Tim who cares how many headphones do you sell ?

where are the new macs ? what happened to the airport base station ?

where are the updated and corrected macbook pros ?

these are the questions the press should keep asking you every day

why don't these corrupted bloggers and mainstream media ask him these questions ?

Now, I love these headphones...but the rest I agree with. Rene Ritchie et al will never ask those questions. And who knows the answers?

Apple has made a bunch of annoying and probably bad moves recently: boring iPhone 7, too pricey and crappy (battery wise) Macbook Pros, no updates in a bunch of product lines, but the Airpods are an awesome product. They're competitive on price with other true wireless earbuds and add true advantages with that w1 chip. For my use case (90% podcasts, generally with only one bud), they're fantastic. Love mine.

All the reviews are mostly positive, except a few negatives that are not being reported that much. One being that the only way to adjust the volume on the AirPods during a phone call is by physically touching the phone and change the volume.

It cannot be done by the AirPods or the AW if you have one. The AW can change the volume, just not during a phone call. So, if you have the iPhone in your backpack or purse, you cannot easily adjust the volume like it is advertised on their website.

Yeah, that could be a pain for some. Lucky me, I never ever adjust the volume on a phone call and never found a reason to. So I will be perfectly fine with that. I do adjust the volume while listening to the music, which I normally do using AW.

Cook is a complete PR whore. He'd never say anything even remotely negative. I hate him and all of the product 'he' introduced. Apple is doomed (TM)

What an ostentatious statement without evidence supporting your claim. It appears your stated hate for Cook has clouded your actual judgement based on your illegitimate findings, which isn't showing much.

And please elaborate on what products "Cook" introduced that was solely based on him.

Well this is a lie.

Ive got a nexus 5 phone with marshmallow and I have yet to experience some kind of obstacle. All the apps I want I have installed.

I wonder if the people on MR have ever used Android.

The guy you quoted is talking in general and you know it but you had to bring your example (and probably the other "6 persons" in the planed) who have an older phone with up to date Android OS. Android is terrible when it comes to updates and that's not Googles fault but rather networks fault. I think majority of customers when they buy a new Android phone will never ever manage to get a new OS on their phone. That is sad! And yes, lot of iPhone users have used or use Android phones, they just don't go around trolling on Android authority (or whatever their sites are called)

I wish I could say the same for this site, which is full of trolls.

I don't honestly know what they could add to a phone at this point aside from long distance wireless charging that would make it non boring. What should they add?

The macbooks are fine laptops but hugely overpriced and the quality control issues are concerning. But within a few months all those issues will probably be fixed and next year we will probably get a price drop. So I don't really care.

iMac is getting updated in a couple months so meh...

My airpods are probably my favorite thing apple has done in years aside from iPad Pro. My god these things work well. I was a big time hater over these past couple months of Apple but now that I've calmed down and gotten perspective, I don't actually think they're doing that badly. A year from now we will look back on a sorta crappy year and laugh while enjoying all our sexy apple products

MR members emptying their "trash-cans" in 3....2.....1
Guess I am late for the ...in before complainers about complainers shows up eh?
Borrowed a coworkers for an afternoon the other day - these things are awesome. Best Apple product in a long time.
Now I don't want to be negative, but if the best product the Nr.1 Tech company can come up with its billions is a pair of bluetooth set.... it says a lot about the company itself.....:S
There are countless good reviews for this product.
Reviews nowadays are plain silly, I get free product ONLY if I review them 3+ stars on Amazon..... and that is for Amazon stuff, how do you think big company handle pre release stuff? Do you really think they let people "test and report" on site and youtube without asking for "protection?"
How many people do you really think are 100% sincere??

Remember when he was going to "double down on secrecy on products"?

This man's a joke. He says anything to make shareholders happy.
Technically that's his job...
[doublepost=1482995121][/doublepost]Out of curiosity, what makes these have a huge wow factor? I haven't read much about them.

For the majority of Android users even getting a security update is a rarity.
You chose your android device well. Most users don't have your experience etc in order to make that sort of informed decision.
You can even buy new Android phones that still run Gingerbread on some online stores.
Count yourself lucky.

Note: I should perhaps point out that I am extremely gullible and tend to believe everything Apple tells me. Thanks

Look. Quite possibly he is not telling the truth. Meaning Airpods are not huge success as he says, meaning sales are terrible.Whatever you choose to believe. From a customers point of view, frankly I don't give a flying F! I bought the Airpods and love the product. That's what matters. On this case, well done Tim and well done Apple. I don't care how many they sold, who did they sell it to, how many males, how many females, how many kids...etc. None of that sh.t matters to me.

I was like that ....then I tried one.... and switched! Thank you iPhone 7 for making me switch :D, then wen t Apple TV, then Apple Watch......the I realized how much Apple stuff is closed, and apart from OS X don't see any more benefit in their product....that is why the MacBook Air stayed... OS X is my last link with the company I once loved ....

It is good to try and look around, you might see that the world it not how Apple makes it seems (at least not anymore).

No it is not all doom, but once you get out of the reality distortion field things don't looks as cool as they were before :p.

My phone now is as good as the 6s and costed me 1/5th... will it not get Nougat? Well I will get a new one next year, and still save money... before it was iPhone or nothing, things change!

I tried Android too and still stuck with the fruit. I need my device working or to have support on a moments notice. My roommate cant even use his Samsung phone normally at this point. However, he can't take it back or get it fixed at all. He has no support or options other than to try to hold out until the next major release.

Android does not = Samsung... wouldn't touch a Samsung even with protective gloves...... I have no issue running my phone...

Anyone paying 600+ dollars on an Android phone is a fool!

My phone have issue? ..I can replace it 5 times before I spend what 1 iPhone cost me if needed.

The Pixel is 600+ dollars. I guess anyone buying Google's own phone with it's own OS is a fool.

Quite frankly YES! There's really very little a Pixel can offer (other than sw update....but as said you can change phone each year and still run the last os and spend less), compared to many devices costing a lot less!

At least not worth 400$ in difference :p but to each his own.

BUT that's another story..let's get beck on topic.

But the question remains, do these Airpods work with an Android phone? Or a Windows laptop? These do look like okay wireless earbuds, and if they were cheaper I would consider getting them to toss in my bag to use with my laptop for at college, rather than have to take my somewhat cumbersome over ear headphones.

If Airpods don't work at least as well on non apple devices, then apple is missing a decent number of potential buyers.
