Wow, just cos it's not had a redesign, people are throwing their toys out of the pram? the specs are fairly decent and pretty much on par with the rumors that even the 'redesigned iPhone 5' guys liked. Absurd!

Yeap. It's a solid mid-range phone. Why are people complaining?

dont most people that buy the iPhone 4 that get plastic cases make it look cheap?

i dont use a case and its the feel i am on about. the galaxy feels cheap, the iphone 4 feels like like quality. the samsung doesn't run ios either, which is the main reason i prefer iphone.

is the iphone 4 still a awesome phone? yes

did apple make an awesome phone better? yes

did apple not deliver the device we wanted to see? yes

I think the lack of LTE and no bigger display is a HUGE wtf! Nows we have to ask ourselves... whats going to happen this coming summer? an iphone 5 or will be have to wait until fall again now? I have been on an android device before and still feel nothing has completely surpassed the iphone, but certainly this sets a scene for a google-moto device to make a statement.

There's a difference: with the iPhone, you have an option. That's assuming I agree with the aforementioned statement about build quality with the SGS2, which I don't.

Apple needs to be concerned, these days it is the geeks like us who make or break a product.

I am so dismayed, the keynote was like a million dreams shattering to pieces. :(

No we aren't. We are a very small percentage of the market; same with people who want to jailbreak or root/ROM their android phone. For some reason, "we" seem to think we are much larger than we actually are.

Apple failed to manage the media rumors buzzing around the IPhone5, and this media BS produced unrealistic customer expectations. Big mistake Apple. It's going be expensive.

No it isn't. The average consumer is going to see it, like it, and buy it. They're playing th elong game. The larger install base with the iphone 4 won't feel too bad about not being able to upgrade, and the people who don't have an iPhone or a 3GS will upgrade as well. Then next year, when the 5 comes out, it will really be something "magical", and more people will bu it then.

They're playing off the fact that people have to have these 2 year contracts, which is a very smart thing to do.

With android, you get a phone and then realize, 4 months later, that something higher spec'd came out, and you notice how obsolete the phone is, due to the emphasis on specs.

Obviously my opinions.

Because they weren't ready to release it until now?

iOS 5 has to be finalized, which it will be on the 12th.

They had to assemble all of the damn things.

New processors and internals, along with having all of the radios in there as well.

So this phone has changed more so then prior generations that about 12 months was insufficient?

They could of released it with iOS 4...

If history has taught us anything about Apple, it is that they're going to release whatever the hell they want, and you can choose to come along or not. But they're still going to be making money hand over fist because their customer base consists of a lot more than us tech geeks who get so riled up over screen size, RAM, and GHz. They've never been obsessed with having the biggest and fastest devices on the market, so why does this come as such a shock to some of you?

sooo you like the Os over the quality of the phone. Why were you bitching about the galaxy's plastic case?

iPhone uses cheap glass from no-name chinese manufacturer on both front and back sides. Are you sure about your "feelings"? Not to mention the fact that plastic is way more practical.

I don't find it disappointing, It is something Apple decided to do, I'm sure the marketing department at Apple is a lot smarter than people give them credit for.. After all it is actually a relatively bad strategy to release all of your greatest innovations all at once (in my opinion). I'm 100% positive that Apple has quite a few more tricks up their sleeve, They are just waiting for the appropriate time to reveal/release them.

I felt the same way about the 3G-to-3GS launch. I'm content with my Android device, but I will be keeping an eye on the future of iOS. Either way, I don't buy things just because they are new, I buy things that work for me.

OK, that's what you think about Apple. But what do you think about iPhone 4S?

no other way around it

no 4g and same old boring design

hello samsung

It's only boring because we see it everywhere.
The none-4G is a big mistake. I still can't believe they called this an "iPhone Event" when it was clearly an iOS 5 Event, with a sh8tty showcase of an "updated" phone.

For anyone wanting to switch, WAIT until those fancy HD-screen phones arrive. With a HD-screen, you won't be missing the High DPI screen iPhone has. This is what I'm waiting for. (so I won't miss my "window as a screen")

You mean the gorilla glass?

Android phones moving forward with 4G network and LTE.

iphone still stuck with last gen 3G.

F U apple. F U....

Definitely going to jump ship to Galaxy S2.

Better luck next year apple.

It is the fastest device on the market. Proof

I'm definitely going to stay with iOS, but other than that, I agree.
Apple blew it.
This is ok for silent upgrade, but for the major keynote speech and 4s?
Is this all Apple can do?
Meh.
