have this same problem with my wife's phone till i signed up for office 365 and get the onedrive app. after it uploaded all the photos/videos to onedrive i deleted from the phone and we can access old photos/videos thru the app

Yeah thats a good solution and being in the I.T profession I wondered if Apple's mind set is that the future is cloud storage based which explains the silly 16GB version. The only issue is I live in a country with third world internet speeds and data caps in our HOMES not just our carrier. Our carrier data limit is 1GB a month.

Enough of this ****...5S with iPhon6 specs. May 1 out of 10 million people is still interested in that.

Yeah sorry to upset you, this bs was muttered for years in the opposite way, and my friends claim I'm the Apple fan boy lol. I've had every single iphone iteration, they were all the same size with the 5 stretching but maintaining the width. You seriously telling me since 2007 til now Apple's had it wrong with their size? No where did I say they shouldn't make a larger one, I am only suggesting they make one that continues the size that's worked great all these years.

I think it'd be a sad day if I was 1 in the 10 million who is questioning Apples ad not so long ago with a thumb reaching each corner of the iPhone 5. Just cause Apple sold 10 million doesn't mean its the perfect phone, hell I was one of those 10 million, with friends who also feel the same. Why did we buy it anyway, cause we have no choice, we aren't about to move to android for this reason.

But hey, if I ever want to reach maximum fan boy level I'll be sure to remember not only do I need to buy their product, defend it with every last breath but also, block any opinion and feedback from existing customers.

As a former Apple Employee I can tell you this is TRUE Had my iPhone 4,4s & 5 before we started selling to public

Makes sense. Customers have questions. Store employees are better able to respond if they had an opportunity to use the device.

These kinds of posts really bother me. Should the entire world wait until every American who feels entitled has received their iPhone before they become available in other countries?

I'm from Southern California so I know the personality types that feel they 'need' their new shiny phone, but you can wait. Just curious, how would you determine which countries 'need' the phone the most?

True, though I think it's more so the thought that even though some of us in the US has already given money to Apple while there is some random guy in India who gets to walk into an Apple store get his 6 Plus day one while I have to wait a month. I already paid $850 + tax for my phone, I should feel a little entitled to get my phone before some random guy in India who ordered weeks after I did. This isn't a charity.

You'd have an argument if Apple released in every country at the exact same time. They launched first in the US, they should be focused on catching up to US demand before spreading supply thin with more countries.

Honestly, Apple should just save themselves the headache and release US LAST. Since US takes so much of the stock, if they delay US, they can satisfy demand for the rest of the world. I am sure the Americans would love that.

You are just some random American who got to pre-order first because Apple put US in the first batch of countries. Stop thinking you are somehow special and should be entitled.

Yes, Apple did launch in the US first, but they are also allocating stock to other countries.

Not sure what the arrangement with the U.S customers are, when I ordered mine, they took my credit card details and stopped there. When the phone was shipped and on its way, I got an invoice by email. When I received the phone, my credit card was charged.

ipad air 2 will be a big seller in the next month or so since we are upon the holiday season again but as i've been saying you can get the iPad air 2 much faster then a 6 plus.

Frankly, with a 1 month wait, they might as well have released in the US last. I don't think I'm special. I DO feel entitled if I spent the money first. Like I said, this isn't a charity drive. People are paying for these phones. This isn't me as American saying I should get free donated food first from a worldwide relief company over other people from around the world.

The same thing applies for other countries. I can't complain about poor availability of a phone like a Oppo Find 7 if the dude in the home country, China, still hasn't gotten his pre ordered phone yet. I don't think that I, as some random American guy, should get my Find 7 first when I ordered weeks after that guy in China did. End of Story.

We all want our new phones. It's not my fault Apple has $h** supply.

The thing is, is it really worth quoting "fastest roll-out ever" every iPhone release though?

Why not strip back with the countries, and give demand to the countries that need it the most. Allocate stock properly, and catch up quicker.

Whilst it's not entirely fair for more countries to wait longer.. but you catch my drift right?

Yes and no. You can't play favorites with the US. China will surpass us as the largest economy sometime in the next decade or two. And the EU is nothing to sneeze at, either. It's better for Apple to spread the wealth a bit.

I bought walk in at an AT&T store, because I was terminating the contract on my current iPhone, I just paid for it at the spot.

May I ask why you think this?

They are the first "big" iPhones. It's hard to imagine a change as radical as this that would attract Android owners.

----------

It's hard to believe this caught Apple "Off-guard". If so, whom ever is in charge of production should be demoted. Completely amateur and not representative of a company ranked 5 in the Fortune 500.

From the boardroom "What happened to production? Well sir, oops. <laugh> We completely underestimated the demand. All of our focus groups pooh poohed the phone, so we decided to make a limited run"

Complete BS.

It didn't, but Apple still can't repeal the laws of physics. Only so many phones can be produced at a time.

----------

New ipad air 2 still has 2 days shipping estimate.

So I'm assuming, that's not flying off the shelves..

Or that they had ample supplies. iPad is a maturing market, and it's easier for them to predict demand.

Thank god they only put 1GB of RAM in those ..imagine the wait if ....

