I'm really looking forward to Mavericks! It looks to be a very cooked version of OS X so I'm hoping we get very little bugs on launch day.

Here come the apologists and fanboys.

Not really a fan boy, just figured you must be a troll if you haven't A: figured out how to drag an icon out of the dock and B: Learned to adapt to a change like the rest of us.

Not that it matters.

I'll take OpenGL 4 and Memory Compression over style any day.

Easily the best part of the keynote. The first OS release I'm actually looking forward to since Leopard.

Apple dug themselves into a hole with Lion, but they're slowly digging themselves back out. Bring back Spaces + Expose and they'd be 95% of the way there :)

EDIT: That said, the name sucks. I can only think "Palin" and it seems I'm not alone :/

I didn't see anything during the presentation that would require dropping Core 2 Duo's. The simpler graphics would be even less taxing to the GPU and Timer Coalescing should speed up the system.

Please don't drop Core2Duo support!

*hugs 2011 MacBook Air*

Oh, having to wait 4 or 5 months is horrifying. Seriously? Go outside, kiss your wife, live a bit.

LOL. I already spend a lot of time with my wife, probably way too much time.
And most of the time, I'm outside.
So, what's wrong with complaining about having to wait 5 months?

I need iBooks on my Mac, something that doesn't really requires a whole new OS to work.
The keynote was loaded with great vaporware. We have to wait 5 months for it to condensate and freeze to become solid.

I am liking what I have seen so far. I really like the iBooks for the Mac!!! Been waiting for that for a while. I don't always have a phone or iPad with me but being able to read it on any device is nice!!!

I have learned to adapt to changes, but if they're so stupid they actually slow me down while working, I'm going the straight hardliner route, because that's what's the only logical thing to do.

Also, the sheer existence of Launchpad already tells enough. The underlying problem isn't solved by just removing this icon from the Dock.

I'm not a troll or fanboy from the other camps - I own 3 expensive-as-hell maxed out Macs and am actively working with them - but I'm certainly nobody who just blindly applauses to anything Apple tries to sell us as "the future".

The under-the-hood improvements are pretty impressive, but they still won't solve the problems floating over them. If these features came to Snow Leopard I'd take them instantly.

Sea Lion would have been awesome, whoever came up with Mavericks should be terminated.

I think Mavericks is actually a beautiful name. Just sort of hard to remember and might sound a bit silly until we get used to it.

Surprised by the name, but like what I saw... not sure if it's enough though to get me to upgrade from Mountain Lion based on my needs, usage, etc.

I'm interested to see what future OS names are in store for us now utilizing this new theme!

10.9 will take with it LOGIC X?
LOGIC X was rumoured to be at WWDC..but it has not.

Great! So a feature that you won't have to use is the reason you will keep on using Snow Leopard.

Okay then.

Apple implementing optional features? Novel. It was the forced and flawed versions system of lion that really made Windows the only option. I wonder if they can change that now. Kind of doubt it, this OS still isn't going near touch :(.
