It is all about perception.

The increase in size from 4.7" to 5.5" crosses the perceptual barrier from "phone" to "tablet" for many people. Nothing wrong with that, or with anyone who wants a larger phone.

And you might refrain from statements such as "can't be considered." Yes, it can be.

You may want to refrain from snipping partial statements from someone's quote and taking that information completely out of the context in which it was presented. Hopefully, you understood exactly what I meant by not really near. 5.5" may cross a perceptual barrier for you, but I would think visually, the usage of near would lose it's effectiveness when you see the items compared. That's just me. We're different. That's totally okay.

Posted this yesterday but MacRumours didn't pick up on it. Not sure if it's legit, but it's a rumour none the less. The report linking to the poster says at least one iphone expected to launch on 19th Sep.

Here's the article link...

Isn't that the same picture that's on the iPhone 6 page on here?

Wouldn't count on it # (looks wise)
But the date seems reasonable.

Haha, hadn't noticed. But looking at the apps... The health book app is definitely not the app apple announced so you are probably right!

And it has the MacRumours App! lol

4.7" seems like a too small size and 5.5" seems huge with that huge and outdated home button. Yet I am sure I will most probably end up begrudgingly buying one.

I expect more from Apple.
Especially in regards to design.

Given your expectations & standards, your wife or girlfriend must be hotter & wittier than Kate Upton because clearly Ms. Upton would only rate as "average" to you.

People don't realize that the mini is already a phone. With FaceTime voice calls over air you can already call anyone with an iPhone for free out of the box. Most people with iPhones have no idea of the power they have that comes no where else. A lot of it Apple can't promote without pissing off carriers. Even being able to stream all iTunes content over wifi and music even over the air. I have yet to tell someone about this that already knew about it.

Want one, a 5.5" one that is. Love my Note 3, if you approach devices this size as a tablet first, phone second, they're great. I actually use my Note more than my iPad mini. Really looking forward to an iPhone of similar proportions.

I don't understand why Tim likes to release everything in one quarter. Does he think that's the only time people spend money? It's a horrible strategy.

He should space out the launches which will help ease the manufacturing /supply chain burden and he'll sell more products throughout the year by having more supply on hand for launch and by giving consumers new products after they've had a chance to save up from their last Apple gadget purchase.

I've read a variation of this same article SO MANY TIMES on this site. MacRumors is now like Taco Bell; take the same few ingredients and try to combine them in new ways to attract customers.

Anyone else see the irony in that Page 2 stories here are based more in reality than Page 1 stories. To get featured on the front page only requires the "source's" ability to spout information from thin air.

I believe you still don't know how internet commerce works.

Page 1 stories are for getting more "clicks and views".

In today's social media world, no one cares about facts but only cares about gossips, speculation...

It's not really about the size. It's about the crispness of the display and how vivid it is.

My iPhone 5s right now has a yellow tint.

But besides that, the only thing I'm interested in with the new iPhone is battery life.

But if the mass production starts only one month after the other it probably means they announce both at the September event. ;)

Didn't they do something similar for the iPhone 4? Where they released the black one with the promise of the white one coming later?

Naimfan quoted the parts of your post that were relevant to his point. That's entirely appropriate.

No one is making you buy one. That is exactly why they're coming out with a 4.7 inch phone.

He said different strokes for different folks, some people are so quick to jump someone when they should learn how to comprehend!

a) this is a rumor site

b) the page 1 stories always have a greater importance. Yes, many (often most) page 2 stories are more factual, but also usually have much less implications (oh wow, a new safari beta release.... vs new iPhone is coming out!)

However, it is quite monotonous that we get these same stories virtually every single day whenever a new source or analyst perks up to get attention

I wonder what the pricing is going to be like IF they release two iPhones. 32GB iPhone 5S costs 799€ in Europe, which is pretty outrageous if you ask me.

So the "premium" 5.5" iPhone 6 32GB model would cost like what, 899€?

No it's not. It's a complete misrepresentation of what I said. Now, if you're trying to force a narrative it's the easiest way to do it. Taking a statement, and not even a full statement; but select words, to make a point is not a valid way of proving one's point. If you take those words AND the context surrounding them to form a rebuttal then I have no issue with that. But that's just me. Others may think differently.

We'll probably see ice hockey games in hell before we can actually get one.

And that's if you order 30 seconds after ordering opens up.

It's an Apple ritual that NO other company has...
