Dang, feels like I am back in high school. I never got invited to any of the cool kids parties. ;)

Oh well...guess I shall stop pathetically checking my Wallet app every hour on the hour looking for my invite. Congrats to those who got their cards. Have to admit, they do look pretty nice.

Time to put my phone on the charger now for awhile. ;)

I’m with you on that, was really hoping to add this to my arsenal of cards, but I guess that waiting isn’t too bad might end up waiting to apply to lower my utilization to damn near zero coming up soon.

Indeed. This thread perfectly illustrates how the majority of respondents will uncritically swill the KoolAid without so much as looking at details.

- at its introduction, the card was touted as having “reasonable interest rate”, which was a lie, as the interest rate is 24% - which is the maximum allowed by law. Yes, there are lower tiers that you need to qualify for, and 99% of you won’t qualify for that. That announcement and claim alone were insult enough.

- yes, you get discounts and cash back, all of which are restricted and have limitations, while other cards have the top %age cash back on everything.

- yes, it has a shiny metal card that looks cool (it does) and could be argued to be Jony’s thinnest Apple product ever (hint: Jony didn’t design it), but that isn’t worth getting snowed by Apple.

There was a time when Apple would have negotiated and mandated a truly reasonable interest rate, and would have needed to resort to falsehoods and misrepresentations - unfortunately, it appears that attitude died with Steve Jobs.

Not interested in that card.

i think they know. They just don’t care or need things simple. Yes the physical card looks cool but apple positioned it as something you don’t (or shouldn’t) want to use. You may as well put the card in a drawer. The benefits suck. The security? Adding any cc to Apple Pay will do basically the same. The Apple Card is aimed at subprime users. For them it’s probably not that bad a card. Heck watch how excited they are. “It changes colors!” “I got 7k limit! Wow”. Lol.

Points are better because how they can be redeemed. Chase freedom unlimited earns 1.5% but they can be transferred to sapphire for a higher redemption at least at 1.5X. This makes that 1.5% really 2.25%. On all purchases. Amex business plus is effectively 3% on all purchases because of how you can redeem them. US bank altitude is effectively 3.75% on all Apple Pay purchases because they can be redeemed for more. The list goes on...

Really don't think you get it at all. Yee, some cards have more cash, some cards have more points. Go with those if that is what you are looking for. This card won't beat that.

Nice! How many cards do you carry in it?

main card (Amex plat) is in the front slot, cash in the back slot, and then ID, transit card, and visa/MasterCard (in case Amex not accepted) in the middle. So 3 total in the middle part.

My question is, how are we going to be able to link the  card to apps like Mint or Acorns since there’s no login credentials or website.

Apparently we're not, which is a big deal for some of us. The card management looks great, as long as you don't want to integrate it with savings, checking, investment, retirement or even other credit cards. :|

Not botched as much as unfair to a lot of people who signed up the day of the event. Random, my ass.

You seem to be very upset, even bitter. How is this "unfair"?

Disappointed, not upset. I'm not going to get into this with you, and I'm not the only one on this thread who feels the same.

Interesting, the Apple Pay rep I spoke to via the phone said it was random lottery, cant get an invite via calling or emailing Tim Cook. Though I bet she was mistaken as she said "Anyone who said differently is lieng"

So… once I get invited, accepted, and have my Apple Credit card, will the Jonny Ives designed genuine leather sleeve with Aluminium accents ($89.95) that will be released have an option for Apple Care+. Because I don’t want to risk having to use a damaged platinum card.

No need for me! This is my all time favorite front pocket wallet. Love how it closes so when the pockets get worn the cards just wont dump out.

I thought the color of the card was going to be a silvery titanium color. It's not. It's white! I'm not talking about the card in the app that changes color as you use it for different category purchases , I'm talking about the physical card. Kinda disappointed in a way. I wonder how the matte white will age?

Ya definitely not silvery! The edges are silver and shiny. But its a freakin solid card. I love the feel of it. You can definitely feel the apple quality!!

Anyone not want their card? Won’t charge a lot to it. Just tired of waiting for an invite. Lol

I guess we could start to speculate on the full release, I'm tired of waiting for the invite as well.

Does someone have a copy of the email that was sent out to invitees? Someone mentioned a date of 8/15 to sign up by, I wanted to confirm this. If so, I'm guessing the wide release is after that date.

There was nothing in the email about applying before August 15th. There was nothing in the email about applying before any date.

From the email:
“You wanted to be one of the first to get Apple Card — a new kind of credit card created by Apple, not a bank. And starting today, we’re giving you early access so you can help us get ready for the public launch. Which means you’ll experience Apple Card before everybody else.”

I don't know who delivered the initial info of the 15th, but this is good to know. The card could be released anytime then.

Had an error using it today, said "This card not supported." Switched to another card still using Apple Pay and it worked fine.

Think that is part of the reason for the small invite. I may wait awhile on the card. It’s not that important to me. But, something new and shiny to play with. I do find it’s unique features interesting.

Check the Wallet app. I never got an invite even though I signed up back when they announced it, and then randomly decided to check it today and turns out the application was available to me this whole time. Got approved immediately.

Have you received any sort of email yet even after the fact? If not, this could possibly be another round of invites.

I'm reading Macrumors late on a Saturday night, of course I'll take any glimmer of hope I can get.

Nope. Only email was the one I got confirming my opening of an Apple Card account.
