The Apple Watch Edition (solid gold) appears to have been axed. Guess they weren't selling in the millions.
The new handset also features a 5-megapixel front-facing FaceTime camera with a True Tone Retina Flash feature that lights up the display of the iPhone significantly more than usual, just before a photo is captured.
I have a 6s+ and it fits comfortably and easily in the front pocket of all my pants. Stop wearing skinny jeans.
Tech leftovers? The fact it doesn't have worthless tech like 3D Touch is a selling point.
The front-facing camera info is incorrect here. It's actually the 1.2MP FaceTime HD camera. Also bummed about Touch ID 1.0.
Still very interested in the device, just weighing the tradeoffs from my 6s.
Thus comment is a little doom and gloom but your right in that it reflects a lacklustre show on stage tonight. No 128GB.
Same giant bezels.
Wish Apple would give us a flagship 4" iPhone. Hanging onto my iPhone 5 for another year.
This keynote...protruding camera on the iPad? Ridiculous. Starting with 15 minutes of research and health was worthy, but incredibly boring. Only Phil Schiller exuded any appreciable enthusiasm. The Apple Watch is obviously selling badly; no sales figures and a 20% price drop. The iPad has been increased in price by 20%; just what is needed in the face of 8 quarters of plummeting sales. Shares are down post-keynote.
I find the death of Apple painful to watch. All good things come to an end, I guess. I'm grateful to Steve Jobs and all who worked with him for his amazing products.
No, no 3D Touch and the FaceTime HD camera is still stuck at 1.2 Megapixels (compared to 5 in the 6S).
More gobsmacked at UK pricing; £359 for 16GB and £439 for 64GB.
I'm kinda bummed. I have the 6s which I like, but have always preferred the smaller 4" phones.
See a lot of people in my area using 3D Touch on a daily basics. Mostly in Messages. No 3D Touch. No problem, it's a feature that no one tends to use anyway. I have had s 6s for a month and not needed it once.
....People need to quit bitching about this. We are in the minority. I'm willing to bet 60% of iPhone users are people who just use 3-5 apps and make phone calls, text, and answer e-mails. Unless you are loading music, movies, or taking tons of pictures most people don't need more then 16 GB.Still starts with 16 gb.
In the keynote it seemed like they talked about it supporting more LTE bands or something, but when I compare iPhone models on Apple.com, it lists the iPhone SE as not supporting "LTE Advanced". Anybody know the details here?
Noticeable differences between the 6S Plus and SE according to Apple's comparison page:
- No Dual-domain pixels for wide viewing angles for SE.
- No LTE Advanced in SE.
- No Display Zoom and Reachability for SE.
- No MIMO w/ Wifi in the SE.
- No second generation Touch ID speeds for the SE.
- No Optical Image Stabilization in the SE Camera.
- No OIS for Video.
- No 5 MP front facing camera. Only 1.2 for the SE.
- Auto HDR only for photos for front facing camera of SE.
- No Barometer in SE.
