Why don't you mock-up your own Apple invitation using the same info and post here for us to see your skills. Would be fun to see. Seriously. :)

I think that he was complimenting the Apple designers...I didn't think he was trying to be arrogant/sarcastic/cocky in any way :confused:

So you think app development will be the main theme?
I think the main theme will be "the iPhone OS is THE next major platform" and therefore app development. Second bridge=second platform. They will showcase this with the 2.0 update and the long awaited introduction of third party apps. They will be taunting developers to realize the potential of the iPhone OS as a full fledged platform and the iPhone itself as an eventual truly handheld computer.

Just a Guess

My best guess would be an iPhone hardware refresh with built in GPS to correlate with the iPhone Software Upgrade.

The flyer implies heavily that it is everything mac, everything iPhone, so I doubt we will see any :apple: TV updates.

What I also think will happen is that there will be an iTablet to go along with the iPhone update. The iTablet will run Leopard and will have the same functions as a regular computer with multitouch. This is what I think the two bridges going to the same place. iPhone meets Mac. The best of both worlds.

if they made mac os x for pc's i would quickly dump my relatively overpriced macbook pro and get an xps m1550

Ok there's a lot of emphasis on the iphone but "everything mac" is mentioned before "everything iphone". So My thought is there will be a big deal of BOTH!
I think we'll see a newly designed MBP. Its the most dated design of all the Apple computers. Maybe a MacPro redesign too, but unlikely. How much could you change it? Then I think there will be a big iphone deal as well. But I don't think the iphone will take ALL of the freakin WWDC. If it does I'm going to be steaming hot at Jobs:mad::mad::mad:, because :apple: started with computers and they should stay focused with them. Sure go the distance with the iphone too bla bla bla. But give us a brand new MBP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in summary, my hypothesis:
2 bridges= big mac update AND big iphone update. The mac one will probably be more of a hardware one (redesign) while the iphone will probably be a more apps/developer oriented one.

And my 2 cents; the bridges do represent the convergence of Mac development and iPhone development ending with a "one more thing" landmark announcement of Apple's multi-touch iTablet computer. Mark my words...
Marked, Genshi. Not sure if I think you're on to something because of your logic or because I'd love to see a Mac tablet...

It's worth remembering that the flier is about the conference, not just the keynote. This isn't like the invite to a press event, this is an invite to a week of sessions.

...

Oh, please. I am angry, yes.

... And he disappointed again.

He doesn't seem to understand that people/developers wanted to develop native applications for the iPhone. And it seems like he is finding more and more ways to delay it.

I wonder what he will announce in two months. What further delay will there be?

I want my cookie! I want my cookie now! I was promised a cookie! Where is my cookie!

*eyeroll*

"A landmark event. In more ways than one."

I think "landmark" could mean like a milestone... so maybe we will see some major announcements.

maybe new mb, mbp and iphone2 with 3G...

I could see a new MBP update or a totally new laptop.(multi touch tablet?, UMPC with Intel Atom?)

One things for sure, its gonna be BIG!

A landmark event is something monumental that changes a paradigm. The first Mac is an example. A change in paradigm in the computer world means that...

...use your imagination. As much as there was 'something in the air', now there will be a mark in the land of cyber.

All those people saying Apple might split up, are completely wrong. The person is a Major Control Freak and Steve is his name. If he can't control it he don't want it.

I can see this from a mile away - the stevenote will be exclusively devoted to the SDK! People here will be very angry...

Consumer hardware updates? I highly doubt it.

If memory serves me (and please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm definitely not certain about this) the only consumer hardware update released at a WWDC in the past 7 years at least was when the powermac G5 came out at the 2003 WWDC. There have occasionally even been some server hardware updates released at WWDC, but other than the G5 release in 2003 Apple hasn't released ANY consumer hardware in the past 7 year's WWDC.

WWDC is simply not an event that Apple almost ever uses to release new consumer hardware.

If you're expecting a new consumer hardware release at WWDC, then change your expectations right now. I don't wanna come to MR the second Steve's presentation is over and hear your whining about how Jobs really should've released the new MBP at the event, and how "they" got your hopes up, and how you feel really burned because Apple didn't release xyz hardware product at wwdc, etc.

No new consumer hardware is coming at WWDC 2008.

As the unexpected release of the G5 at WWDC one year showed us, you can never say never, but history shows us that it's a very unusual occurrence.

2 bridges coming together as one !! its DEFINITELY hinting at MICROSOFT and APPLE finally JOINING as ONE and travel on a common PATH. :D:D:D:D yup. the poster says it all. clear as day.

OI'm convinsed that they are releasing OSX for generic x86 computers ?!?!?!??!?!?!?!:p

you guys are worse than Lost viewers! :)

In SF where the WWDC is held, the Gate Bridge is a landmark.

"A landmark event. In more ways than one."

Hence, two landmarks. One for "Everything Mac" and the other for "Everything iPhone." Or one existing landmark and the other - the Apple conference.

You see what they did? They made two versions of the most famous landmark in SF. That's the whole concept. They aren't thinking beyond that. If it was in Seattle, they'd have two space needles etc.

Finally, someone worked it out. Reading the "speculation" posts was getting annoying.
