I personally don't approve these parades either. Playing victim (aka celebrating 'rights') will never give these people respect points. I'm with Dave Rubin on this one. He is also gay and i respect him a lot.

What makes you think they're trying to score respect points from you? Maybe they're just celebrating not being treated like shunned outcasts anymore (by some people, anyway).

Some just celebrate, some actually want respect.

My sister, who is a left-wing liberal, is now at her wits’ end because of what has happened to her kids. They live in one of the most LGBTQ friendly cities on the West Coast. She allowed her kids to immerse themselves in the LGBTQ environment, and now they are completely on the LGBTQ train. All their friends are LGBTQ, and she now wishes with anguish that she had left her community a decade ago and moved to a more traditional setting. This is totally uncharacteristic of her, as she always advocated for the most left-wing and liberal views and loved the environment where she lived. The problem is that she was raised in an environment devoid of LGBTQ propaganda, so she had no idea what effect the LGBTQ propaganda could have on young minds.
I laugh at people like your sister. She was all for other people being in a screwed up lifestyle, but when her children are indoctrinated, she has regrets.

We want legal respect. (To marry, to patronize a business, to be protected against discrimination.)

Respect from back-asswards bigots isn't on the top of our list. Would it be nice if people could be decent human beings without being forced to by law? Absolutely. We're not there yet, however.

See my comment above, people are tolerant, accept others as they are, but when the media and law starts forcing them to accept that other parties way of living and beliefs, then that’s why people feel the need to say what they say.

Also your a hypocrite, firstly you give a lecture on freedom of speech, then advocate the restraining of Freedom Of Speech, all in one comment!

what are you on about? There's a church bell that bangs on my ears every damn day, and goes crazy every weekend, yet somehow i'm not turning christian or developing some irrational hate towards their lifestyle.
I also don't feel the need to say any antichristian paroles every christian holiday. Because I don't care if people are christian and need to speak that out. Let them.

I just wont let them speak out against others.

That is God’s world family is a union between a man and a woman that are loyal to each other. I want my children to see this kind of world. Btw, rainbow is a Biblical sign of covenant between God and humanity. No wonder it is taken by Pride movement. Anyways, it doesn’t matter what we all think. My opinion will not change much. But God’s opinion changes everything for eternity. He said that family is a union of a man and a woman and I stand by what He said.

That's fine, and you feel free to handle your relationship with Him how you see fit. However, MY relationship with any deity, as well as everyone else's, is none of your concern. If someone isn't in your flock, that's between them and God, and last I checked you weren't ordained as His messenger on Earth. Now, if you equate yourself to Jesus and feel entitled to speak on God's behalf then that's something else you will have to explain when you are done on this planet.

Also, there are plenty of people in this world (most of it, actually) who don't think your beliefs are the right ones. If you want your kids to have successful lives, perhaps stop trying to force everyone into your church and explain to them that the people they will encounter don't need you OR them to preach. In short, mind YOUR business, and not everyone else's, and don't lecture anyone about relationship loyalty with a 50% divorce rate floating around faux Christian households.

It has. It send wrong message to my children.

actually, it sends the right message to your children.
you dont OWN your children. they are not your extension. And you're not the master of their beliefs or life.
They're gonna live at least 30 years after you die and have their own lives. Mind your own life, let others mind theirs.

Your bigotry sends wrong message to my children. what now? holy war? civil war? give me a break.

I don't get the criticism of Tim in this post. Here in Chicago, it seems that every major company has LGBT groups and many of them marched under their company's banner in our Pride parade. I would even guess that most Fortune 500 companies do this, although I haven't seen a tally. Whether or not that's the case, though, this sort of thing is extremely common among large, public companies. I'm sure Apple's employees -- gay or straight -- appreciate the company's stance on this, so I don't see why it should bother anyone else. If the Pride parade isn't your thing, skip it. But please at least be glad for those who no longer have to hide their sexual orientation from the world.

What does it mean own? I am responsible for them infront of God and should lead them to Godly life.

So, not going to answer my question then? This is hardly surprising; I usually find that Christians that talk the loudest know the least about their own faith.

