Messy line up ! Great confusion for shoppers 🍎, well done 🤡s
It feels like we've come full circle back to the whole megahertz wars again.
What happened to Good, Better, Best? Oh, right...Tim.

I think generally the M4<nothing> machines were also Thunderbolt 4, and only the Pro and Max machines had Thunderbolt 5. So this would just be continuing that practice, not a step down for M5.Very odd that the M5 models only have Thunderbolt 4 vs. M4's with Thunderbolt 5. I'm not sure what the real-world impacts of this are, but curious.
N1 has had some issues. One patch so far, but still a lot of people complaining about CarPlay issues with N1 devices. Maybe they just are playing it safe this year. Next year we will probably see every device with N2 and C2X modems.Kind of interested that Apple did not move to the N1 in the MacBook Pro, but maybe the Broadcom Wi-Fi chip has certain functions N1 is not yet able to replicate.
Of course! How else is Apple going to meet their record profit forecasts if they can't sell a measly 16GB RAM upgrade for $400!!!!buckle up guys, we’re going to be riding with the Apple 16GB memory game for a bit longer.
You're saying Apple can't put the N1 chip in the Pro and Max models for some reason? Why is that?No Wifi 7 here means no Wifi 7 for the M5 Pro and M5 Max next year, which is a bad joke. So they're waiting to put Wifi 7 on the OLED M6. Damn.
Sounds like you are complaining about people who are complaining about people complaining.Almost as tiresome as people complaining about people complaining.
In fairness, the base level MBP was always the 'corporate purchase device' tier.16GB 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, at least there's that. Good for those who already have, or don't need a charger (using a monitor to charge for example, like me).The 1899 euro price (VAT 25% country) does not include a charger in EU but the M5 costs 100 euros less than the M4 was. I prefer this.
Same pricing in UK unfortunately. We only have the charger removedAm I confused or have they lowered the price? €1829 vs (if I recall correctly) €1929 for the base model in the Netherlands. UK, too?
The base M4 MacBook Pro has Thunderbolt 4. You need to upgrade to the M4 Pro to get Thunderbolt 5. So there is no change here. It would have been nice for the base M5 to support Thunderbolt 5, a significant update, but it is apparently not to be.Very odd that the M5 models only have Thunderbolt 4 vs. M4's with Thunderbolt 5. I'm not sure what the real-world impacts of this are, but curious.
They don't slink. They take over the thread with entitled complaining.Aaaannndddd right on cue, the people who are never happy no matter what Apple does slink out of the woodwork to offer their complaints. It's really quite tiresome.....
120Hz mini-LED display, up to 33% more battery life, much better graphics performance, active cooling, extra USB-C port, HDMI port, SD card slot, better speakers and microphones...Why would anybody buy this over macbook air 15?
Positive. I bought a base 14" M4 in March and it came standard with 512GB.Are you sure the base m4 was starting from 512 and not 256?
my guess is a redesign, perhaps vaporchamber coolingSo now it looks like the M5 Pro and M5 Max Macbook Pro will be coming in early 2026. It seems that the rumoured delay was right to a certain extent.
