Tim Cook is CEO of a company that is on their way to becoming a trillion dollar company. I don't think he needs to give Trump the time of day, and Trump certainly doesn't deserve it. Sometimes what you don't do (like not going to the dinner at Trump's White House) is just as important as what you do. This is a missed opportunity to distance Apple from a swindler who is helping to bankrupt the country by enriching himself and his buddies through insane tax breaks, and bankrupting the morals of the country by his racist policies.

You and the little snowflake minions are falling so far left you’re losing most of your pathetic party. So far left, like almost Hitler left.

A man who has been accused of raping women, who calls poor African countries "**** hole" countries, who refers to Mexican immigrants as rapists, who openly praises the fringe, far right nationalist, who is suspected by many to have colluded with Russia, who has isolationist policy toward our key trading partners, who mocks the disabled, who sleeps with porn stars, who defrauds students, who bankrupts companies, who cheats workers, who gets sued over three thousand times... does not have "opposing view." He has fundamentally flawed ideology that has to be resisted, if you believe in maintaining our democracy and value basic human dignity. That's how I feel about it. If these were different circumstances, I would have agreed with every word of what you said and generally feel the same way.

There is time for politics and for an open, engaged discourse. And there is time to simply resist. A policy of appeasement and cooperation didn't work very well against Hitler, Stalin, Putin, or any other self-centered, autocratic individual. Trump appeals to the same basic element.

Also, being defiant does not mean one has to be ignorant, either.
[doublepost=1524677864][/doublepost]

No one stopped counting votes. That's a blatant lie. We know exactly how many votes were cast for him and they were fewer than those cast for Clinton.

Keep living the fantasy though...

He’s may be all those things but he is still our President and ignoring your problems doesn’t make them go away. I suppose you could turn the tables and say Hitler, Stalin, etc silenced anyone who opposed them. Ignoring people I believe is just as bad. Both sides will always think they’re righteous even if they’re pure evil and you can always come up with an endless list of why not to like something. I think Trump is a dirt bag but I think it’s a bit disengenous to put him on the level of dictators, though I wouldn’t content he may be the biggest embarrassment in our history of presidents. Anyways, I believe through civil discourse at least there is a chance of influencing the decision making.

I think if you want to “boycott” Trump so to speak there are more appropriate opportunities to doing so (ie not attending his inauguration, protestong at his rallies
or in Washington, etc). But I think every opportunity for discussion is worth seizing.

For example, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi both somehow convinced Trump to accept the debt deal they proposed, much to the Republicans’ outrage. I think that was a bit of a surprise for everyone.

Refusing to negotiate or discuss is the worst possible thing for this country. The last thing we need is even more hyper-partisanship and a refusal for people to cross party lines. America is already divided enough as it is. Both sides of the isle will refute every plan or accomplishment of the opposing party, even if its good for the country, or they find the need to disqualify the success of the opposition or minimize the failures of the side they support. It’s ridiculous. As someone who cares about this country more than party lines, I simply don’t believe silent virtue signalling solves anything.

I'm kind of surprised he chose to attend to be honest. But hey a free meals a free meal.

Perhaps that's why..

He wouldn't have gone if he had to pay for it. This is the White House after all... Trump can surly offer a 'friend" a meal for old time sakes

Tim Cook knows how easily manipulated Trump is and is looking for a Deal. Like all other deals it'll be great and give Apple a massive break while having zero stipulations around what Apple needs to do in return. We've seen this dance before. Tim is a supply chain master for a reason and this WILL be bad for the US, short changing the money owed by Apple.

Hahahahahahhahahaha, yeah the people keeping more in their paycheck are the rich, the economy wasn’t changed by him and is still bad, and isis is still prevelant.

I'll be up front. I make $56K a year currently, with my personal tax exemptions set at 0 for federal and 0 for state (so, I pay maximum taxes per week). From the tax cuts, I'm taking home $30 more per week now, in my net pay. That's $1,560 over the course of a year, and is not "crumbs" despite what some politicians on the left say. That money is going towards refurnishing my home office, which I've been wanting to do forever.

It's simply not true that only the rich benefit. I'm not "rich" by any means, although I will admit that where I live, you can live comfortably with an individual gross income above $50K.

You need to learn the difference between the deficit and the national debt.
Something like this?
Federal Deficit
Definition
The amount by which a government's expenditures exceed its tax revenues. The difference is made up for by borrowing from the public through the issuance of debt. also called Federal Debt.

National Debt

The terms national deficit and national surplus usually refer to the federal government budget balance from year to year, not the cumulative amount of debt. A deficit year increases the debt as more money is spent than is received by the government; a surplus year decreases the debt as more money is received than spent.

You referred to the two concepts interchangeably in your prior post, which is wrong. I don't know where you got those definitions, but they are misleading. Debt is cumulative. The deficit is an annual measure.

All of these statements are made without any credible proof.

This seems like 'fake news' to me.

Put your phone down. Get out of bed. Clear your head, and then do some basic internet searches. We could spoon feed it to you, but it's time for an intervention.

There are no more laws discriminating against people of color. There are prevalent pathologies in the communities of people of color resulting in less desirable outcomes, most prevalent of all being a lack of a father in the home.

So what you are saying is that after 100 years of access denied to education, jobs and housing that 40 years later it should all be good?