Quite right

Because you know, doctors, lawyers, drivers, teachers, artists, millions and millions of people out there..... are MacRumors nerd type and they base they decision on the amount of RAM? If you say so.

I got a 128GB 6 for my wife cause her 64gb 5S keeps getting used up with our daughters photos videos. We're both not happy with the size bump. I realise there is a demand for a larger screen but the 5S is perfect for us and so many others. They could of released the 6plus and an updated 5S size. If there was a choice I'd love a new 5S with 128GB and A8.

Agree, whilst everyone was clambering for more screen real-estate I was happy with the size and am now left with a classic 1st world problem, my phone peeks above my shirt pocket :(

mine arrived on launch day before I woke up. it was awesome. I see some of you have month long shipping waits? why would you order via carrier when you could cut out the middle man?

those of you doing so because its your business phone. that's different I get that. has anyone checked eBay? if my ATT 128 Gold 6+ is being sold for over 900 I'll totally sell mine!

What you needed to do, Apple, was to start producing at least 3 months ahead...NOT ONE MONTH.

You just changed the whole dynamic of manufacturing, Steve Cook.

That's daft. Apple didn't start producing three months earlier, because they couldn't. The phone wasn't ready to go into production at that time. If they had been able to start producing three months earlier instead of one, they would have started selling two months earlier. But since they couldn't start earlier, to follow your wishes the phones would have gone on sale two months later, which wouldn't have helped anyone.

why do they have to do 1 months...why is it that they couldn't? Couldn't they just mass produce for 2-3 months and hold it till announcement? what is it that keeping them from producing few months away?

What do you use phone camera for, print graphic poster with 3 ft x 5ft size? The best you can do with a phone camera is posting those pictures on social network and maybe some screen savers on monitors which 99% are not retina display.
Stop the MP ******** on the phone. Really, it's useless beyond 5MP.

The iPhone 6 has an 8 MP camera with a very reasonable pixel size. What it also has is massive processing power built into the camera, which isn't matched by any expensive camera that you can buy. Taken together, the camera is capable of making much better pictures than you claim.

Sure they could have mass produced for three months.
If they had decided to do that, we would still be looking forward to the release of the iPhone 6.

On November 10th, lots of people would get an iPhone 6 on the day it is released. By starting selling earlier, on november 10th, lots of people will already be owning their iPhone 6 between 0 and 2 months.

So how would that better in any way?

You STILL don't get it, do you? You were able to pay for the phone first because Apple opened pre-orders in US first. If Apple had opened pre-orders in China at the same time, that people in China would have paid at the same time as you did.

So basically you feel you should get it first because Apple decided to open preorder to US first. Well, guess what, Apple has now decided to divert the stock to other countries first. So at the end of the day, it is Apple's decision.

Like I said, would you have prefer to have US last for pre-orders instead? To you it might not matter but millions of Americans have already got theirs.

It simply isn't good business to only satisfied the US customers first and leaving everyone out. Yes, the phone is in short supply. But it is better to have 50% of US having theirs and 30% of China instead of 80% US and 0% in China.

Thank you. Just what I was thinking. Nobody "needed" the phone most. I'm lucky that I live in the US, and that I got mine on launch day. And I didn't order it until Saturday afternoon. But the arrogance of those who would devalue someone else's chance of getting one for their own self interest is pretty disgusting.

To those non-US citizens on this board: My apologies at the selfish arrogance of some of my fellow US citizens. I believe you all deserve your iPhone as soon as possible.

Except for Ireland. You guys suck... (Just kidding!!)

Wow. Are you one of the people who laugh at companies who have stock building up in warehouses?

Deserve? lol thats a laugh!

I don't know about people ordering through carriers, but ordering from Apple would put you on a month plus wait to get your device. I ordered the unlocked 6+ and was in the 6-8 week window originally, it has come down by about a week since then. I don't think the non-plus iphone 6 has that long of a wait, just the 6+.

I doubt we ever see a Phone sell as well as the 6/6 Plus again.
never say never - there may one day be an MS surface phone - :)

Not surprised, the bigger screen really helped them in that regard..
I think apple lost a large number of customers to android due to their adamant refusal in increasing screen size! glad they u-turned their position as i absolutely love the iphone 6plus

Oh YES! OF COURSE!

Tim Cook told everyone in China to stop manufacturing iPhones while he told the world how successful the iPhone 6 was!

Honestly, I wonder if people even THINK before posting here.

nope mindless dribble here ;)

I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus (64gb Space Grey) through AT&T the same day they were released and my expected ship time is 11/21/2014 to 12/03/2014.

Bull ****.

ordered day one, vodaphone promised delivery on release day! Order magically self cancelled twice - so got 3 months (/24) free (@£60/month) and free upgrade from 64-128gb; so quite :D

So why exactly should Apple cater to you? As you said, they already have your money/sale.

A real camera from 5+ years back is still better.

If supply is so tight, then why have there been multiple stores with them in stock? Tim take care of your pre order customers FIRST, absolutley obsurd that others and myself are waiting for preorders from 9/19 and prior but there has been stock in my locale apple store.

Why cant u just cancel the order and head down to ur :apple: store and get one???
