I've been keeping up with this thread for days now, anxiously awaiting an invitation that has not yet come :( haha

Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it said they would do the launch within the first half of August? Assuming they didn't mean this little preview period, all of us waiting to sign up should get to do so within the next few days right? Trying to stay positive here lol

I wonder if location has anything to do with it. I'm a US resident but am in Europe for the summer and I have not received the invite nor it hasn't showed up in my wallet. I guess we'll know soon enough once they open up the application to everyone.

How would apple know you are in Europe tho?

Hahaha

Am wondering what change might happen to iPhone upgrade program with the launch of Apple Card. will Apple Card be just another one in the series of eligible cards for IUP or some terms will change. I haven't seen much information around this on any forum or portal.

There is language in the apple card agreement that allows for interest free financing - presumably they will use this for iphone sales.

Pass. There is no compelling reason for me to bite on the :apple:Card, as my Citi DoubleCash card (which is a MasterCard WorldElite card) gives me 2% cash back for *everything*.

Indeed. This thread perfectly illustrates how the majority of respondents will uncritically swill the KoolAid without so much as looking at details.

- at its introduction, the card was touted as having “reasonable interest rate”, which was a lie, as the interest rate is 24% - which is the maximum allowed by law. Yes, there are lower tiers that you need to qualify for, and 99% of you won’t qualify for that. That announcement and claim alone were insult enough.

- yes, you get discounts and cash back, all of which are restricted and have limitations, while other cards have the top %age cash back on everything.

- yes, it has a shiny metal card that looks cool (it does) and could be argued to be Jony’s thinnest Apple product ever (hint: Jony didn’t design it), but that isn’t worth getting snowed by Apple.

There was a time when Apple would have negotiated and mandated a truly reasonable interest rate, and would have needed to resort to falsehoods and misrepresentations - unfortunately, it appears that attitude died with Steve Jobs.

Not interested in that card.

Just one question... what card has 3% back on everything without restriction? Let alone without an annual fee?

In checking things out I saw that you can see where and how you used the card. It shows the store’s name and it’s location on on a map. It can send me on a guilt trip when I see all the trips to Mickey “D’s.” :)
