It just reminds me of Windows vs Mac. Now it's Android vs Apple. We all know they suck, but people want to beat on Apple, because, well, they can't make anything as good as Apple.

The phone has not even been in customer's hands for more than a week. This is not rare, its the tip of the iceberg. This is like Microsoft calling the RROD rare for Xbox 360 after a few dozen complaints in the first week.

I agree that people can do more to protect their phone from bending, but I mean come on. Apple is spending billions on sapphire research to improve the durability of their display screens. They want Unbreakable and Unscratchable to become synonymous with Apple devices. But that is all moot if your phone is going to bend after having only one "aw ****" moment.

I think we may have hit the thinnest a phone can be for a while. Apple may have made a mistake trying to be the thinnest phone out there. Even if they were 1 mm thicker, they could have both avoided the protruding camera issue AND perhaps a thicker metal back might have avoided #bendgate. Being 8mm is pretty great for a phone these days.

And where is Apple's quality assurance in all this? I mean did they do no stress analysis or consider real world usage scenarios? Or were they just so proud and quick to get iPhone 6 Plus out the door they dropped the ball on testing the case design properly???

Perhaps Apple can learn a thing or two from how Ikea puts their ****** furniture through aggressive quality testing...

Just wondering... Are you really comparing IKEA to Apple???

Now I really am LAUGHING MY A** OFF!!

Buddy or Miss... How bout you visit an IKEA forum thread or two... You want to read about ***** products..... Sounds like a shrill....smells like one too...

Lol what are the odds that all 9 users are also MR members.
Pretty good actually. Haven't you noticed that whiners and complainers are highly over-represented here? It's called selection bias- this forum is designed to attract that type of person.

Actually it's not selection bias, that's something else. This is overgeneralization.

Seriously I can't believe that this is getting traction.

DON'T SIT ON YOUR CELL PHONE!!

If you're sitting on your cell phone then whatever happens to it is your fault!
iPhone, Samsung, HTC... which ever.

And why would you anyways, it's uncomfortable.

I do believe the problem is overblown but I find the "9" complaints number to be very hard to believe.

:apple:

How is it delusion? There have been multiple comments on different sites, even if Apple has only been contacted by nine people, that doesn't mean that they are the only ones impacted, or the only ones who WILL be impacted.

It shouldn't happen, period. And I say this as someone who has a 6 and has no issues.

They said that only nine people have 'complained'. That doesn't mean that only nine people have been affected or will be. I've seen more than nine people reporting it between here and Reddit alone.

Yes, the internet. The place where reality happens.

If only nine customers complained, then why is the story and images "spreading like wildfire"?

Images? How many images have you seen of bent phones? I doubt it's even been nine. And, it's the same story regurgitated over and over again. I've said from the beginning that this is not an epidemic. A handful of people with tight pants had some bad luck and then the video was made and went viral. Never mind that it took a ******** of force to bend the phone in the video. Suddenly all iPhone 6 Plusses bend, according to the media who decided to go gaga over it by spinning this non-story into something that it isn't.

Is there a way to load iOS on my M8? I really don't like the iPhone forn hardware and I love the look of the M8 and front facing speakers. Are there hacks where I can load iOS on an M8. The battery last far longer on M8 too.

Waiting for Apple to make a product that's like the HTC M8 because I really do like iOS more.

Put money where mouth is Tim. Provide video showing that it doesn't bend under stress. Then allow press to test same phones.

Buyers remorse. If the plus is too big, then go return it and exchange it with 6. Stop making excuses.

Look my Apple Watch broke!

I was only working out with it very little and the uniting screen cracked. All i had to do was run it over with my car multiple times and say it broke and then return it to Apple. Ohh I forgot have to shoot my video of the broken watch on my wrist with my workout clothes and say it just broke while working out!!!!! This post is for a 6 months down the road when some says my Apple watch broke!!

Come on people there are a lot of people trying to make you think that things like Apple products are not good. I think i will now go out and purchase a samsung watch!

Then post a pic. With proof in the pic that its you. Otherwise go away.

There's an awful lot of Internet hostility going on here, and a lot of people are apparently under the impression that this is some big conspiracy to bash Apple.

I love the company, their customer service, and their products. I'm just apparently one of a small number of users whose phones are showing signs of this issue. I could easily go two years with my device in the state it's in now because, as I said, it's fairly subtle--so subtle that it's entirely possible it arrived in this condition and I didn't notice until I specifically checked for any bending or warping. If this is something that's happened in the past week of extremely light use, however, I definitely want to do something about it to prevent future issues.

I might get a picture up, but I honestly don't feel like I have anything to prove here.

Hump? What hump?

What do people expect to happen as they keep slimming down the aluminum and making the glass more flexible to prevent cracking? 7mm composed of layers of aluminum, battery, circuit board, chips, display, glass... We're down to 1mm per layer. The rails around the perimeter of the housing will add some strength, but if they're weakened by button holes...

I'm not too worried that my phone is going to bend, and if it does I'm not all that concerned it will affect my use, but I miss the iPhone 4s design. That phone felt so good in my hand.

Only 9 so far

Yeah, only 9 so far...but that ain't out of ten million. They may have SOLD 10 million the first weekend, but they are a long long way off from actually delivering those 10 million phones so that anxiously waiting customers can bend them. I ordered my 6+ on Sept. 13 from AT&T and they are promising me that I will actually have it by...November 27th!! Also, let's remember that these problems emerged in the first 5 days. What kind of shape are these phones going to be in after a year or two of riding in pockets?
