I ordered 6+ Gold 64GB on Sept 12 16hrs after it's preorder time with delivery date from Oct 13-20, but it's shipped on Sept 26. I got it on Oct 2nd. What's wrong with others?
I just ordered a second one , 6+, Grey, 64GB on Oct 3 and delivery day is Nov 3-10, but expect it to be shipped some time this week and receive by the end of this month.

Advice: don't order through carrier, but Apple.

Similar experience here, ordered mine two days after launch. Was estimated an 3 week wait, arrived 4 days later.

Friends who have ordered via their carriers are still waiting.

why do they have to do 1 months...why is it that they couldn't? Couldn't they just mass produce for 2-3 months and hold it till announcement? what is it that keeping them from producing few months away?

I'd guess the physical storage space and the security needed for a stockpile of millions of iPhones for several months would be costly, and unrealistic.

It;s difficult to operate when there's a peak 'christmas' style demand for something, especially when you just can't hire unskilled labour for a few weeks, and even then, you'd need a new factory for them to work in, which would probably sit idle for at least half the year.

I see what you're saying, but I would hope orders are shipped on a first pre-order, first serve basis. But I wouldn't want Apple to hold back from rolling out in other countries to allow others to start pre-ordering.

Well, that makes one of us. It's really pissing me off to hear about the new carriers and other countries being added while I still can't get a phone here. I pre-ordered on 9/21 and am still 10-14 days away. My wife can't even get a 64gb 6 anywhere in town. So yeah, it pisses me off some guy in India will be able to walk into a store and leave with his new phone before I get mine.

Apple should at least fulfill the damn pre-orders first before stocking stores in other parts of the world.

It would be interesting to know how many people switched back from Android because of the larger screen.

Count me for that, I got the Droid Charge way back when because I wanted the bigger screen and LTE that Apple didn't offer.

The thing is, is it really worth quoting "fastest roll-out ever" every iPhone release though?

Why not strip back with the countries, and give demand to the countries that need it the most. Allocate stock properly, and catch up quicker.

Whilst it's not entirely fair for more countries to wait longer.. but you catch my drift right?

While I can't wait to get my new iPhone, I CAN wait to get it. I live in Hong Kong and I've been on the wait list for 4 weeks. I'm pretty sure Tim Cook and his operations team are very good at inventory allocation. After all, it's in their best interest to ship as many iPhones as possible before quarters ends.

Ok I must be one of the lucky ones. I walked into a busy Apple retail store 1 week after launch and asked a rather busy salesperson if they had any 6's in stock. He asked me which one I wanted, and within 10 minutes I left with a new iPhone 6. No rushing, waiting, standing in line, or hassle. My only waits were 1) waiting to talk to the salesperson, and 2) waiting for my new phone to be delivered from the stock room.

I could have had a 6 like... twelve times by now. If finding an iPhone 6 Plus was going to save my life, I'd be long dead by now.

I ordered a 6 Plus for my wife and it took about 3 weeks for her to get it. I mean, we didn't need a new phone so it's not really a big deal to me. Her 4s was still kicking along.

I'm waiting until Apple starts to sell the unlocked iPhones in December and then I'm buying one. At first I wanted a Plus, but after playing with my wife's for a few weeks, I have come to realize that it's too big for me. She carries hers in her purse, but it's too big for my pocket really and it looks bulky in my suits... like I have a mini bible stuffed in there or something. And that's not evening including the Mophie charger that I would put on it.

7-10 days you say? I ordered an iPhone 6 (not the plus) from AT&T and they told me I would need to wait 3-4 WEEKS. Don't know if ordering a 64G silver version has anything to do with the long wait... I'm just hoping that I'll get a surprise and receive it sooner than expected.

The 6+ in sizes larger than 16GB seems rather non-existent in stores. Especially space grey. I too, am running a script and it's found nothing.

Check the numbers - iPads account for 13% of Apple's sales.
Hence the demand is not as high/they are easier to get.

