Apple's either going to sell two phones, or just one with the same dimensions and a slightly larger display. I think the latter is a very realistic scenario.

If I were a betting man, and I am, I would put my money on a slightly larger phone with a larger screen. If not the iPhone 5, the 6 for sure.

Even if the iPhone remains the same size, I hardly see a bunch of iPhone users running out to grab a giant Android phone.

I just came over from a blackberry....and no matter what I simply can't imagine going to Android/droid. iPhone is just too good.

Well this raises an interesting point. Most people in these screen size threads only ever seem to compare iPhone to Android, when really a lot of users are coming to iPhone from other platforms such as Blackberry, Symbian, and a whole host of varously sized 'dumbphones'. Looking at it this way the iPhone is not always the smallest option. For many it's a positive step up. For me personally, having always preferred iPhone and briefly once used Android, when it comes to screen size I would admit that a liitle increase would benefit iBook reading and video watching, as it's not always convenient to have an iPad to hand to do these things. But having said that the existing retina 3.5 inch screen is proven tech that is actually good enough for most mobile tasks and doesn't really cause me personally any problems or size anxieties as Mr or Ms Giant Galaxy walks by, so I'm fine with the 3.5 as long as the next iPhone features an interesting new design or construction that continues the Ive tradition of solid build quality and peerless tactility. As long as iOS continues to evolve, and my growing investment in the whole Apple ecosphere continues to provide the most consistent experience, I'm still in, cinema screen or not.

Already posted this. lol.

So many seem to miss the point. This reviewer is a longtime dedicated Apple user. The very fact that he pick up a Note, used it, felt it had a few shortcomings, returned it, picked up a 4S, immediately realized he had made a big mistake, went back, paid restocking fees, and picked up the Note again. He picked Hardware coupled with and OS he feels is second to iOS over an Apple alternative. The stylus on the Note is legit, Siri on the iphone is a gimmick. This is what the competition is bringing, CHOICES. Again, Apple is looking more and more to becoming the new RIM. But my bet is that Apple will fall to market demands, and it will have a 4-4.3 inch screen within the next 2 iphones. And the sheep will rejoice.

Maybe not, but the review was spot on. I'm a long time iPhone user, who just switched to the Note. Also, I've had a number of people ask about my phone, just like when I first got the iPhone.

people are asking about it because its so freakishly huge they can see it from space

when I find something better I'll switch regardless of screen size. ;) end of story.

^^^^ This.

And Apple will be increasing the screen size. They just didn't want to retool the entire production line for the 4S to maximize profits for another year. They have retooled for the 5. Phone will look completely different. October release.

* Legal Disclaimer: i know nothing about Apple's production and release schedule. It is all pure speculation on my part.

I don't know how relevant a single review like this is. Screen size is very much a personal choice. What really matters is do MOST people want a bigger or smaller screen on a phone. Not sure what the answer to that is, but iPhone sales are hardly struggling.

Personally, I really like the big screen on a phone, it's a pleasure to use (some of my friends have large samsung phones), BUT if I were going to buy my own phone, I would probably still get the smaller screen. Because as much as I enjoy using a big screen, I would not want to carry a giant phone with me everywhere. The advantages of a big screen are outweighed by the advantages of portability. But, that's just me. I wouldn't mind a small size increase, maybe, at least to make it easier to press small things on the screen, but for me, a really big phone would be annoying in terms of fitting in my pockets and whatnot. I don't know how the majority of smartphone users would feel about that, however, but it seems that most people do prefer smaller phones, in general.

So it seems, iSource has done a very interesting review.

Here's a quote from the review:
"That switch lasted less than an hour and I knew I had made a mistake going back the 4s."

I'm pretty sure Apple knows what they are doing and even if they didn't release a bigger phone the iPhone will still sell well. I do not want to see Apple release a 4"+ phone.

The iPhones weight and thickness for it's size is terrible. For a phone with such a small display, it should be much thinner and lighter. The Galaxy S2 is thinner and lighter than the iphone. Much more portable. Put your iPhone in your shirt pocket and you can really feel it. Put it in a cargo shorts pocket and it constantly whacks your leg because of it's brick weight and feel. Galaxy S2 is bigger, yet does not do this due to is lightness and thinness.

anyone who actually puts a Galaxy note up to their face to make a call looks like a complete jackass. It cannot be avoided.

3.5-4.0 is the perfect size display for what the device is... A PHONE.

Why so angry? Although, I must say, using the iPad as a camera looks helluva lot more ridiculous than using the note as a phone. But hey, what do I know, I don't drink Kool-Aid.

Who wants to carry around the galaxy note as a phone....I will laugh at the first person I see holding up the Note to their head to make a call.

How big is the truck you are using to carry it in? Maybe it is the truck they are really asking about and you are assuming it is the phone.

Skinny Jeans: Man up and go buy some Levi’s Boot Cut. You look like a fool in those pants and nobody wants to see your goolies

Lol so true, it infuriates me when I see people who don't want a 4 inch iPhone complaining it won't fit in their jeans..

To be honest I really want to give the Lumia 900 a go, literally the only thing stopping me is the fact it only ships in 16GB. If the next iPhone is a 3.5inch screen, with marginal upgrades with the same body, I will be sorely tempted to try another phone.

It's even more infuriating when people assume that if a phone won't fit in their pocket, that they have to be wearing 'skinny jeans.'

How small does a pocket have to be that a phone 0.5 inches bigger would suddenly not fit?

Please, enlighten me on how to make a phone call with an iPad.[COLOR=]

Google voice + talkatone. They work very nicely together. This is what I did before I got my iPhone. All you need is a data plan, and you will save money over a smartphone with a calling plan. Or you can get the iPad with this combo and get a dumb phone with a pre-paid plan for those rare calls that do not work using them.

Im not mad at all bud, just stating my opinion mixed with fact.

BTW, the iPad is not sold as a camera, but I'd rather be seen snapping a quick pic with the iPad, than have to have a conversation while holding the Note to my face.. that conversation is going to take more than a moment usually.

I'm currently using a GSM Galaxy Nexus and loving it. I still have my original iPhone but it's too slow for a daily driver. But I have to say, if the next iPhone has at least a 4 inch or bigger screen I will be getting it.

My coworker switched from a 3gs to the Note and he seems to like the Note. I played with it and think it's oversized BRICK. The screen looks like **** too, way too washed out.
