As much as I love my 6 plus, after 3 years of the same design I’m ready for a new style. And since my phone is 3 years old, broken screen and a bit slow on iOS 11 I’m in need of a new iPhone. So I guess the X it is.
I had the 6 Plus, 6s Plus, and most recently the 7 Plus, I liked them alot, but after three years of using the same old design, I needed a change. So right now I'm on the Note 8, so far i'm liking it, except I like flat screens and not into curved displays as it makes it hard to hold and hard to put on a good screen protector. Other than that, its a great phone.

With the direction this company is taking, this hype this company experience every time they released a new iphone will eventually die out.
I don't think there will be that many queuing for the over-priced, underwhelming iphone x tbh.
My thoughts.

many odds against iphone 8:
  1. More expensive iphone
  2. no big promotion from carriers (like $650 from last year for iphone 7)
  3. same old design from last 3 years
Apple is so sure that they can milk more out of original iphone 6 design.

sigh*
I guess it has to do with age…
Mental more so than physical.

Ye miserable sod!

I know the United World of America forgets us lowly Europeans from time to time, but carriers on this side of the pond are subsidising the iPhone 8 quite a lot. Mine is ready for pick-up for just €650. (Based on Apple pricing and exchange rates, it's bang on your offer).

Totally agree on being sick of the plus looking phones even though I love them. But isn’t switching a pain ?

Not even thinking of leaving the Apple eco system, actually looking forward to Face ID and a new design.

This is why multiple companies make multiple phones :)

“Most Apple customers that go to product launches are likely waiting for the iPhone X, coming November 3rd.”

Fixed that for you.

I hope this year is the only year with more than one major iPhone launch, it's nice when it's a bigger deal more so than this watered down release.

Yeah, lets celebrate a 4 year old phone design. This is just sad. And the iPhone X isn't going to sell as well as the tech journalist think it is either. $1000 bucks for a phone with no touch-id and that ugly devil horns. 2017 isn't going to be a good year for Apple...
Pretty sure there are people like you around every year - but you're always left chewing on your words afterwards...

I want my iPhone X. The wait is unbearable!!
???????????????????????????????
Wall Street is betting that these products will FAIL and the Stock has been sinking fast since the introduction..same people who some years ago, bet Apple would go under saying it is a "windows world"

The main product launches in November.

Apple is not fooling anyone giving the 7S a new iPhone number "8" . This reaction from the public is about right, they want the shiny x

Apple doesn’t do the S thing anymore though and I’m sure part of it is for marketing purposes. I mean if they still only changed the number when there was an all new external design like they used to right now the iPhone 8 would be the iPhone 6SSS. I’m thinking they skipped the number 9 because next year there will be one more vintage 6 phone. I mean they wouldn't want to call it an iPhone 6SSSS.

The stores will be pretty slow today compared to previous launches, but expect Apple to announce huge lines and the biggest iPhone launch ever!

Oh yes. Definitely.
I find it really odd how buying something is seen as an achievement worthy of celebration.

It's called "love bombing". That's how they do it to make people feel included. It's a classic cult technique.

In contrast, they don't do that in Starbucks Coffee when they have new drinks being introduced. I've been in long lines before at comic conventions, book signings, and such, never having to deal with the stupidity of clap happy workers. People think it's part of the Apple " experience " but in reality, they're being 'love bombed' without knowing it.
