Thanks but man that icon is ugly!!
Unlock the screen = FREE
No need for an App.
Any free ones available yet?
That would be a huge disappointment if it would ever happened. It'd be fine with a separate "open" store but I don't want the App Store to change. Rather I want Nokia etc to create their own version of the Apple App Store..
This one has a strobe:
$0.99 version: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=379594214&mt=8
Free (iAd supported version): http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=379753015&mt=8
If unlocking your screen turns on the camera flash, then you probably need to get your phone looked at.
so is the led brighter than just turning on your phone with a mostly white screen?
This is the best free one I've found, complete with flashing option and no ads!

Each app, however, must include a disclaimer that continued use of the iPhone's LED may dramatically decrease battery life.
Certainly not useless, their system obviously has its advantages along with its disadvantages. I think, as the creators of the iPhone, they should be able to decide how it should be used. If you don't like it, find another phone that matches your needs or cope with it. If no other phone matches your needs then it's unfortunate. Only an opinion but I'm perfectly happy with how they work. This isn't just an Apple thing, I just think it's more respectful to the creators to use their products as they envisioned. I'm aware some of that probably sounds daft but I don't really mind if other people think I'm wrong. The question should be: When does Apple finally drop their completely useless approval process and when will they finally be forced to open their devices to competing AppStores?
It should be up to the customer to decide whether an application is acceptable or not. End of story.
