So after owning my Apple Watch for about 5 months and wearing it everyday it got caught in a car door and suffered some pretty gnarly scratches. I have Apple Care so I ended up sucking it up paying the $72 with tax and having it sent in to be repaired/replaced. My repair status update now says that technicians inspected my product and are sending it back with a letter containing more info. What does that mean??? The scuffs aren't deemed "significant" enough to be repaired? I figure if I bought the apple care, paid for the repair, and watched it come out of my bank account that it should be replaced. If anyone knows if I should be prepared to be livid Monday morning when it comes back or what please let me know.

That's the problem with insurance (AppleCare+), you have to make a claim in which they get to decide whether or not to fulfill their obligation. I got it with AW0 and I'm sure it helped in selling it. Now I'm deciding whether to get it for AW2. Your story is helping me decide. Sounds like you'll be denied your claim, perhaps with Apple saying your AW is not broken, just badly scratched up.

Prepare to be livid.

May not even be badly scratched up hence why I'm asking for pics. We've had too many members make a claim only to have the photos indicate otherwise, mostly due to anal retentiveness.

AC+ does cover extreme abrasion.
