That's still no where close to what Acid had originally said. It's no secret among college student that demand for them in these economic times are lowering quite substantially. Also, I would expect Germany to be doing well as they are the EU's strongest economy and number 5 in the world.

?

I think it looks somewhat close to what I said for Germany. Things are quite good for scientists in Germany and totally brutal in the US.

It amazes me how this conversation went from Apple having a few 'black out days' for the launch of a new product to talking about unemployment, co2 emissions from cars etc. I worked many years in retail and the blackout days sucked but if you really need the time off, ie. wedding or funeral, you were able to get it off. I would assume most Apple retail employees take their normal vacations around when assumed big product launches are to occur.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway. Don't these guys only get 10 vacations days or so per year?

Well given the rumors that we have right now a 14th launch lines up with the rumor announcement and gives about a week for pre orders.

to be blunt with you NO it is not. It is very far from it. Full employment being with a degree is less than 1/2 what it is now. It is very very far from what it is now.

4.1% unemployment for college graduates. I bet if you filtered out the liberal-arts and only looked at PhDs and engineers it would be tiny.

LOL thats what i thought, i waited 20 minutes in line on launch day of the 4 here and i was already getting impatient and many people left. i eventually got one that day but i guess we arent just the waiting or patient kind here

this is why america has no money, people rely on their credit cards they can never pay the bill for. whenever i stream US tv i'm always shocked how many "credit" or later payment advertisements there are. i would never buy anything i can't fully pay at once, i either wait til i can actually afford it or have to look for something cheaper

You sound exactly like me, that is what I did for my new iMac, saved my money for almost a year:D and as for people still being in debt, very true and the same trend continues. Not only the person who signed up for credit and it is also the credit companies fault they are still playing the old dirty tricks. You think banks have changed their attitudes? Nope still the same screwing happening. But I can not blame all on the banks and credit card companies, the ones that fall for this lies are uneducated customers.

Does not change the fact that no matter what degree it is far from what full employment. Also filter it some more and see if they were able to get a job in their respective field it would be bad.
Pay as lower.

It is pretty ugly right now and far from full employment.

Remember Apple allows you to buy everything on financing. I wonder if Apple required every customer to pay 100% cash up front how good their sales would really be!

Remember, just because customer does finance does not meant they can still pay it off.

But I have seen a fast food worker with a white iPhone 4, so I agree. Where does all the money come from?

People may also just spend their money on that and that's it. They may not have a decent car, a decent shelter, decent clothes, decent food, etc. They may just have a decent electronic (like an Apple item) and that's it. Or maybe they don't save a penny and just spend spend spend.

So basically spend on a iPhone but live in a cardboard box? LOL :D

That's because some people never miss an opportunity to bash "America"....never mind the context of this discussion. As long as there are children hungry in Africa, we "Americans" can't say that we can't wait for the next iPhone, otherwise we are shallow and uncaring. Hey, but germans can spend a month drinking beer and that's "Culture".....</soapbox>

Just to be picky [and because it seems as though none of you have ever studied even rudimentary economics], full employment is defined as 4%-6% unemployment. This is the ideal balance between employment and inflation. Thus, 4.1% unemployment is easily full employment.

Anyways.... to get back to the topic of the thread....

I do believe these are the dates as followed:

Oct 4th: Media Event with announcement of iPhone 5 and iOS 5 GM released

Oct 10th: iOS 5 released to public

Oct 14th: iPhone 5 is released for sale

Your welcome.

4%-6% unemployment is what your government calls full employment.
That is not really full employment. Full = 0% unemployment ie everyone has a job.

I don't see how full (being everyone has a job) can be any more then 0% unemployed cause of the definition.

It's just like here - trains on time = up to 10 mins late (says our government). On time is not late though. They call a late train on time. Just to cover their own ass when people complain cause they are late.

It's just the usual - various world governments feeding us bµllsh¡t as usual.

can't wait, my apple store is in the mall so idk how camping out would work. When the iPad 2 was released i just went after school and the line wasn't that long and i was able to get an iPad. But if it is on the 14th (fri), i might take off that day and run in. The only question is if there will be a line of campers waiting to run in or the security officers guiding the line up to the store. This s if i decide to get the new one in the first place.

Oh, No, you wont be getting one, nahh, it sounds like your def not gonna be there. yea im pretty sure your just gonna let the 14th come and go. lol

It's what economists around the world call full employment, because - again - of the balance between employment and inflation.

Take me with you, please. :apple:

I'm actually an American expat and I went for the first time last year in full Lederhosen and it was wonderful.

If you ever fly into Frankfurt in late September, send me a pm and I can arrange something.
