A design that is still continuing to sell and hasn't slowed down even a little.
No creaky plasticy Android Garbage with bogged down OS. HUGE spec upgrades that will only serve to make a great platform better.
A Camera that rivals standalone Digital Cameras.
Finally caught up and bypassed voice control abilities of their competitors.
Another Carrier, PLUS ability to move your phone to ANOTHER carrier if you choose without having to purchase another phone.

This. There was a lot of disappointment when the 3GS was announced because it didn't live up to the rumors circulating beforehand (case redesign, front-facing camera, etc.).
I see how people can be disappointed... But it has the same specs and according to apple is faster than the next best thing on AT&T which is the galaxy s II. Do you really expect an lte phone when AT&T has zero lte phones and only has it in 4 cities... Lmao Verizon is kore yes but that won't happen until all carriers have full us coverage

If all else fails, stuff an iPad 2 in the 4 ... and call it a 4S
my grandma has an upgrade in august so technically i could get the s2 or the 4s and still get the 5 next year

They took an extra 4+ months and this is what they brought to the table. Aside from Siri, there is no reason for an iPhone 4s. That said, the jailbreak team will have it running on earlier versions in no time.
Whats sad is that they knew this was going to be a garbage unveiling. Thats why they didnt book a bigger event and its also why they limited Siri to iPhone 4S.
Who here honestly believes the Siri app requires the specs of the "S?" They just slapped that on there so people would have to buy the new phone.
Furthermore, they still have the same failed antenna design with one more caveat added!!! Now, we have multiple antenna to potentially disrupt our signal.

Bragging about first photo .7 seconds faster then Droid Bionic?
Copying Android notifications ?
imessage is useless unless there was a Android/Blackberry App o that's right there is a app for that it's called SMS, MMS.
Siri is nothing new Android has had it for awhile now and I might add it's hardly ever used.

No LTE I guess AT&T doesn't have to rush out LTE now.

wtf is wrong with them. After such a long time just a new processor and better camera? I mean honestly I don't need that ****. I want a bigger screen, new and fresh design and much more battery or something else that matters. At least one of these points. But who was not satisfied with the speed or who cares about some games with better graphics?

Even if this all was decided by Jobs, Tim Cook isn't coming off very well. Lousy start to his tenure.Well, since May, I have been using my 2g (sold iPhone 4). So, even though I am extremely disappointed, I'm updating. Also, I just ordered a cheap case off ebay. It's a nice Sena case that was more than 50% off retail. Unfortunately, that's about the only good news about this keynote.

Bingo, bingo, bingo. I don't know how the heck people didn't see this coming. You don't unveil an all-new unicorn phone in front of 350 people.
And it's amazing how much people who think of themselves as tech aficionados are such slaves to fashion. Put the same phone in a different form factor and everybody's fine with it. But since it doesn't look any different, it's A MAJOR FAIL OMG OMG. "How am I supposed to show off if the phone looks the same?"
