Just when I decided to skip this year meaningless gimmick 13 and keep my 11, wife bought me cool all-in-one belkin stand with magsafe. Not excited at all about swapping my 11 for same guts 13 with magsafe.

I hope you’re right, love my crisp white mini led iPad display 😁 if we get proper white displays, I’ll be on the first flight to Vegas to party. 💃🕺😂
Yes, please come. Resorts world just opened. It took 10 years to have this casino up! It’s beautiful!!!

Thats $4.3 billion dollars.

Not entirely sure if I go for this years’ iPhone or next year’s portless one. I want to know how portless Apple can go. 100% wireless and good bye for connecting to any computer, or still can connect to computer somehow. Or Apple has figured out delivering 20W charging through charging pad?

As for this year, all I care really is the camera and nothing else. I want iPhone to take decent photos under mid to low light conditions (poorly lit areas, in the dawn/twilight etc). Also the ability to properly take pictures of small font texts from a distance and still retain its contents properly. Live text you know.

Could use the return of Touch ID with people worldwide likely to wear masks for decades to come, just like how you see Asians wearing masks pre-COVID due to SARS from 2001.

I have a bad feeling about this. With the iPhone 12 being the super cycle and most keeping older models longer; this does not look good for sales for basically an ‘s’ year. It’s likely to be like 2018 with the XR and XS having to be significantly discounted to drive sales. Apple should be cautious not to create a glut.

where I live, every hand I look at is an iPhone 12. People are still buying it now; was at the Apple store this week and people were buying iPhone 12’s. Don’t get me wrong, the iPhone 13 will do well, I just hope Apple doesn’t over produce and look at sales from a realistic upgrade cycle.

2022 is where the push should be, since that’s the year the remaining hold outs on a XS or X and 11 series will think about upgrading.

Is smaller notch really a big upgrade? Do people really care for it? I never understood people going crazy about the notch.

My wishlist would be having better signal for verizon and att. I keep changing them once in a few years hoping for a better signal. It used to be so bad in some of the metro areas during peak travel hours.

Keep in mind the vast majority of the world doesn't even have access to 5G yet, let alone a 5G device or a 5G subscription. Today, 70% of the world's 5G base stations are in China. There are fewer than 500 million 5G subscriptions globally out of 8 billion. This means there's plenty of growth left.

iPhone XR was a major seller due to the form factor. The iPhone 13 family will continue to be a great seller due to 5G. iPhone 14 will be another major form factor refresh.

There are over a billion iPhones out in the world today.

But most of them are not iPhone 11 and 12. There are still iPhone 8, X, Xr, and Xs out in the world.

In short... there will be plenty of people who could upgrade this year... even though it's an "S" year.

Who knows... maybe 90 million from September to December might not be enough!

:p

Why does it sound crazy? There are many more company's than Apple, which manufacture in the millions 🙄
Yes, other manufactures do pump out phones in the millions. However, those manufactures do not sell one single model that produces 65+ million in a quarter or two.

Take for instance Samsung, there is about 50-80 different phone launches from bargain to high end yearly. It takes them that many models to outsell Apple who at any given time has maybe 4-7 iPhones for sale if you include the XR, 11, SE and 12 series. That is what is impressive.

Samsung is lucky if the S21 series even gets them 35 million sold units. The rest of the numbers are relying on the few dozen devices currently in production WORLDWIDE. Lets see... A11, A12, A21, A32, A42, A52,A62, A72, Z Fold, Z Flip, M02, M02s... the list goes on and on. It is quite ridiculous when you start to dive into just how many devices are produced.

* for each of those mid range and low end devices is an S model that slightly changes it specs or display size to launch in separate countires. How obnoxious!*

X-Mas was a rather degrading term (meaning Christmas) used by some commercial interests too allow for more room for additional advertising. It was used most prominently around the middle of last century.
It is an early Christian thing. In the early Christian church X stood for Christ because, it was the sign of the cross.

X-Mass. the day the Catholic Gnostic and Orthodox churches celebrate Mass for Christ.

What is “X-Mas”?
Abbreviation for Christmas.
can't tell if you're joking.
Not everyone is a native english speaker and knows abbreviation or slangs, and it took about the same to write Christmas than to post your reply.

Some kidness here and there is not a bad thing!

Thank you for going the distance there!

I only buy phones with touch ID. Sticking with SE until they pull their heads out their behinds. And fix SIRI while you're at it. I just watched some youtube on Jobs and I have to believe he would be pissed at this point.

Let's go!!! Apple to the moon!!! 🌝

Even better, it pushed well above 147 today(for about 30 minutes, that's millions of traders buying and digging in at that level). Unfortunately the market macros pushed the stock back down to mid 145s. I was greatly hoping for it to get near 150 as I expect 150 will see resistance and the price will ride back into the 144-146 zone to build volume and support, Let the relative strength indicator get back in the ball park of 50 before earnings announce in a couple of weeks. With superb earnings (I suspect they will be) it could cause a full punch through 150. Then the conversation turns to 160 :)

No Touch ID under the display, no iPhone 13. Will stay with my XS Max. Makes the same great photos as advertised when it was released. And it runs still fast enough.
In between I have bought a Hisense A7CC as a secondary "summer phone". Great display in direct sunlight. Of course with all flaws of E-Ink, but the screen is usable outside of any building in summer.

I have a iPhone X which I got at launch and there’s nothing this year that makes me want to upgrade. Another year wait as there’s just nothing wrong with the X

For me to upgrade Apple would need to

1 remove the notch. I am not bothered by the notch at all but it would make me feel like I am using a different phone if they removed it. Shrinking it a little bit left and right in the new 13 does not look like a improvement. If Apple had shrunk it up into the bezel that might of tempted me

2 reduce the camera bump. Hate how they are making them bigger. Just not interested in bigger bumps

3 better battery in the smaller versions.

4 shrink the bezels

5 touch under display for extra security to go with Face ID

That’s about it I think phones now are just not exciting anymore and used to upgrade once every two years.

I just upgraded my iPad which I have had for 8 years. And even that’s not that exciting anymore. Upgrades to me now are all about running things smoothly now and the iPhone X does just that.
