While Apple is a US company, this doesn't make them look good in international eyes.

Issues:

1. For starters US is only place with Apple Card, so only US buyers get 24 months easy interest free credit on everything bought via their Apple Card. Non-US buyers however are being expected to suck-up 15% APR rates options from Apple's credit partners (Barclays & Paypal), with no interest free credit facilities (outside of iPhones). Who at Apple thought that was a decent idea, as devices get more & more expensive?
2. Apple Card already gives US purchasers 3% off already.
3. Now the same group of buyers are being another 3% discount, on top of the previous 3%.

International buyers already have to pay more for items, yet we get no interest free credit at all, nor any discounts on things like a new MBP costing £6K+. Ridiculous, and makes Apple money-grabbing off loyal non-US buyers at every turn. ?
It may have more to do with international laws (or unfavorable financial terms) than a deliberate slighting of people outside the US by Apple. I get the frustration though.

Sure, but they've at the very least offered interest free credit facilities in previous years. So why not this year, all of a sudden?

How great for Twitter users! They can report about the 6% *and* also humble brag/display to the world how many thousands of dollars they've spent at the Apple Store. /flex /winning@life

God, I hate Twitter.

Wow. Nice perk. Just checked to see it applied to my MacBook Pro order as well. Maybe it will be for certain orders that exceed a particular amount in the future.

You feeling ok today, sir?

If permanent, I say about time, especially when you realize Amazon offers TWO cards with 5% back.
It will not be permanent.. MY humble opinion.

this MIGHT be a promo that was going around a few months ago for NEW Card sign-ups, that they could get an increased discount (I think it was double the discount) for all purchases for a certain period, maybe 60-90 days) so I’d like to know about these people who received the 6% discount and if they are a fairly NEW card holder.

I didn’t see the 6% for my MBP 14” pre-order but I do see the 6% on the series 7 I just placed with installment plan. I’ve had the card for over a year now.

This might entice me to buy the iFold.

I might sign up for an apple card..if I buy the macbook pro 14 inch which EDU is 1849.99 how much off would the 6 percent cash back get me on the purchase(Yeah I know, I stink at math just want an idea to see if its worth filling out the application for the card)

Hmmm. Just to see if there is any pattern... My charge dropped at 11:53 am EST today. Order was made at around 1:56 pm when the Store reopened after the announcement. Plain full payment order, no payment plan, educational or other discounts. Not a new card. 3% listed. Just trying to see if there is a recognizable pattern as to who is getting a reported 6%, for instance if the 6% promo kicked in for charges after noon (when they first started being reported)....

Order placed at 6:07pm on release day from the Apple website, not the app. Used Apple Card installment plan and had an education discount applied (not that it matters, but I’m a student); I am only getting 3% back as of right now.

Im creating an order for the 13 and it shows 3%. Meh. I will wait for the 14 I think. Going to need a new battery in my 7s though.

I’ve been a card holder since essentially the beginning (first few days IIRC). I got the 6%
