As a graphic artist, I love my current 27-inch iMac. I really hope I don't end up having to downsize to a 24" screen. We need a larger screen option! Also, having color directly below the screen is bad for photo editing. I'm glad they have a silver option, but a dark gray option would be nice.

The chin is the actual system.
They could have put the system in the base ala iMac lamp, ditched the chin, and had a huge win with nostalgia, thinness, etc.

There is no excuse for the same basic design since the lamp went out. All they've done is thinner-thinner-thinner for a device that in mos cases has its back to the wall.

I like the look and the colors, but that chin....uh uh, no way

I'd rejoice with you, but now 1080P is outdated for a camera. Everyone is pushing to 2K and 4K cameras. Still will take it over the unforgiveable 720P they milked forever.
Now, this camera/resolution will stay with Apple users for about 5 years. At least. So don't worry, be happy. And have you wallet ready.
did ... did... did they just give the iMac Magsafe? And not on the MacBook line? What???
Of course. Because, you maybe remember, that some people tripped over their cords and than such things happened:

At first I was excited when they started to talk about the iMac. I am not sure if I should order one, wait or just get a refurbished Mini. The 2010 iMac needs to be replaced. It is still working well but it is old.

My first iMac was strawberry so I like the option of getting this new one in red.

Still big bezels
Chin still too large
Colours awful in general, especially from the front
M1, not even an upgraded CPU
Still no vertical adjustment
Still no backlit keyboard
100% sealed, zero upgrade or repair without Apple
And the list goes on

OMG if they release a larger iMac with only these colors... 🤮

There is a target market for this, my daughter to match her pink room. Nobody else I know would want it.
