It's the typical bias from a western company. Yes, in the US, maybe there isn't that much demand for the plus model. However, the opposite is true in Asia. There's a reason why Samsung is raking in money for their Galaxy Note lineup, and their larger Galaxy S models. Apple, as good as they are, maybe will need to start having local executives in local market to understand the local consumer behaviors.

Oh stop this. Every year, you use the "demand was more than we expected" excuse for the months long delays.

^^^^ Can't love this comment enough. Went from a 4S to a 6, and HATED the size. The small candy bar form factor is great for a phone. Skipped the 6S & 7. I used to upgrade annually until the iPhone started growing in size. Got an SE when the 7 was rolled out and I realized that a top spec small phone would be a long time coming. Going to stick w/ the SE until an updated small form factor iPhone is released.

Not everyone wants to lug around a tablet sized phone. I would gladly pay the same price for an SE that has the small form factor, but similar internals as the top of the line phone.
We need to band together to scream loud enough for Apple to hear us.
They were already surprised by the popularity of the SE even though it did not have all of the 6s specs and features.

Apple wasn't "surprised" by the popularity of the SE. Apple won't spend time making a product just because. They know there's a segment that would like the SE. The ones who were surprised were the tech bloggers who made up news and only reviewed large flagship Android phones..

As for popularity of larger phones, it's more popular in emerging/Asian markets than US. So this news doesn't mean Apple will only make plus phones, it's just that they now have better projection in inventory allocation for the region.

Try going to the gym or a hike with a gargantuan device. I love my iPhone 7 but take my SE to the gym and carry it with me far more than the Plus.

This is EXACTLY my problem with plus models. Obviously the Plus is a superior device to use but I hate the larger footprint especially in the front pocket of jeans or pants. If you're walking around with baggy Fred Durst pants circa 1999 this might not be an issue but for anyone wearing slim fit pants(not skinny) these phone sizes become annoying.

I find it amusing how the small phone afficiandos use any difference to further their belief that small screen phones are better (for them). Reality is most people have no idea or care about camera differences, we've all just got used to larger screens and the plus really isnt that much larger than the non-plus model once you get used to it.

This is the same argument about a 13" laptop vs 15" laptop or even a iMac vs Desktop. You can't ignore people's wants in form factor.

Okay, they were not "surprised", but they simply did not produce enough to meet the demand.

Sometimes I find it annoying to feel the 6s in my pocket, the plus model would be even worse and that's the main reason why I'm sticking with the 4.7'' model.
It is a problem during summer because I'm not wearing a jacket, so the only place I can put the iPhone is on my pant's pockets.
During my commute I come across a lot of people and the plus model is owned most by women. They always have a purse, so the don't have to squeeze that thing into a pocket.
I should have a plus for winter and an SE for summer, but it'd cost a little bit you know :D

That is why the iphone 8/x/edition is essential for apple, it ' ll give you the size of the iphone 7 with a bigger screen.
I, for one, can' t wait for the + version with a 6.2 to 6.3 inch screen.

That's all I want from next iPhone.
OLED is not a big deal to me, but having all the plus feature (bigger display and dual camera) with a size similar to iPhone 7 would be great.

Yep I feel the same way as I have a 6 and thats even a bit large(thought the thinness is great). I've been considering a 4.7"' at some point though not sure if I want to go that small. As you said it really depends on the situation. If I'm driving in my car and using the GPS then the Plus is going to be the best but for just walking around in the summer the 4.7" is king.
