I just ordered a MBP and it’s not showing any % cash back in my wallet. :(

Good Promo applicable to all the new products which takes away that * little asterisk. While it’s coming up it hasn’t been announced yet. Probably only applies to certain countries

WOW Ok so that is worth signing up right there..thing is when I go to apply on the very top it says

Apply for Apple Card.

Created by Apple, as secure and simple as iPhone.
No fees1 and up to 3% Daily Cash back.
Apply and use right away.

Says only 3 percent..and would the 6 percent cash back apply for EDU orders as well?

Still don’t understand why the UK still doesn’t have Apple Card or Apple Cash.
Because UK & European financial laws are much more strict on things like cashback/bonuses/promotional facilities than US ones, as our laws are designed to stop citizens being overly persuaded to get into debt via such offers.

In the US, in very simple terms, it's a free-for-all, where credit companies can offer all sorts of (often rip-off) credit facilities with promotions that are essentially taxes on often debt-ridden non-payers.

That's why (in the UK at least) you typically don't see 'points collecting' cards that are worth wasting your time with. Except for Amex cards that can be good things like flight points, but most others are not.

IDEA...

Why doesn't a card owner here phone Apple (or Apple Card team) and clarify what this 6% is all about?

It'd help end all the unclear speculation about what it is/isn't.

It will not be permanent.. MY humble opinion.

this MIGHT be a promo that was going around a few months ago for NEW Card sign-ups, that they could get an increased discount (I think it was double the discount) for all purchases for a certain period, maybe 60-90 days) so I’d like to know about these people who received the 6% discount and if they are a fairly NEW card holder.
I just got my card last week. Nike has a get $75 back if you spend $75 deal for new Apple Card holders.

If this is the case, I may end up buying the S7 and trading in my SE -- especially with the 6% Apple is giving us.

Why Heck. With that discount I can now afford to buy a couple three of those polishing cloths!

While Apple is a US company, this doesn't make them look good in international eyes.

Issues:

1. For starters US is only place with Apple Card, so only US buyers get 24 months easy interest free credit on everything bought via their Apple Card. Non-US buyers however are being expected to suck-up 15% APR rates options from Apple's credit partners (Barclays & Paypal), with no interest free credit facilities (outside of iPhones). Who at Apple thought that was a decent idea, as devices get more & more expensive?
2. Apple Card already gives US purchasers 3% off already.
3. Now the same group of buyers are being another 3% discount, on top of the previous 3%.

International buyers already have to pay more for items, yet we get no interest free credit at all, nor any discounts on things like a new MBP costing £6K+. We don't expect the cashback, but withdrawing the usual interest free credit facilities as well is ridiculous, as it turns a £6K cost into a £7K cost.

It really does make Apple come across as money-grabbing off their loyal non-US buyers at every turn. ?
24 months ? I thought it is only 12

Ordered a new MBP at launch (within 10 minutes of the store coming back up on monday), got charged 4 hours ago and showing 6% cash back on it.

Just checked and as of seven hours ago my Apple Wallet reflects 6% cash back for both the extended warranty and the 14" MacBookPro M1 Max. It has also changed to "preparing to ship" status. The Max will arrive on the 26th of October, next Tuesday.

Just ordered a fully spec'd iPad Mini 6 about an hour ago... it shows the standard 3% cash back on the pending transaction, so about $30. I've had the card since they launched it, and I've already benefited from the first go-round of the 6% offer back then on my 2019 16" MBP.

An additional $30 back on this purchase would be nice, but not going to waste time canceling / returning, especially since no such discount program has been officially announced, so you can't tell until you commit to the order. Usually the 6% has only applied to new cardholders or those who haven't received the bonus discount before.

Now, nothing compares to the Apple Pay + Discover Card 10% cash back + unlimited-double-your-rewards promo that happened a few years ago. That was effectively 20% cash back for new cardholders. Talking about winning on that one. Puts 3% vs 6% in a different perspective.

I've realized you can go through life trying to optimize and get every possible discount, or you can be happy with what you do have, smile, and be grateful that we are fortunate to even afford this stuff in the first place.

my watch 7 is still in process, i want to cancel it and re-order one using apple card paid in full, but if they charge my card when they ship out (end of November), what if by that time the 6% promotion is over?

I did and was told there was no such promotion and to “not believe everything on the internet.”

Well you can try. Just phone Apple and ask to switch the card they're going to charge you on shipping day.

Just placed my order yesterday for late November early December BTO. Used Apple Card for purchase (hope to see that 6%!) - plus I used ID.me for Veteran and Military Purchase Program (saving 10% on my transaction!

So indeed if I have saved 13-16% - major kudo's to Apple and affiliates.

If it stays at 6% I will purchase expensive external 4K-6K display.

Whenever I use my Apple Card I pay it off immediately after receipt of items. Have had mine since initial rollout.
