Apple CEO Tim Cook has made the list of TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2022, earning a spot in the "Titans" category. TIME shares this list every year, showcasing the most influential celebrities, executives, actors, musicians, and more.

Tim Cook has made the list many times in the past, including just last year. In 2022 he's featured in the "Titans" category, and other categories include "Artists," "Innovators," "Leaders," "Icons," and "Pioneers."

Tim Cook's profile on the list was written by Laurene Powell Jobs, who celebrated Cook's tenure as Apple's CEO and the "compassion and discipline" he shows as the head of the company.

Apple is Tim Cook’s life’s work, and in this work, Tim displays mastery. Tim has demonstrated more range in his leadership of one of the world’s largest companies than any contemporary CEO. Since Apple’s products and policies affect the very character of contemporary life, Tim’s job demands not only business wisdom but also philosophical wisdom. The intense pressure of setting and executing Apple’s progression with deep precision, and of taking responsibility for the company’s effects on society, is almost unimaginable. Yet Tim does it with compassion and discipline, turning to nature to replenish his spirit. In the summer he can be found hiking in our national parks, buoyed by the majesty of the mountains.

After more than a decade at the helm, Tim has carved out a place as not only one of the world’s most admired CEOs but an exemplar of moral leadership, technological imagination, environmental stewardship, and humanitarianism. To paraphrase a famous speech by Theodore Roosevelt: Tim strives valiantly, dares greatly, and spends himself in a grand cause.

Other notable people on the TIME 100 list this year include Simu Liu, Zoë Kravitz, Michelle Yeoh, Zendaya, Amanda Seyfried, Oprah Winfrey, Mary J. Blige, and Quinta Brunson. You can see the full list on TIME's website.

Congratulations and outstanding job Mr. Cook.

But I'm ready for a new CEO to take over Apple. Give Mr. Craig Federighi a chance before he departs from Apple.
Then we had this previous article

Apple CEO Tim Cook was this week awarded 667,974 restricted stock units or RSUs worth more than $76 million at Apple's current price, according to a filing with the SEC. The first half of the RSUs are set to vest in one-third increments in 2023, 2024, and 2025, so Cook will receive 111,329 shares every April starting in 2023.

I would like to see Laurene Powell Jobs as a CEO of Apple.
She probably don't want it, or who knows?
She is a an awesome business woman and would be a great fit today imho :apple:

Tim have made a great job expanding Apple, but we need something else now.

Here come the people who claim he’s not influential while at the same time being influenced to constantly complain about him
That can hold water. For the former, it could be a case where he's not doing enough for consumers (after all, they are a $2 trillion companay. I've been on MR long enough to have seen quite a few complaints about Apple). For the latter, he's still CEO and his decisions continue to affect those who use Apple products.

You pay close enough attention to any company and you’ll find plenty of complaints being levelled at them. You can’t please all the people all the time, but you can certainly please a lot of people a lot of the time and the numbers don’t lie on Cook’s performance there. Dude holds sway, and the barrage of Monday morning apple quarterbacks are as much proof of that as the company’s global dominance is.

“…And a visionary who guides the company path without having to ever use any of his company devices”. The “phone” interface of the “smart phone” is more primitive than a 20 years old dumb phone, and a long list of stagnation.

Kind of an odd selection of other notable people, MR. Love most of them but...do any of these have any relevance to tech or Apple beyond a few having some connections to Apple TV+?

Cook is and has always been a leader for Apple. Most impressively, he led this company through a pandemic with record breaking quarters, made adjustments where needed and placed Apple in a position to release some outstanding products.
The only thing he perhaps is too trigger happy is buybacks. Instead of reinvesting on making manufacturing cheaper or nearshoring it.

Cook has done an outstanding job being responsible for roughly 160,000 employees, releasing products such as the Mac Studio Ultra offering amazing performance, and producing record-breaking financials. All during a once in a hundred year pandemic.

Here's another interesting review of the Studio Ultra. Notice how performance pretty much straight lines with number of cores employed, unlike Intel powered computers due to inefficiencies.

I see your point, but in general as a leader and coordinating Apple on a global level, he’s done well, even when the ‘Tim Cook needs to go’ naysayers were proven wrong again….again…..and again. He’s executed above and beyond, especially over the last two years.
