I tried calling on Monday to purchase Applecare+, but was told since I'm in Florida they can't sell it to me over the phone and that I should go to the Apple Store.

Went to the Apple Store yesterday and bough it (they just asked for my phone's serial #). Checked this morning and it doesn't show up as active yet, shows support ending on Jan 12th 2012 & repairs ending Oct 13 2012.

I'll wait a few days and hopefully it gets updated.

Just an update to my situation; my applecare + was added to my phone this am. I guess things are just a little slow right now. I did not have to call applecare anymore to get it done.:)

I ordered applecare+ with the phone, how do you check to see that it was done correctly and tied to your phone's serial?

I purchased AppleCare+ on the phone with Sprint CSR while going through some technical help with getting our four 4S phones activated. I had pre-ordered the phones without Applecare+. You can check to see if your AppleCare+ is activated on Apple's web site (if you have registered your phone with Apple) under Support. You can simply enter your phone's SN and it will give you the low down on your warrenty coverage including Apple Care products. Mine has not shown up yet, but it it listed on my Sprint account information page. By the way, you can do the same for any Apple hardware you may have registered with Apple, whether you have Apple Care or not.

Decided to finally Add apple care + for two phones , took 25 mins... lil billing address issues , but everything went smooth. Nice customer service by apple by the way.

I apologize if I missed the answer to this question somewhere in the threads on AppleCare+

I have Verizon and was not given the option to add AppleCare+ at any point in the ordering process. I just upgraded the phones and kept my same plans for phone and data. I have the extended warranty through Verizon that is a monthly charge of $2 or something like that per phone. Should I also purchase AppleCare+?

I read that I can purchase it through the Apple Store. Do I need to take the unopened/unactivated phones to the store or can I purchase it after activation?

Thanks! (I am so excited for the iPhones to get here! :) )

Called around 5pm yesterday to add two phones to AppleCare + , received 2 two emails at 1am , showing certificate for each phones with serial number and expire dates.

Is there a way to add AppleCare+ to a phone I don't have yet? I placed the order in-store through AT&T and was never given the option to order AppleCare. I ordered on the 12th, so I fear I will not get my phone for another few months. I heard Apple is giving preorder customers until the 14th of November to add it, but I won't have the phone by then.
