the official launch of the apple card was said to be happening later this month. so thats one thing.

also, with people with good credit getting high interest rates, i wonder, do those same people have the same interest rate on their other credit cards? what if they are just matching what you currently have on other cards? that could be another factor.

also, with credit karma, it tracks TU and Equifax right? what good app is there that will do experian?

If you watch that video, I got a 17.99% APR with the apple card. I also have a 17.99% on my Chase Sapphire Reserve. I have a 820+ credit score. It's just the nature of credit cards and it's not like interest rates matter since it's all paid off anyway.

Carrying a balance month-to-month is causing you to pay unnecessary interest. If you let a statement cut, and then pay in full you are essentially doing the same thing as carrying a balance each month, but without paying any interest.

For example, if my limit is $10K and I charge $1000 and let the statement cut my utilization is 10%. If I pay that amount in full by the due date I pay zero interest. Rinse and repeat that cycle.

Thank you... I was just about to post something along these lines, but you've saved me the effort!

Credit Karma doesn't give you FICO scores. Lots of banks, credit unions and credit card issuers offer FICO scores for free, provided that you're one of their customers.

I wonder if some people with good / high credit scores getting high(er) interest rates is a way for Goldman Sachs to feel better about giving the card out to subprime cardholders. A way for them to mitigate the risk of subprime lending in a way. (Not fair to those with great credit - but it get's the card in more people's hands and hopefully in a couple months their rate will go down). Just a thought.

I use Experian’s own app in conjunction with Credit Karma and like it quite a bit. It only updates their FICO score once a month, but that’s been fine for me. I’m not sure exactly how the account-creation process works coming in cold, since I created my (free) Experian account a couple of years ago after getting my free annual report from them.

Why does both of your activities have 7 bar graphs?? Mine only has 5. Hmmm

So I made a purchase to see the card change color and now I have 5 bars (days)

Btw - 5 bars indicates weeks and not days... I think this is because you are showing "Monthly Activity". August lapses over 5 weeks this year, causing there to be 5 bars. To get 7, it has to display weekly activity. If you click on the Monthly Activity area and then on the top right corner, click 'View Weekly', it'll change to weekly and 7 bars (days)!

Got it, that makes sense and it did change. Thanks.

I made a couple purchases and indeed the card changes to the colors of the categories. At a glance it's nice to see which categories you are spending in just by color. It shows the colors on both the iPhone and the apple watch.

I don’t know why this is exciting but it is. Yup it changed on my watch too.

Holy crap I love Daily Cash. My friend wanted to buy a Mac with my company’s discount and I put it on my Apple Card.

Came out to $2,000, he sent me the money to my account and I got $60 to my Apple Cash Card the next day.

Sooo much better than the points game these credit card companies play.

All about perspective my friend. For example, that immediate cash that you got on that $2,000 is nice, but the “points game” these credit card companies play can be far more lucrative than daily cash for a lot of people than cash back. For example, you got $60 off that $2,000 spent (your 3% cash back. With the “points game”, I just spent $9000 these last two months, and with that $ I got 3 nights at a Hyatt in return, worth over $650 after taxes. So I received almost a 7.5% return on my money. That same amount spent on the Apple Card would have only gotten me $270 in cash back.

It can be well worth it to play the points game for most people who care to put in the small bit of effort when it comes to the self education needed to work it properly.

Same here!! After seeing your post I checked my FED EX App, and there she is in all her glory, waiting for FED EX to come get her later today!! :) It shows delivery set for Monday before 10:30am. Priority Overnight is next Business Day, so we get it Monday.

I am shocked to see Apple using FED EX overnight on a free card. With their being no fee's, I would have figured they would send by regular mail like every other credit card.
yeah fedex priority overnight is overkill, i guess they want the card in people's hands ASAP, so they can start using it. LOL sucks no delivery on Saturday's. :( LOL

Society is really on a downward slope. People are excited to be "invited" to apply for a credit card. Some view it as an honour and privilege. And to top it off, a card involving Goldman Sachs. Do some basic research people.

looks like the invites stopped. Twitter is quiet
They have to create all those accounts, and then they have to laser etch all those cards.

Just talked to Goldman Sacks to check on my card and they said they send also a push message out when it ships.

I have 804+ credit score and I have a higher interest rate with my 3 other cards than with the Apple Card.

For Experian, I just Experian.

This, spot on. I usually just pay off my balance whenever I make a purchase instead of dragging over balances and having to pay more, so it doesn't really matter to me.

So, you're above it all, yet on this thread? Why can't you let people as individuals decide what's important to them instead of judging them and making sweeping statements about how this reflects on society? Everyone here knows this is a first world, minor problem or accomplishment, but still have the right to be either excited or disappointed.

Yeah, only way I knew mine is shipping today is I just happened to check my FED EX app to see if anything was heading to my house after seeing someone else post this morning that theirs was shipping today. My wallet app still shows its on order and no emails yet but FED EX shows me the better answer I wanted lol

I am all about the points game if you travel, but for the average Joe something simple like the Citi doublecash or even the Apple Card will suffice. Most people are not point tracking and category spending like you or I. My wife travels for work, and her hotel/airfare points have paid in full for two $20K+ vacations. It blows my mind.

Of course everyone has the right to be excited or disappointed. Me commenting certainly does not prevent either from happening. Unfortunately many many people are uninformed about one of the major players in the 2008 financial crisis so if my input can nudge one or more readers into doing some research so they can make a decision with a bit more information, no harm done.

Yes confirmed it with goldman sacks that they send a sms message out to your phone when your card is shipping.

Also told the rep that 5% off on Apple purchases would be good or 0% interest for 24 months would be great and they are looking for suggestions to make the card even better for customers.
