Now, assuming Apple still has a few weeks to go before iOS 7 GM at this point, how is Foxconn going to get iOS 7 loaded into ALL of the new iPhone 5S's and 5C's? They practically have only a few days to do that.

The phones are loaded with the OS during the assembly process. It's not as crazy as it seems. it's not like a bunch of people plugging in devices and watching the little white %/status bar.

so why exactly are you all so excited about this new iphone 5C? Really, give me one good reason other than "BUT IT HAS NICE COLOR!"

As a consumer, it gets you a new model iOS phone with access to the App Store, all while being (probably) at least $100 cheaper.

As a shareholder, it will reverse the decline in iPhone sales growth rate by selling better in price-sensitive areas such as emerging markets with large populations.

"Oh, and FYI, the iPhone, it's available 5 minutes ago." *Everyone at the keynote pulls up apple.com*

This might be a stupid question, but why can't someone just talk to a worker on the assembly line and get new information on the iPhone?

Only if it was that easy.

Hmmm I usually don't like when products are rushed to market. Means corners have been cut. I don't expect this from Apple however.

Rushed. It's a iPhone 5 with a different case. I think it's anything but rushed.

If you've never had one you're in for a treat.

I was always sold on the "power" of android. And while I love how I can just plug in my galaxy and pull stuff off of it without an app (I really don't like itunes), I can't stand the painfully slow android updates and how large the phone is. This won't be my first apple product though (it was a mid 90's Mac Performa :D ). I just want a phone that works, gets updated and is easy to use in one hand. I'm also looking to get away from sprint.

I'm really torn between 2 phones I don't know anything about, the iPhone 5S, and the Note 3. If Apple can release the 5S sooner rather than later, I'll be back with iOS ASAP!

Mark my words iPhone 5c is going to sell like freaking wild fire. Every kid is going to want a colored iPhone.

You are right about that! They won't be able to make 'em fast enough to satisfy demand, for a while anyway.
Is there a release pattern here?

Most of the functionality @ a lower price, all in an attractive new package. Are you excited now?

Hmm.. Never thought about that before...
How DO they load the OS on?

Contrary to usual iphones which offer less than other smartphones for more dollars, this one would be more affordable and in line with market

I have to agree that screen real estate, sd slot, removable battery are still missing badly...

If distributed in EU this 5c will please many women

The OS comes prelodead in the memory chips. They push the software wirelessly and activate the installation remotly while the phone is in the box.

Looking Apple is like looking the stars in the sky. You see what they were weeks or years ago. If they release iOS beta 6 yesterday, they actualy had it some weeks ago and GM release is alrdy installed on milions of phones in stock

If the rumors are true, I asume there will be a week window betwen anouncment and release. Oh, those iPhone 5C will sell like hot bread sells in Somalia.

That worker on the assembly line will lose their job, and can be prosecuted for divulging trade secrets. You can be prosecuted for receiving trade secrets by inducing that worker to tell them to you.

I know a lot of people like the metal ones, but these are very nice (if they actually end up like this), and I think they may steal a LOT of thunder from the "upscale" models.

I agree from a design POV. The current iP5 as it is has nasty design cues, seems much cheaper than the iP4 and the materials haven't been chosen well at all.

Things like the finger-print recognition doesn't bother me. If the phone signal issues have been sorted in the 5C shell/iOS7 software, then it's a simple purchase for me. I've always wanted an iPhone in the similar shape/design as the iTouch. Glad to see Apple haven't missed that trick. :D

I expect it to be much cheaper but not much incapable, so, the 5C got to have a higher ability/price ratio.

Apple should sell these in the USA and retire the 4 and 4S. That probably isn't what's going to happen, and there is the fear that the 5C would outsell the 5, given that lately, a lot of customers have been buying the 4, but sales of Apple product is still a win for Apple, isn't it?
