected in the slightest by not creating apps for Vision Pro right now.

I’m also pretty sure they will arrive at some point, at a later date. Not much point getting your knickers in a twist about it.

It makes sense for Apple to get Disney on board, what with its plethora of 3D content.
