Corporate greed and piracy both on the rise 📈 I wonder if there's a correlation between the two 🧐
I’d say buy physical media or just subscribe to Apple TV for a month and binge watch all your favorite shows

There's also a hassle factor with sports now.

Despite having multiple forms of paid access, it's incredible how often I get "over nagged" about where I'm currently located or needing to re-confirm or "re-verify my sub" again and again.

It honestly leads me to using alternative options more often than one might imagine, because they simply "work" and don't hassle you.

Never understood where the fun is in watching cars go in a circle from the TV
F1 tracks are not circles.

In the US the only way to watch F1TV is going to be via the Apple TV subscription. What I can't figure out from the press release is whether or not the full F1TV premium product will be an add-on charge to the regular Apple TV (+) subscription.
This. Weird if F1TV is made free for Apple TV subscribers..that's at least $60/yearly being lost by them.

If its anything like MLS, it will be available at a discount if you have Apple TV, or available without at a slightly higher price. It will be accessible from the Apple TV app.

As long as we have a choice to watch the F1TV broadcasters it will be great. And it better still be in 4K. The Sky Sports broadcast is absolutely misery. Biased and annoying. Alex Jaques and crew on F1TV do a great job.

I couldn't agree more geo-blocks and blackouts gave people no choice but to flock to unofficial streaming services. The same stuff with DRM bs on Netflix and Amazon Prime depending on the browser you're using

Wonder if it'll apply to European countries as well.

Oh, and this is the first use case for Apple Vision Pro that actually appeals to me. Imagine a 1st person POV from the driver of your choice. Could be cool. Not $3k USD worth of cool, but at least something.

I'm confused. Are the cars literally going to be in the app on my iPad or in the box sitting under my TV, or virtually displayed on some device using a streaming system? It just says on "A TV".

Oof ... I'm getting motion sick even thinking about it.

That will be SUPER niche in terms of appeal.

As long as Apple provides 4K HDR streaming like I get with F1TV, I will be content.
We can only hope. As some will recall, Apple has been promising us live sporting events in 4K ever since the first Apple TV 4K was announced, yet there is very, very little 4K sports available, at least in the US.
