When I've choosen a volume to install it on I got following error,
"Du kan inte installera Safari på den här volymen. ERROR_SEC"
which means,
"You can't install Safari on this volume. ERROR_SEC"

Anyone here that get the same error, or have any clue what ERROR_SEC means?

The uninstaller on the dmg will put Safari 3 back for you. The 3.2.1 link on the front page is unnecessary.

jeah, i have the same error...

Unfortunately i couldn't install it to test out the new features...

Somehow it does not want to install on my harddisk?
Is there an obvious mistake i'm doing to install it? Do I have to erase Safari 3 first? (I'm using a Macbook with 10.5.6)

Screenshot is in german and says "You cannot install Safari on this volume: ERROR_SEC"

Thanks for any help!

Hope you didn't download the tiger version, or expect it to run say on OSx86.

Just downloaded and have been running it for a little while now.

For Windows, I'll stick to Chrome. Safari 4 is getting close, but for my line of work, Chrome fits the bill to a T.

The Windows version is super nice, and actually supports Aero.

Now, if only Apple will rewrite QuickTime for Windows ...

pros: new and shiny

cons: seems noticeably slower than FF3, but i'll give it a few more days until the entire cache has been rebuilt.

I have been running javascript benchmark on Safari 4 beta and FF3.1 beta 2 (with the new javascript engine), and Safari 4 is much faster.

You need to install Security Update 2009-001 before you may install Safari 4.
Run Software Update and install everything it has to offer.

"a new Windows-native look in Safari for Windows, that uses standard Windows font rendering and native title bar, borders and toolbars so Safari fits the look and feel of other Windows XP and Windows Vista applications."

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please do this for iTunes. PLEASE. I appreciate that iTunes' look distinguishes it, and makes it more Mac-like, but it's such a dog performance-wise for it.

How about the option to auto-hide the annoying downloads window? PLEASE???

That's probably my number one gripe with Safari.

I like Top Sites (NSFW though!)
hate hate hate tabs at the top
seems very fast.

Apple finally gave people a new tab button!

C'mon all of you harping on the Beta release of Safari.... If you don't like something, hit the BUG button, and report it.... Maybe they'll toss in a feature or two before the final release...

Which brings me to my next point: Unless some of you know how to do it already, in Explorer on Windows, if you want to temporarily allow pop ups, you can do a keystroke-mouseclick to get your pop-up to appear. Safari 3 wasn't able to do this. Can I either get a way to do this without having to shut off "block pop-ups" completely, or can I get a few of you to Report it to Apple with me, so we can get the feature??? Thanks!

Couldn't have arrived any sooner for me :)
The WebKit nightly builds have been annoying me lately with their bugs.

Jury's still out on the new tabs: they take up less space now being part of the title bar, however because of this it's not as slick and easy to move them around.

Safari 4: Teh Snappy™

Oh, and ClickToFlash still works too, as it should being a plugin :)
