Do you write this with a straight face?

It’s been over five years since the iPhone received a notable new feature.

I have an 8+. It’s basically identical to the 6+ it replaced. There’s nothing appealing about replacing it with anything Apple is offering.
Counterpoint: I enjoy my XR and I look forward to replacing it with a better version of the same.

I'm aware that, by tradition, Fall events are always very "general-consumer-oriented" and therefore Watch/Airpods/iPhone first, but it would be nice to hear a bit about Vision Pro, like peeks of what the devs are making. If I were to get greedy, a release date as well. Or maybe it's too soon and they will do it in Spring.

3nm time?
I suspect we will see a progress update, but no estimated time when it will be available in 2024. I find it hard to believe Apple is really gonna use M2 in the Vision Pro with M3 coming online this fall.

It's happening, you might as well get comfortable with the change.
It’ll be change if we stopped getting gouged! The difference sometimes gets large enough that it’s cheaper to hop on a flight to New York and coach to Delaware than buy it in your own country. Alas if you did that, you lose the greater consumer protections you get in Europe, so yeah, probably better to live with Apple gouging,

The reason why it may be hard to go with M3 is that the Vision Pro probably needed to finalise its design well in advance of the M3 being ready, given how complex the manufacturing is for the first gen product. If they wanted to go with M3 and just didn't want to announce M3 at WWDC, may they could have been more vague and said something like "our latest M series chip" instead of saying "M2".

For that you gotta look at Tesla. Tesla is the new Apple. Sorry to upset all the Elon haters. Just as there were lots of Apple haters.
A FaceID failure has nothing on accidentally putting a sledgehammer through a window on-stage, twice

A dream would be a partnership between Apple and Nintendo, and the next Switch main chip be based on an A17 or A18. Maybe customised without the Neural Engine cores. THAT would be a dream: Industry leading graphics and outstanding battery life on a game console.
Extremely unlikely even if both companies wanted it and could work out some sort of profit sharing arrangement. Nintendo isn't going to price the console to contain an A17/A18. It wouldn't be a Switch because it would have very poor backward compatibility (due to differences in graphics hardware).

🤩 Wonderlust!

iPhone Pro colors look amazing! The moment we have been waiting for. Best time of the year!
It IS the best time of year.
I think the interpretation of all the rumors should be viewed a little differently.

Wonderlust is hinting at the desire to explore the outdoors. The titanium dust is for a new iPhone Ultra that will match the Apple Watch Ultra. It will be the only phone with titanium and an action button, maybe additional satellite connectivity, improved water proofing, extra screen brightness and bigger battery. This is the phone that will be delayed at launch, per the rumors. This is also the phone that’s getting a price bump and base storage bump.

The remaining iPhone lineup will be similar to last year, with pro models still being stainless steel, but with Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, A17, and big camera improvements. Regular iPhone 15 will get 3.1 USB-C, A16 processor, and new aluminum colors.

I’m voting this. 👆

Agree, it’s not happening because of many reasons, but the power of a Apple Silicon would be awesome to have on a handheld console.

However, I’m not sure if the Switch 2, coming probably next year, will be backwards compatible.

Well we all know that Apple always hides clues in the event name or artwork so….. Wonderlust………
I bet there’ll be a Paul McCartney signature edition, preloaded with the Give my Regards to Broad Street album 😜
I love these posts, because people think that the announcement details are known by a select group of C-level executives at Apple, as well as one graphics designer whipping up the invite for journalists.

It looks like Apple is disintegrating into space in the presentation.
Worst case nightmare scenario, Musk bought Apple 😳
...for negative 1.9 trillion dollars?
Don’t mind the pre-recorded events, I can fast forward through all I am not interested in.
I can run it later in the background, once I found if what I want comes or not.
Sorry Apple, the lengthy events don’t fit me more then the live events don’t fit you anymore.
I like the pre-recorded events for density, the transitions are a bit annoying, but I find I don't engage with the presentation as as a live event. It just doesn't hold my interest the same way.
So I will fast forward through the presentation to M3 MacBook Air, all I am interested in.
Titanic Dark Blue, Midnight or Black, pls!
I hate to say it but you may be fast forwarding quite a ways. It is unlikely they will announce it before they announce Sonoma, and historically they haven't announced macOS releases at the same event as iOS releases.