Big demand for new iPhones despite the 'ramped-up' production.
That means waiting.

Ordered iPhone 6+ 128 from Apple 10/1 - expected delivery was early Nov.
I may or may not get it earlier.
Am I crying?
No, because I was well aware of the short supply and the wait time when I ordered.

Sometimes you gotta wait for things and sometimes there isn't enough stock of popular items.

Oh and FYI I am a heavy iPhone user and I'm upgrading from a 4S/64GB.
My first iPhone update in three years.

I walked into a store and left with mine on day 1 in the US. There wasn't even a line after 10am. You may want to reconsider your own methods.

The iPhone 6 has not "mostly available at Apple's own stores" in the UK, apart from the 16GB version - and even that disappeared last week as the China rollout approached.

FWIW - the 6+ is probably about the same size and battery life as a 6 with a Mophie.

I got a 128GB 6 for my wife cause her 64gb 5S keeps getting used up with our daughters photos videos. We're both not happy with the size bump. I realise there is a demand for a larger screen but the 5S is perfect for us and so many others. They could of released the 6plus and an updated 5S size. If there was a choice I'd love a new 5S with 128GB and A8.

The size they so proudly boosted about just a year ago is now abandoned, ignoring it worked perfectly for so many customers all these years. To make it worse they even removed the 64GB 5S from the store for those who prefer it's size.

They should release a version like the sports car version in their line up. 5S size, 128GB, latest CPU, same thickness as current 5S with thicker battery which resolves the protruding camera issue (so unnecessary if you ask me in the 6). Make the antenna out of stainless steel again like the 4 as my 5 antenna dents like play-dough when dropped.

Not sure, but it seems to me that the 5/5s was more of an after thought, and the 6/6plus is where they meant to head all along.

...

if the iPA2 is not up to spec for me, I'll wait until stock comes balances out on unlocked phones and see if I want to go back to an iPhone soon or wait until this time next year for the 6s.

I was lucky both times I briefly had a 6, got 1 the day I went to AT&T and waited 45 minutes and 20 minutes for a Verizon 6 at Apple 5th avenue using personal pick up. These were both for the 6.

Whatever the case, I am in no hurry now. And maybe the software issues will be ironed out by then too.

I hope Apple gets the supply issue sorted soon and everyone gets their phones sooner rather than later.

Those times are ordering from Apple site for the most part.

As a former Apple Employee I can tell you this is TRUE Had my iPhone 4,4s & 5 before we started selling to public

How long before selling to the public?

What does Apple expect... "A song a dance routine" ??

Give it a few more week, and everything with become stable.

It's like this every event... you order.... 3-4 weeks shipping...... but if your patent and wait a month or two, the order the shipping times are 24 hours.

Could be "longer than normal" with the iPhone 6's, but why would that really matter ?? It's a big(ish) phone, more people want it..... No secret there.

That explains it so everybody gets it

That's great, except ... well, how about I just re-post here what I just posted there:

Now you're the one only telling half the story. Megapixels aren't everything, but they ARE important. How about these use cases:

- Cropping. Say you take a picture with your 16Mp camera, but once you get it on your computer you realize you only want to keep a small portion of it. You can crop out 75% of that photo and still have a 4Mp image. Try that with your 4Mp camera.

- Detail. This is related to cropping, but even if you don't crop your image, if there's more data you can zoom in and see detail you'd miss with fewer pixels.

- The new Retina iMac with a 5k screen? Oops, now you "need" a 5Mp camera.

- Future-proofing. This goes back to the iMac point. Some day we're going to have gigapixel display walls. Sure would be nice for our grandkids to see their grandparents old photos on one of those walls without the photos being all chunky and pixelated. You can always remove detail, but you can never add it if it wasn't there to begin with.

In short, selling on megapixels with an inferior sensor is pointless. However, with all other things being equal, more pixels is better than fewer.

