Forget the Mac Pros... where the hell is the update to the Thunderbolt display!?!? :apple::apple::apple:

Are you kiddin... All of apple computers on the same interface!!!! No way, if the mac pros get thunderbolt, apple will come up with something new ! Since mini display port I do not remember the whole range having the same interface.

On a serious note, you will need a video card with TB. To my knowledge none exist so if apple wants to sell monitors for mac pros they need to be mini display port.

This is the reason I still own a 2010 iMac, it allows me to display video from my pc via display port. The thunderbolt iMacs lost that ability.

FInally! Apple may have realized people use their computers to store stuff on and need memory to do so! Yay! :) :apple: :)

Thunderbolt is DisplayPort + bus (like PCI).

2 TB SOLID STATE?? I can just imagine the price.

Ah well. Good to know they're keeping up on the development of the Mac Pro. Long live the Pro

Newegg today - 1.2 TB SSD for $3500. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227724

Just imagine a bigger one with the Apple Tax added....

Any mac pro news to me is good news. But 2TB SSD's in the new mac pro sounds awesome.

This just got interesting!

Buit it will probably be SATA I at 1.5 Gbps....

Up to 8TB of SSD. What am I Bill Gates? Average man cannot afford this.

The Mac Pro isn't for the average man. It's for people and businesses that need intense computing power to bring in money.

a $10,000 Mac Pro isn't all that huge of an investment when your business is making $20,000 per 2-3 week job for broadcast motion graphics.

If it makes you feel better, I can't afford it just for myself either, though.

What's a Mac Pro?

I think it's a computer for pros, but I'm not sure.

I just got a tingle in my dingle.

Getting a little racy in here.

I won't buy it.

Darn and here I was soooooooooo hoping you were...

Please stop questioning the intelligence of others.

You're not in a position to do so.

Are you in a position to tell others to stop questioning the intelligence of others?

Hopefully Intel will add Thunderbolt capabilities to the Xeon processors. I believe that's one of the main reasons there hasn't been a new release.

There are no "Thunderbolt capabilities" in the Core i? processors, so why would it need to be added to the Xeons?

Or are you saying that Xeons should have integrated GPUs? (I think that I just threw up in my mouth a little....)

It was a colossal mistake to embed DisplayPort into the T-Bolt design. Now, at least, people should be realizing what a mistake that was.

I'll skip the 2 tb SSD and hope for

USB 3
Thunderbolt (at least 2)
Ease to put in a SATA DVD/BD unit

My wish list that wont happen -
Smaller footprint
slight drop in price
third party "slot" units to go where disc drive in front go so that an SSD can be 'inserted' or some other 2.5 drive.
updated graphics cards that are not last generation etc.

Agreed except for the DVD part. I hope they remove the slot and lower the footprint. Externals are pretty small now

overkill

Given, Apple has decided that burning DVD's is passé. Why would anyone need two 2TB? Most people use their computer for email, internet, word processing and perhaps games...If you do not download and assemble mp4 or mov files to be burned or duplicate DVD's you don't need more than 500MB HD.
I would guess it will be so expensive, few people will be buying one.

It's probably just a 2TB fusion drive, maybe with a 512gb SSD as the flash part.

A 2TB SSD at apples prices would be like....$5,000

Wasn't there comments that Fusion could be applied to and SSD made of fast and slow NAND.

So maybe 2TB with +128GB fastest NAND and the rest slow cheap bulk FLASH which would still be much faster than a spinning disk at probably not such a premium.
