How about an optimistic opinion in this thread:

Holiday sales were likely strong for Apple, all new MacBook, Apple Watch, iPhone and Airpods. This really didn't shock me. Apple makes a great product, even if constraint is apparent.

The Airpods will be a huge success for those willing to give it a chance. It's a great starting point and easily has the capabilities to expand to something beyond more.

Well done Tim.
And well done to Apple's Ministry Of Information for furnishing us with more glorious news that yet again another innovative and ground breaking product has achieved uproarious success.
Rejoice at our Great Leader's vision!

(Note: I should perhaps point out that I am extremely gullible and tend to believe everything Apple tells me. Thanks)

Their product launches are a colossal fail. I don't know how anyone could argue otherwise rationally
Just because you don't like the product launches, doesn't mean other people are irrational. Stop being closed minded.

You don't need to listen to the CEO or worship Apple to know that people like this product.

Has he ever said or implied anything other than "every product is amazing and the best ever and the most successful"?

He's just complete PR & hyperbole quite frankly.
Totally useless information.

Which makes me wonder, why do they even bother asking.

"What's coming next?"
"How was the launch of X product?"

Why not be more creative with the journalism. Ask something out of the ordinary.

What is there to like? 7Plus completely unavailable for months same with 6+ and 6s+ even tho wasn't me I'm savvy, absurd. I got matte black but jet black might as well not have existed.

Did they ever think people want phablets ?

Same with pro tablet without pencil to be found.

Same with airpods.

Same with retina iMacs, delays

They've failed at three product launches related to their blood flow, iPhones.

12" MacBook had to get at Best Buy BEFORE Apple Stores carried them.

I'm sure there's more fail but that's just top of mind

It is a fail you are sensitive to corporate nonsense.

The thread is back open after a major clean up.

If you see a post you think may be breaking the rules, there is only one correct course of action.
To report a post, click the Report Post icon (

) to the left of the offending post. You will be given a form to describe the problem.

In this thread only a single member had the common sense to report the problem post. Dozens of other members quoted the post and it's responses, sending the discussion completely off-topic so that it became more focused on forum feedback. We have the Site and Forum Feedback forum for that type of discussion.

Please keep it on-topic and be aware that both praise and criticism of Apple and it's products is allowed on the MacRumors forum but trolling is most definitely not.
  1. Trolling. Do not post in order to anger other members or intentionally cause negative reactions. For a given post, this can be a subjective call, but a pattern of such posting or an especially egregious case will get you banned.

Thank you.

This older, but relevant, comparison done in the word choice in presentations between Jobs and Cook is enlightening: https://www.techinasia.com/apple-language

Changes since Jobs:
1. Apple’s language is getting less functional and more emotional.
2. Apple is increasingly emphasizing the word new.
3. Subconsciously reminding us of the glory days?

Interesting article. Worth a read. Showing us why some of us long time Apple people are getting annoyed increasingly.

You just wait until Apple launches it’s Retro series of products ;-)

I bought them simply because I haven't bought anything Apple for a long time, because the iPhone 7 wasn't enough of an upgrade over the 6s and the MBP's loss of useable ports and small battery. Unfortunately the air pods fall out of my ears and I frequently notice BT audio codec compression artifacts and double tap for Siri working intermittently well most of the time not at all. Was fun to play with them but will be returned. Maybe next gen will use a higher quality codec than plain old SBC.

My thoughts exactly. There's really no point in interviewing him and expecting anything different. I guess the media doesn't get it.

The problem is if they interview people with constructive criticism, do you think Apple will shovel over tens of millions of dollars in advertising and product placement on their channels or in their shows?

These things are dangerous, the signal from airpod to airpod - travels directly through the brain. No thanks

Cook wants to literally "cook" your brains.

Can you show proof that this is how it works? It's my understanding that it has never been officially released how they connect, but some indications point towards both Airpods receiving signals from the phone individually rather than "communicating" with one another through the brain.

He's right. AirPods are going to be a revenue generator in the billions
Not a fan at all if they are the same form factor as the wired version. Worst I'ver ever worn from a comfort standpoint. They don't stay in and give me an ear and headache within minutes.

I'm sorry to hear that.

For me personally, EarPods have always been the most comfortable earphones to use. I HATE sealing earphones with a burning passion.

The AirPods are what I would call "Classic Apple." The only other things I can say that about in the Tim Cook era is Apple Pay and Touch ID (which started development under Jobs).

Most of their other products have been refinements and evolutions which are fine, but there have been major issues (especially on the Mac side of things as of late). The iPad version of iOS is lagging so behind what it should be its getting almost embarrassing, Siri is becoming the laughing stock of the AI world and Apple's product lines in general are completely unfocused.

Walked into the local Apple Authorized Store (we don't have an Apple Store in Victoria, BC, which boggles the brain) and bought a new pair of AirPods. Loving them so far. Without the cords, you almost forget you're wearing them. Nice.
