Is this happening for anyone else? It's been going on for 2 hours now. I've rebooted the phone, disabled all VPN profiles and content blockers and tried it on LTE & Wifi. Running 12.4

I did not receive an email but I was able to apply this morning. TU score 760, credit utilization 8%, no negatives, most cards have high limits up to $50k. Had to upload my ID during the application process. Texas here.

I was told the same thing..applied day one, received card today.
Priority overnight via fedex. No signature required for anyone that’s wondering
Did you get any notification from the app? I got approved day one as well and I haven’t seen anything.

I think it is because of all the hype -- I am starting to feel that way at least -- but the roll-out is sub-par at best. Don't pick and choose people -- send it to everyone who signed up -- those are the ones who showed interest in the card. I guess over the next few days, invites will be going out sporadically. Crazy if you ask me -- just crazy.
If they send it all out at once I bet it would cause issues. Best to roll it out over a week or 2 to spread out the load.

Same here. Got my invite Tuesday morning and still getting the error. Tried closing the app, restarting the phone, ID matches email, tried the link that’s going around, and running dev beta 6 but no luck.

Maybe they got over jealous on sending out invites?

I put total household income - $148,000 - little to no debt - not sure of ratio but would be very, very low. Live in Florida. FICO = 827, rate 17.99%

so you have a high credit score, a high household income and you get an interest rate on the higher end. hmm...i wonder if maybe having a lower household income would net us a lower interest rate? not sure whats going on. you would think a high credit score should give you a low interest rate.

Received my invite this AM and got it immediately setup. Just waiting for that beauty in the mail. Surprised I received a 17.99% Oh well...I'm in the club

This is a general message to anyone complaining about interest rates - you should pay off your balance in full each month. The interest rate should never come into play. In general, people that are being charged interest are a higher risk to Goldman Sachs and they indeed will get a higher interest rate.

this is not true. while yes, it is best to pay off any balance on your credit card each month, especially for cards with a high interest rate, having a very small balance is still good to maintain each month.a couple hundred dollars each month is fine to carry over. it will not hurt your credit score, just as long as it's a low balance. it shows you using the credit you have available, it shows your an active buyer and really, the credit agencies want to see you using your credit limit responsibly.

Mayhaps. I even contacted Apple Card support but they couldn’t help me due to being on iOS 13. If you’re in 12.4 and have an invite while getting the error I would give them a call. Wouldn’t hurt.

I'm a little surprised, too. My FICO is 826 and I also got a 17.99% rate. I'm still deciding if I want to do this - that's a crappy interest rate.

All CC rates are crappy. Some are more crappy. Some less. But crap just the same. It should be irrelevant because you should never pay this crap interest. To be honest I don’t even care about this rate and never pay attention to it.

Received the invite and applied, took about 5 minutes total including scanning my driver's license. Will receive the physical card in the mail in 4-6 days.

$20k CL @ 12.99% APR

I got a 17.99% rate and $7500 limit. I think thats the lowest rate I've ever gotten on a card, its usually like 23-24%. Roughly a 750 credit score. I never pay too much attention to what the rate it though, I have been lucky and never had to worry about interest rates to date.

Umm. No. You don’t pay cc interest. If you want to maintain a small balance the zero percent cards are out there.

Just paying stmt balances will usually result in having a small balance reported. But it really doesn’t matter. It doesn’t help your credit having unpaid cc balances.

However pay off a car and watch it drop. Or a mortgage. I remember the smile on face as I paid off car. Boom. Lost 30 points. Lol. They like seeing a credit mix. An active one. Go figure.

Finally. NYC. Never received email but registered just after event too.

Opened Wallet and clicked the icon and still nothing. Then opened the link from iMessage I has pasted and clicked Continue. Waited for the usual error but was finally surprised with the offer.

Complaining as many others with 820+ getting 17.99% but I’m a deadbeat do I don’t care.

I have an 820 Transunion FICO score and I got the same limit and interest rate that you did!

That makes no sense. Why would I want to pay interest on something if I don't need to? I understand situations arise where someone may be in a pinch and has to accept that they cannot pay the bill in full each month, but it's definitely not a good thing to do. 20% interest rate on $200 is $40. That's $40 you are wasting. Sure the CC companies love it, but for the consumer there is no real advantage to not paying it off.

I've gotten to the point where I think this process has been asinine. I'm not frustrated that I signed up just minutes after the event have have not gotten an invite, but I'm disappointed in Apple. It's not an issue of fairness or favoritism, but one of meeting expectations.

People seem to forget that overall Fico score is only part of the equation. The people with higher scores but also higher interest may have something on their profile that presents more “risk” to the lender. Could be as simple as opening several accounts in a short period of time, just as an example. Everybody’s profile is different, which is evidenced by the range of scores and the rates/limits given in this thread.

I signed up and was approved about an hour ago. My life has not changed for the better or worse. It really is not a big deal, it's just a credit card. If they unleashed this to all the masses at once and there were issues people would be losing their minds. Better to do a small/slow rollout.

Nobody knew early invites were going to be a thing. The signup page was to be notified when it was available. Nothing more, nothing less, unless I’m missing something.
