So would Mavericks... :)

Tim Cook is getting lots of practice telling people what they want to hear. Even better they actually believe it. As a company you can't ask for more than blind faith.

I agree with you on Mavericks. And yes I would have said Mavericks would like to have a word with you. But I recently upgrade to Mavericks. I was on ML because Mavericks was really unstable at first but now I upgraded again (clean install of course) and it works like a charm. Much better than it did before...lets see how long it can keep it up

The best iOS for me and many others. Not really sure what your point it.

"many others" doesn't mean everyone. I know quite a few people who cant stand iOS 7 and hell even some of the guys from 9to5Mac criticize iOS 7. Just saying.

iOS 7 has been the most exciting release in a long time for me. And I love it. If you let it... will grow on you. Problem is people a lot of times refuse to accept change, even if it's for the better. They immediately discredit it for garbage.

I couldn't tell it better:cool:

Apple CEO Tim Cook: It 'Means More to Us to Get it Right' Than to Be First

I had many gripes in the beginning, but with the latest updates, everything's running smooth as butter. People are always over-exaggerating about iOS 7 lol. "the guys from 9to5Mac...". Who cares. Buy what you like.

During the question and answer portion of today's financial earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook explained why the company has been slow to put products out in 2014, pointing towards the company's attention to detail and its desire to "perform at a really high level of quality" that Apple's customers expect.

Cook noted that Apple did not ship the first MP3 player, smartphone, or tablet, but he said that the company did release the first "acceptable" and "modern" smartphone, tablet, and MP3 player when it launched the iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

"We care about every detail and it takes us a bit longer to do that. That's always been the case," he said. "It means more to us to get it right than to be first."

Cook pointed towards examples in the marketplace where the clear objective was to be first, possibly referring to Samsung and its poorly received Galaxy Gear smart watch. Apple customers "want great, insanely great," said Cook, and "that's what we want to deliver."

According to Cook, Apple has many products in the pipeline that the company is excited about, but it is not yet ready to "pull the string on the curtain." He did say, however, that Apple has expanded the number of things the company is working on behind the scenes.

Seriously? Not "insanely great". Safari improvements offset by rainbow brite meets aero graphic design hodgepodge. I hate to be a hater--but its clear apple has lost its mojo and it reverting back to mid ninties form. The ipod/iphone/ipad revolution is a once in a lifetime event.

80% of Worldwide market at what cost to profitability? Profits matter, market share is just there for Blandroid cheerleaders to mentally masterbate over. It lets them think they are "winning".

"What ruined Apple was not growth … They got very greedy … Instead of following the original trajectory of the original vision, which was to make the thing an appliance and get this out there to as many people as possible … they went for profits. They made outlandish profits for about four years. What this cost them was their future. What they should have been doing is making rational profits and going for market share." ;)

I'm sorry, but Tim Cook is a lier. Back in 2013, Tim Cook specifically said that Apple will be introducing new products and product categories "across 2014." That quote should've meant that Apple has prepaid a set of new products that they were ready to introduce throughout 2014. However, here we are, in the second quarter of the year, and nothing new from Apple. Today's comment seems to be a confirmation that they still aren't ready to show us the new stuff by WWDC in June.

Seems like 2014 will be the exact same strategy for Apple as the years before; release every product you have within a month or two.

Quote (and source) or else it never happened.

There's quite a lot of people who can't stand it, and think it's just not "right". I'm assuming OP is one of them.

There will be quite a lot of people who will not like anything, regardless. Some people get to comfy with stuff and find it hard to except changes. I am assuming the OP is one of them.

is the man out of his mind?

he is the one that keeps harping on about all the excitement in store for the customers and now after about two years of that he churns out this line.

you cant have it both ways

Oh, I use it every day. It definitely is garbage. The interface design has no detail, and too many flaws. The difference in some GUI parts between 7.0 and 7.1 shows that Apple themselves aren't sure what to do.

iOS6 looks old now, but from iOS1 through 6 you could tell Apple took their time to refine the GUI. iOS7 was slapped together.

Getting it right first, like Maps, iOS7, and iPhone 5C?
Time to take a good, hard look in the mirror, Tim!

Let them make mistakes or they won't be creative. If you can call iOS 7 or iPhone 5C a mistake, even.

It's better they try new things like the 5C that don't sell perfectly, than become paralyzed and unable to do new things.

he also says interesting products fall of 2013.

The iPad Air? The iPad mini with Retina Display? The new Mac Pro?

A lot of side-stepping the question with the same rhetoric. Effective and I wouldn't expect less. But a smokescreen nonetheless.

And Apple, just like every other company cares about putting out what they believe is a quality product. But like every company, sometimes they miss the mark. That's not a condemnation. Not everything - hardware or software - is going to be a hit.

This has always been the Apple deal. Android fanboy friend was going on about stuff Android can do that iOS can't the other day. Pointed out that it's not about being first, it's about doing it right.

Ford Model T wasn't the first automobile.
Nintendo wasn't the first video game system.
Google wasn't the first search engine.
iPod wasn't the first MP3 player.
iPhone wasn't the first smartphone.
iPad wasn't the first tablet.
