None. Absolutely none. Except to get clicks and responses like you’re seeing. So what's the point of the article then? The "update" was posted in the "rumor"?
Someone give this guy a hugEA would be a perfect match for Apple's greed!
The cat you don't own is with me. It's my cat. It will confirm it owns EA shortly, just as soon as it stops cleaning its ******* and ignoring me (dinner time). My cat is rumoured to be going to buy Electronic Arts (EA)!
Update: according to myself, the rumour my cat is going to buy Electronic Arts (EA) is incorrect.
Also, I don’t even own a cat.
What nonsense. Apple’s gaming strategy is Apple Arcade which has zero micro transactions. What happened to mobile gaming wasn’t apples fault. They tried to get devs to avoid free apps in the beginning. And when freemium got out of hand, they created a service without IAPs. They don’t have the best catalog, to be sure. But you’re criticizing them for the wrong thing, at least WRT gamesLOL Apple's gaming strategy is predatory gambling microtransactions. They'd be a perfect fit.
(Amazon is not buying EA.)
Not a chance any of these would be locked up to Apple Arcade. The Apple Arcade rules already allow games to appear on consoles and PC as well as in the Arcade. They just don’t release on Android (which, many games don’t release on Android anyway). And, that market cap would not be the same if the game was available without micro transactions (which Apple Arcade titles don’t have). So this was never going to be a reason to subscribe to Apple Arcade.Last thing I need is a reason to subscribe to Apple Arcade.
Smart move, Apple.
Not really, because Apple produces quality products and services for the price.
EA is better off sharing a bed with Bezos, where you sometimes get the quality products you think you’re purchasing.
As Apple is to gaming what submarines are to aviation - it should not have bid in the first place.
As @leman would ask: Why waste time with Metal 3 and showing off "high end" games during WWDC if they aren't into gaming?Apple hasn't taken ANY kind of gaming seriously since Apple started. I grew up on the Apple //e and there were a few cool games like Choplifter and Lode Runner (1982-ish timeframe) but even after 40 years of Apple trying to market/advertise iPod Touch as being the next gaming console platform and Apple Arcade is actually the next platform and the vast emptiness of games for the Mac (forever) I just don't see why Apple would want to change their ways and invest heavily into gaming. I just don't think Apple has the heart for gaming, and that's perfectly ok with me.
I've never understood the push for Mac gaming. Just seems like people want one more reason to worship their Apple products.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) loot box money grab fiasco is all you need to know about EA.Isn’t EA the most hated of game developers? Or is that all of them?
Wow. I love blanket statements that pin the perceived opinion of a small subset of a group on the entire group…All. Gamers are one of the most toxic and self entitled communities.
Edit: and it really shows.