The pathologies exist because the institutionalized racism in this country is not gone and people don't want to have an honest discussion about the higher rates of incarceration of people of color. A white kid caught with drugs gets a ride home and a black kid with the same drugs goes into the system.

White privilege is alive and well but people claim it doesn't exist.
It edited legally as Apartheid for 100 years in this country. It has continued through systematic abuses by banks with redlining. It has continued to exist in our justice system where everyone is not treated equally from arrest to trial to sentencing.

You neglect the fact that for 100 years families had tho opportunities to educate and build generational wealth.
The fact that for a large segment of the population that this is the first opportunity to attend college.

No everything is not now equal and to say that makes your argument ignorant at best (because you just don't know) or specious (because you hide behind a fallacy that everything is now okay because the law changed).

Why would a powerful, intelligent, openly gay man who runs one of the most successful companies in the world want to meet one-on-one with an idiot who bankrupted four times and failed nearly every business venture he started and who hates gays and praise nazis?

I honestly don't understand why people give his moron any type of audience.

A few of my investments failed. Most have not. I'm still winning. So what if Trump has bankruptcies? He has many more successes. He held up a rainbow flag and said he was so happy to hear cheering at the RNC for his support of LGBTQ people. Time to leave your fake news echo chamber and MAGA.

He said "some of the people on both sides are fine people". I agree that there were likely people marching for the right who weren't white supremacists. That isn't the narrative that was jammed down our throats though so I see why you would feel that way.

Um...so a white supremacists staged protest had some people who weren't white supremacist.

How do you know that?

Either way, you have to admit that the ratio was like:
99% white supremacist
1% people you likes old statues

No amount of spin can change that.
[doublepost=1524777167][/doublepost]
Remember this? I do...

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/apr/14/barackobama.uselections2008

Referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, the presidential hopeful said: "They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Is this your job. Support the right no matter what?

How does this address trump referring to white supremacist as 'fine people'?

Even if there were a few non-racists there, as soon as they saw who they were associating with, they had a choice to either leave immediately or become complicit. No one who stuck around was innocent.

I’m a free thinker. That seems like a foreign concept to you.

It says more about you than Trump.

I actually laughed when I read this... Trump is a massive loser. The list of failures is long...

Trump Airline
Trump Vodka
Trump Mortage
Trump Board Games
Trump Casino
Trump Steak
Trump Wine
Trump Magazine
Trump Search Engine
Trump University
Presidency

A few “investments?” Please, these are massive failures. He literally destroys everything he touches.

He inherited between $40 and $200 million from his father. He would have been richer today had he simply invested the money instead of attempting his “stable genius” at various business misadventures. He is a world-class moron with a third grader’s vocabulary. He attracts much the same level of intellect, as it has been demonstrated by the people who support him. Even his own professor from college described him as “the dumbest goddamn student he ever had.”

Some winner... :D:D:D

And 65,844,954 people voted for Hillary. Get over it.

Which is irrelevant.

You know what I love about Trump supporters? You guys come up with the wildest conspiracy theories and find the most ridiculous “evidence” of things happening on the internet, like the Clinton’s running a sex trade operations out of a DC pizza joint.

Yet, you fail at the very basic fact checking when the orange baboom’s ******** express rolls through town five times a day. He literally lies every 15 minutes and his inheritance is just another lie...

It’s generally accepted that he inherited between $40-200 million. All you need to do is google it and read. Either you are poorly informed or intentionally make up a lie to defend the idiot in the White House. Either way you’re wrong.

Liberals, like Hitler, love big govt, power over the people. Thats why they support legalizing drugs dumbing down the people, keeping minorities in poverty, high taxes, abortion, and taking our right to bear arms. Sound familiar? Learn your history ;)

Your mind cant handle the evil the Clintons are involved in among others like their beloved Harvey Weinstein, Anthony Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin, who's mother wrote a book about female mutilation Sharia Law and is a spokes person for the muslim brotherhood. Thats not even the beginning. Nice try but maybe read the facts and come back to reality.

Really, the only one? MSNBC has gotten to the point where all their "comedy" shows are straight up people arguing against Trump, and their articles are as fake and manipulative as Fox's, only better crafted (I think Fox hires 5th graders to write). Luckily, you can simply read both sources and get a good picture and coverage of facts, barring anything that American journalism as a whole avoids, e.g. negative things about Israel and positive things about Assad.

I'm also not going to support Fox's rhetoric about college education, which is far more severe than Trump's, but it's true that certain parts are very one-sided. Sociology and similar majors are 100% being force-fed political opinions; I've experienced it firsthand. But in general it's not so bad.

Liberals are divorced from reality too. Btw, I am not a Trump supporter. Don’t like the guy. He is t even a Republican. He is a nationalist / opportunist. However, he is a bit better than the crap the Democratic Party puts out.

Continue to ignore the problem and it will never go away. Never. But feel free to just scream “racist” and engage false equivocation if that helps you keep your head in the sand and sleep better at night.

Looks like you're the one ignoring it. Im sure a lack of a father is why the two men got arrested at starbucks. Has to be!

Not irrelevant when the person I was responding to was complaining about how many people talk about how/why they dislike Trump. It's because more people hate trump in this country than love him. Have another statement to make that I can shoot down like this one?
