The IMAX app sounds promising if it means I could watch/stream/rent an IMAX file and not make a trip down to the museum to see it. That's a unique perk of this product... but not at $3500. An IMAX movie ticket with museum membership is $5
And it’s less than 0.03 % of the number of iPhone apps.Wow that’s 3x more than what the media was reporting. Great!
It’s more like a dozen for me. Alt+Tab >>> having to turn my neck in all directions.Imagine having like 6 excel/word/pdfs etc windows open simultaneously for work?
Reviews have shown that anyone’s fingers pinching works. The AVP doesn’t distinguish the wearers fingers specifically. What happens if someone comes up behind you and starts waving their hands and pinching their fingers in front of your iGoggles?
It does appear that the Microsoft 365 apps are closer to their iPad equivalents than their Mac equivalents. Though that raises another issue with me. Even the iPad 10 is powerful enough to run versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint that are basically as functional as the Mac versions.I’m guessing most of them are essentially iPad apps that have been ported to Vision Pro without any real changes. As a developer, I don’t think I’d worry about converting my apps to Vision Pro anytime soon after watching the reviews.
I think the 4K-equivalent screen may be the limiting factor at first.Imagine having like 6 excel/word/pdfs etc windows open simultaneously for work? Amazing productivity
Major platform? When did that happen? They’ve only sold 200 thousand Vision Pros according to rumours, so far.I’m stumped that Netflix is still planning to hold off on this major platform launch when clearly Disney is making it happen.
And companies that took the thanks, but no thanks will look like bigger and bigger fools as time goes on.I agree but as in the past those who make it first to the table tend to do best. Early bird often gets the worm.
More like one company is more visionally ...Major platform? When did that happen? They’ve only sold 200 thousand Vision Pros according to rumours, so far.
Netflix has 247 million users, so is probably unbothered by the current blip that Vision Pro is.
Disney jumped on board most likely because Jobs was a majority shareholder in Pixar back in the day.
Not sure I call MS office a gimmick. All gimmicks
You clearly never worked on multiple items at the same time. Being able to put the in space seems very useful. Why on earth would anyone use Office 365 apps on a Vision Pro? I just don't see the use case.
You'd look retarded trying to type an XLOOKUP formula using that thing, or even just trying to resize elements on a slide.
The only down side for me is not being able to download shows / movies for offline consumption. Other than that, yeah everything else is perfectly fine through the browser.I doubt I’ll be missing anything from using Netflix as an app.
Are we able to create custom immersive backgrounds or is it only canned backgrounds?
I’m pretty sure that Netflix and YouTube’s bottom lines aren’t going to be affected in the slightest by not creating apps for Vision Pro right now.And companies that took the thanks, but no thanks will look like bigger and bigger fools as time goes on.
Troll Different. And it’s only a small 30% commission for any immersive background developer. That’s a real steal compared to the olden days of setting up your own wallpaper manufacturing plant and/or contracting with a professional printing company, and distributing it through home improvement stores. Let alone do all the payment processing yourself.