Back on-topic: I ordered a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus in space grey from TELUS corporate on September 24 and I don't have it yet. The wait on telus.com at the time said 4-6 weeks, and I believe it still says 4-6 weeks. I hope I get it some time in the next two weeks.

True, though I think it's more so the thought that even though some of us in the US has already given money to Apple while there is some random guy in India who gets to walk into an Apple store get his 6 Plus day one while I have to wait a month. I already paid $850 + tax for my phone, I should feel a little entitled to get my phone before some random guy in India who ordered weeks after I did. This isn't a charity.

You'd have an argument if Apple released in every country at the exact same time. They launched first in the US, they should be focused on catching up to US demand before spreading supply thin with more countries.

Did you really pay Apple? If so, they've broken the law. They can auth your card to make sure you have the money, but they can't actually "settle", i.e. charge your card, until 24 hours before the product is ready to ship.

The point is, it's very unlikely that you have paid $850 for your phone if it isn't at least imminently about to ship. I've ordered a 6 plus too and have been waiting for it for a month, but the charge hasn't appeared on my credit card yet either.

Then again, I'm from Canada so I'm obviously stealing a more deserving American's phone. Except of course that Apple launched in Canada on the same day. Maybe the Chinese deserve iPhones as much as we do, especially since they're the ones building them.

mine arrived on launch day before I woke up. it was awesome. I see some of you have month long shipping waits? why would you order via carrier when you could cut out the middle man?

those of you doing so because its your business phone. that's different I get that. has anyone checked eBay? if my ATT 128 Gold 6+ is being sold for over 900 I'll totally sell mine!

The business phone thing is a valid point. I got $400 to switch from Rogers to TELUS, and my bill is probably going to drop by about $80 per month. So yeah, I can wait a little bit of time for my shiny new phone to show up.

I'd guess the physical storage space and the security needed for a stockpile of millions of iPhones for several months would be costly, and unrealistic.

Not to mention the sheer stupidity of the whole thing. You have tons of iPhones which people are waiting for and you are not selling them because ... of no reason at all.

Just visit the local Apple store and employees were secretive about if any shipment have come out today or not? Of if they have to shipments a day! They said that the only think they could disclose is if they had any iPhones available. Other then that they said that they don't know when shipments come each day! They say nobody in the store could tell me that info. LOL!

China PBOC need them for resale so they can make some dough!

huh? they still sell 4" sized phones. brand new.

Make the antenna out of stainless steel again like the 4 as my 5 antenna dents like play-dough when dropped.

hmm, or just dont drop it. or get a case. cuz, you know, aluminum things get dented when dropped onto harder things like pavement.

If you read what I wrote I did acknowledge that and they've always sold old phones. They are exactly that, old phones with out dated tech.

Just don't drop it, oh never thought of that. I've always dropped phones regardless of phones, thats why they do drop testing and bending testing as demonstrated when they opened their lab up to press. I only noticed that when I dropped the 4 and 4S, it would like scratch slightly on the steel frame. The aluminum molds when it impacts. Anyway all those are just suggestions after observing all the phones they've released.

Don't think so...my tech friend at an Apple Store said ....

Some of the electronic guts for European, Indian and Chinese iPhones are different. So they are really NOT taking US supply - only those manufactured for each foreign market.

You STILL don't get it, do you? You were able to pay for the phone first because Apple opened pre-orders in US first. If Apple had opened pre-orders in China at the same time, that people in China would have paid at the same time as you did.

So basically you feel you should get it first because Apple decided to open preorder to US first. Well, guess what, Apple has now decided to divert the stock to other countries first. So at the end of the day, it is Apple's decision.

Like I said, would you have prefer to have US last for pre-orders instead? To you it might not matter but millions of Americans have already got theirs.

It simply isn't good business to only satisfied the US customers first and leaving everyone out. Yes, the phone is in short supply. But it is better to have 50% of US having theirs and 30% of China instead of 80% US and 0% in China.

I ordered a 64gb plus today at the AT&T store and the order email says estimated ship date of 12/03 to 12/12/2014.
