As soon as I unwrapped my iPad, I placed into the Apple iPad Case. I love the looks and that it adds virtually no added weight or size to the device.

I use a screen cleaning cloth to clean the iPad screen and the case. Occasionally, I use a damp rag on the screen and the case.

The case has held up great, and although it does pick up dust and lint, they blow off/wipe off easily. No other case is as functional as the Apple iPad Case, in my opinion.

I typically use it landscape, but occasionally use it in portrait as well. It feels great in my hands. I love the viewing angles this case offers. I am taking my first flight with it in a few hours, and expect it to be useful when using my iPad on my lap or tray table.

I checked out an Apple case finally at the store yesterday and while it was a nice case, it completely took away the "wow" factor of the iPad. I love the naked look of the iPad, looks so sleek and high tech, and with the case on it, it was just meh.

That's exactly why I never bought a case for my iPhone. For this, I may have to take function over look. Typing without a stand is really uncomfortable.

For the folks with the official Apple case, at the two week mark:

- are you still happy with the Apple case?
- would you buy it again, or could you live without it?

I can't find anything better for the same reasons I like the apple case. Nothing is as thin with as little interference to the screen area and accessibility and also has a cover and easy access to all ports while providing useful stand capabilities for both video watching and desktop typing/viewing. It is very low profile, it shows no signs of falling apart, and since it is so thin it has not impeded my choices for carrying cases/bags.

Because it works so reliably in its stand mode, I have not desired a dock, this is outright savings because normally I buy the docks.

I will always keep an eye out for other choices, some might be better. Sometimes I like using the iPad without a case but quickly get tired of how easily it slips from my hands. Ultimately I want the apple case back on and won't settle for any case that lacks any of the main utilities I am receiving from this case. To sum up: very thin, low profile, extra grip, useful typing stand, useful viewing stand, protective cover (so it can sit up against my laptop in a bag and not scratch either item) and does not disrupt the access to the screen area more than absolutely necessary (i.e. No greatly raised edges, nothing near the touch sensitive area, nothing obstructing the light sensor)

So even though it has flaws (sharp edges!) I am quite happy with it, especially given the price and effectiveness at its advertised utility.

Every Best Buy in Chicago that I've been to is out as well as all the Apple stores.

I would love to just get my hands on the case. Seems it's more rare than the iPad.

Same thing here, I can't find the Apple Case anywhere. I gave up and just ordered a Belkin Grip Vue, because it was in stock and I'd like something for the time being to keep the iPad protected but the Apple Case looks like exactly what I need.

I have to think the 3G units are coming out the last week of April or Maybe even May 1, as these aren't scheduled to ship until the following Monday. Have to think Apple is holding these back for the next huge wave of deliveries.

May be sooner. Apple just changed my shipping method from standard to priority yesterday.

So I went ahead and ordered the Apple iPad Case from online, my iPad will be here in around 2 weeks or so, so I figure might as well order it and go at most a week without a case (maybe 2) instead of searching and then the iPad get here and have to order it anyway and go a month without it.

Edit: Order Acknowledgment shows that it will arrive May 12. :(

The Apple case is doing pretty good after 2 weeks. the material feels good in the hands, its very thin & light and doesn't look like something from Franklin Quest. It's the best option I have used so far.. but I do wish there were more cases in the store. A case is something I can rarely order sight unseen.

Every Apple Store (3) and Best Buy (at least 6) in the Orlando area are out of the Apple cases. I agree with earlier posts in that Apple should have sent inventory to the stores rather than shipping cases to 3G buyers early. They should have waited and shipped those cases with the 3G models.

My pad hasn't left the case since I got it two weeks ago. The prop for portrait mode great, and is a must have feature for me. I agree that the case takes away from the beauty of the pad a bit, and it also seems to get really scuffy/dusty. I teach and use the blackboard in class a lot, so chalk dust gets stuck to it pretty easily. I will keep my eyes open for new cases over the coming year, because I think there is a lot of room for innovation here, but the Apple case is still the best solution for me right now.

I had to stop at Orlando's Millenia Mall after work today to meet someone and pick up something in another store. While there I decided to drop in the Apple Store and see if any Apple Cases for the iPad came in. I wasn't expecting there to be any since I'd been periodically checking this and another Orlando Apple store since getting my iPad this past Thursday (4/15) at this same store. Well to my surprise there were 2 prongs full of them on the accessory wall and someone was bringing more out of the backroom since the sales were brisk. In the 15 or so minutes I was ther at 8 were sold, mine being 9. I wasn't expecting to see one since the website said 2-3 weeks this morning, and there were none at the Altamonte store on Sunday.

When did you order? I ordered last night but somehow the order was cancelled. I ordered today and it will be here by 5/7. I'm hoping someone comes through quicker but for now I'll have to wait.

returned apple case

I just returned my Apple case . . . maybe you're in luck:rolleyes:

I just got mine yesterday and I'm not so sure I'll keep it.

I mean, it's nice, but it's not the best thing in the world. There's just something about it that makes me not really enjoy it. Might be the way things line up - I guess I really am that anal.

But the ability to angle the iPad is necessary. I'm looking at the Marware case now.

Couldn't be happier. Only small complaint is how dirty it gets, but its easy to wipe it off, just annoying.

I've grown to love the apple case, after looking through many replacements, when you actually get them in hand and compare side by side the apple case blows them away. I hate to admit it as i've wasted alot of money trying other cases but the Apple case is just the most stylish, functional and sleek case available for the ipad. Save yourself some money and just buy the apple case, really it's that good compared to whats on the market.

i bought it and returned it with my ipad. was planning on getting a slate. but i just got sick of waiting, so i am getting the 3g ipad next week, comes on pay day too. i thought about getting the belkin case with the 3 angles, but i need something to stay sturdy while i take notes in class. the ipad case is gonna be perfect for this. cant wait to get it back to study for my finals. get the case, you will be happy with it. it is sturdy, and is a great, light case. after you take the ipad out about 10 times, it become much easier to pull out.

Is it any easier to take out? I use my iPad in school and have a keyboard dock. Will it be a pain to take out and put back it all the time?

I love the apple case. I knew I would when i saw it announced and was surprised that so many people on here hated it. I got mine yesterday and have no Problems with it at all. Holds the iPad nice and snug. Is super thin so it doesn't make the iPad bulky. And the. Typing position is awesome. I guess my only half complaint is it does get. Dirty very easily. But oh well can't win em all!
