I was previously not for the candy colours but I can’t believe am leaning towards the blue; space grey or silver out of the window.😁 love it 👌

Did I missed it or is there no SD card slot ?!
One of those ports people are crying for on MacBook Pro’s and it’s gone from the iMac
The new iMac has 4 USB-C port, 2 of these are Thunderbolt-compatible.
Yes, it has 4 ports alltogether.

Oh and it has Ethernet over the power cord. ;) So let's say, the magsafe type powercord is the 5th port for you ethernet/LAN needs.

I wonder whether we will see a larger iMac with a smaller chin branded iMac Pro later this year? Perhaps WWDC. This strikes me as the average consumer iMac.

Just give it a battery and a touch screen and let it detach from the stand Now that would be a tablet to put everyone else to shame :)

Technically, this is clearly a step forward. I hope 27 inch (or possiblly 30 inch) model will look different though, visually I don't like this at all.

No more elegant black bevel around screen (even as an option?), chin looks even bigger without the Apple logo.... not to mention, current model has elegant, thinner edges (don't care the slightest about the thicker back, cause I never see it anyway).

I am really not impressed:

- the display is still not adjustable in the height
- lack of ports on the iMac and the ports are still hard to reach
- odd colors

But the worst thing in my opinion ist the external power supply. I do not buy an "all in one" Mac to have a power adapter laying on the floor. This is just ridiculous.

If this is the way all new iMacs are going I will keep my 2020 iMac longer than expected....

Apple has announced a new, redesigned 24-inch iMac, featuring an M1 chip, a 4.5K display, and a range of color options, as well as an improved cooling system, front-facing camera, speaker system, microphones, power connector, and peripherals.

The new iMac features a completely new design, and comes in a range of seven striking colors. The iMac's overall volume has been reduced by over 50 percent and is now just 11.5mm thin.

The iMac features a new 24-inch 4.5K display with slimmer bezels, in a design that is only slightly larger than the previous 21.5-inch model, and offers True Tone, P3 wide color, and an antireflective coating.

The 24-inch iMac is the first iMac to feature Apple's own custom silicon processor for the Mac, the M1 chip, after years of using Intel chips. CPU performance is up to 85 percent faster than the previous 21.5-inch iMac. GPU performance is up to 2x faster than the fastest discrete graphics available in the previous 21.5-inch model.

The iMac features a completely redesigned cooling system thanks to the efficiency of the M1 chip.

The iMac offers two Thunderbolt ports, two USB-C ports, and a new rear power connector with an ethernet port.

The iMac now features a "studio quality" beamforming three-microphone array, as well as a more powerful six-speaker system that supports spatial audio with Dolby Atmos.

The new iMac comes alongside new peripherals, including new color-matched keyboards with Touch ID, a new Magic Mouse, and a new Magic Trackpad.

The 24-inch iMac with the M1 chip starts at $1299 and comes in seven color options. Orders begin on April 30, with machines arriving in the second half of May.

I think it's clear they need to rethink their marketing strategy and they just alienated a ton of Apple users they forgot about the market where the folks have been using the products for years they put this iPad on a stand and called it a computer.

It's just a large iPad with peripherals...

It makes the last INTEL iMac look really good at this point.
Buy it than, because they will not sell them for very long... Intel Macs will be phased out sooner than later. You'll see.

These will be massive success to mainstream instead of tech enthusiasts. I will pick one up for the inlaws. They will absolutely love it.

Also the magsafe and the ethernet plug into the power brick is brilliant
Agreed. The purple one has my wife and daughter written all over it. Personally, I'd go for the green or blue, but I have a feeling it'll end up being the purple 😂

At work, whenever they decide they are ready to upgrade the Macs we have...it'll almost certainly be the silver color. Though the green is actually pretty close to the green in our logo (I'd say just a shade or two darker).