To make it easy for you I've given you a link to it below:

Seriously? Rainbow still? The rainbow has been appearing in the sky long before any human dreamed up god. If you want a physics lesson I can show you. Of course, if you believe it is a sign from god you believe in an interventionist god so when he goes around causing her hurricanes then signing the aftermath with a rainbow, those god fearing Christians should just smile and accept it as a sign?

People have also been getting married all over the world long before Christianity was a thing. I’m fact, marriage between Christians was a civil ceremony until the 4th century AD before the church decided they should police it.

You're supposed to lead them to a life where they can become a functioning member of society really, nothing else. If you can teach them to care about other not only themselves then you win twice.
Unfortunately, most people apparently teach their children to care about themselves and god. And here we are.

Perhaps those bells are making you angry waking up early every day? Because your post seems full of it.

please don't put words in my mouth, i never stated that.
If i can sleep over my phone's alarm i can sleep over bells (and i do). I ignore things I don't like, i dont hate them, you know, like you're supposed to if you wish to live in a society where people with different interests and beliefs live together...

Now those on the extreme left, have two reasons to hate you.
nah, hate is really reserved for people like you to feel.
"extreme" left doesnt hate bigots, they want bigots to mind their own business and not try to intervene in lives of others. Can you see the difference? Can you apply it to your own case?

Fun factoid; the very first marriages carried out by the pilgrims was also civil affairs. Really still not getting this '"America is a Christian Country" nonsense - it's almost like the Native Americans where never here to begin with!

I usually find that Christians that talk the loudest know the least about their own faith.
Many so called Christians are the least educated what Christianity is about for real. They think the Bible is God’s words. It’s not, it’s an interpretation, that changes as the human mind evolves. It is rewritten continuously.

I happened to study Religion at University in my youth. Fortunately with a extremely good Professor, thank God.
Because i studied with a lot of people that had the aspiration to become Priests.
It was challenging for us who just studied out of interest, with a broader perspective.
The priest students must been the most narrowminded people I’ve ever come across. It was challenging to have discussions with them, but as the studies progressed they did actually change.

Even though the Christian Church in this country probably struggle with many same issues that other countries do, they are probably more open-minded as a whole then many places. Churches in general are wide open for gays as far as I know.
We even have a most prominent and awesome bishop that is a Lesbian, don’t think they are that many over the world. But the numbers of gay-people in such places grow, so people’s minds are challenged and eventually have to start to question themselves. Though there’s still some sad dinosaurs that of course show up with their closed minds in these kinds of threads.

I am not going to try and win any argument. I will not even argue. You can do what you please, for sure. I believe in the Bible. God calls homosexuality a sin and sin it is. There are many gay people being preachers today...but they are self made preachers and have nothing to do with true Christianity. Actually, LGBTQXYRDF is not the minority today, true christianity is.

Welp, I studied enough history to have a healthy opinion about what true christianity is. :D

Again, you have failed to answer my question; you say the Bible say's homosexuality is a sin yet you are apparently ignorant as to why you think it states that.

Here's a shocker for you - the KJV bible may say this in Pauls writings, but other translations do NOT. Oh noes! How can this be?

Luther's translation for example doesn't mention homosexuality in Corinthains, for example. Nope, he states "Kinder sexuell missbrauchen" (to abuse children, sexually), the two French transaltions from 1774 have either "ceux qui commettent des péchés contre nature" (those who commit sins against natuire) which is similar to the Danish version) or "les abominables" and the 1602 Irish translation by William O'Domhnuill, uses "dáoine míonadúrtha" (unnatural people).

None of these have Paul writing about Homosexuality. Odd, huh?

How can this be? God's word isn't the same in different languages? Wait, please tell me you knew that the bible wasn't written in English?

You are a typical bible basher - you know oh so very very little about the book your profess to follow, yet you push it mercilessly.

That is sadly oh so common today.

I gave you several chances to answer thew question - you failed to answer it. This should surprise no-one here.

Again it is shown the most vocal and vehement of Christians are the ones who know least about their most holy of their books.

This lesson in Bible studies was brought to you by the letter T and the number 2. You're welcome...

It’s not true Christianity you argue for. It’s your interpretation that justifies your judgements, hatred and close mindedness.
Please respect people as God’s creation just as yourself and your family. God certainly do.
Those priest are ordained equally with their hetrosexually sisters and brothers. You don’t know what you are talking about.
God have never called homosexuality a sin, people have. Big difference.
