My credit card didn't get charged until the day after I received my iPad pre-order. Don't sweat it. Apple will make sure they get their money. Just make sure that card is still good on the 24th or your iPhone could go bye bye.

Has anyone in the UK got confirmation that their iPhone has been shipped or preapred for shipping yet? Mine's still sat on 'Not Yet Shipped' and I pre-ordered on the 15th.
I can't really tell but most people who are saying they've received confirmation appear to be from America.

Earlier than expected
I just got my shipping notification from Apple as well. I'm pretty stoked since when I ordered I was given "ships by July 2" but now I get my phone on the 24th! Hopefully, my wife's phone will ship soon as well. By the way, I ordered both phones around 10:30pm eastern on the 15th.

So that means Apple shipped their phones out first and then charge on the 24th?? what if the credit card decline? they just simply call you for a new card or you will not receive the phone on the 24th??

You don't ship 4 days before delivery if the carrier has to hold it. The majority of iPhones will begin showing up Tues and Wed, so be home, and be prepared.
By the way the world will not end if a few people get their iPhone 4s early.
In fact, OS 4.0 comes out Monday, so anytime after that is game on for the iPhone 4.0

Mine is in Hong Kong. I hope it gets today's flight out. If not I hope it takes a lot of photos & videos. I haven't been there since 1969, I'd like to know how the old place has changed. 
Not even limited to iPhones/Apple products. Even Harry Potter books have been held back by/at the shipper to meet a global release date.

Yes Im the same I am from Scotland (near Great Britain) and I'm still on the Not Yet Shipped logo ... however - I have not had my bank account debited as yet ... is this a good thing or? .... I was told by the bloke at the Apple Phone Order Line when I rang to confirm theyd got my online order ... that they could come Wednesday - well if this is the case then ol' CityLink or Fedex or whoever are delivering them ... better get their arses in gear fast ... we shall see ... meantime I am not sure if the thing REALLY needs a case or not .. Ive gone and bought a cheapie off Amazon til SwitchEasy have also got their buttocks in drive ... and got their stuff on the market for the iPhone 4 ... their Capsule Rebel protected mine for a year ... not a mark when I removed the case to flog on eBay for £350 last week ... er .. thats it ...
July 2 "ships by" date - prepared for shipment?
After seeing this post, I checked my order status and it now says prepared for shipment.
I am one of the unfortunate customers who tried and tried on the first pre-order day then around 7:30PM I finally got through, but with only a July 2 date. Would it be possible that I could get it earlier than July 2nd?
I can't imagine that the phone is ready for shipment and they hold it for another two weeks... right? Any thoughts?

this is the same shipment tracking info as it was for the 3GS launch. the phones go to the main fedex hub in ft worth, tx and from there they send them to the regional sorting facilities, and down the line they eventually get to you on the promised date.
fedex has thing kind of thing down to a science...they know exactly when to have it leaving the manufacturing docks. it would be dumb if fedex actually "held" the shipments in some warehouse. that's a lot of wasted time and ruin the efficiencies they have of operating at 100%. it's entertaining to see how many fedex sort facilities your phone will go through.
