In my opinion Apple, Google, etc. should first of all bring money from offshores, pay taxes, so we can have better hospitals, schools, roads and social system. Only after that they have all the moral rights to tell us, government and society their political points of views.

Regardless of your political views, simply try not to pay you personal or your small business taxes.

This is my only opinion, can be different from yours. Please respect each other.

I just wish Tim Cook left Apple already to pursue a career in politics he seems FAR more interested in commenting on. SJW politics aside he knows international markets, trade, especially in china etc. Best for both worlds, he gets to fight for the issues he thinks are important, and Apple gets somebody who isnt Tim Cook.

I personally think it's unwise for business leaders to engage in political activities. Why? Because politics always has two sides. And it doesn't matter which side you're on, there's always gonna be the other side that doesn't like what you do/say. You know what those people may end up doing? They will boycott your products/services.

Business leaders should just stick to their main job: Make profits for their companies.

Agree 100% :) The first time since iphone 2g I wait to see what Samsung offers soon. Do not want to say that I want to buy their product, but some interest is coming.

I miss Qualcomm modem in my iPhone XS Max512, I can pay 20 dollars modem price difference since I paid 1500 already. Give us high quality products and leave politics alone. I hane nothing against Intel, but XS Max reception is a step back for me compare to X.

Hat tip to Mr. Cook for standing up for his DACA employees!

A shame many here do not (or refuse to) understand what that's about.

Tim needs to focus on his products than dealing with politics and worrying about what Trump is doing!

See above. As CEO, he has a duty to stand up for his employees. Ditto for other CEOs. It's not about what trump in general is doing.

Remember when Apple use to make computers, and not self-aggrandizing speeches as it shoves its nose into politics?

See above.

Hey Tim, how about a renewed push for a Mac Pro? It’s been nearly 6 years since we’ve seen any sort of update.

You probably do not understand that large tech company CEOs take on many roles and have many responsibilities. And that Apple's previously announced 2019 release for the MacPro has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Cook advocating for his DACA employees.

vast number of illegals are not from sneaking across the Mexico border but rather overstaying their visitor visa
This is only due to the actual documentation of visa's. There's a paper trail to people overstaying their visa's. There's no paper trail or concrete statistics on actual people smuggling and illegal border crossing. To use the visa statistic, you'd have to get a more realistic statistic on border jumping but unfortunately the US doesn't know how many are actually getting across undetected.

Think you quoted the wrong person ;) You want WannaGoMac

Cook needs to focus on his companies slowed sales and poor manufacturing of products mac book keyboards poor battery in i phone 6 just to name a few and leave the political stuff to the politicians.

Tim Cook has engineers, engineering managers, engineering VPs, etc. to deal with that.

As CEO of one of the largest tech companies, he has a responsibility to advocate and stand up for his employees, including those that are here via DACA.

Tim Cook is an SJW of the worst kind (but in fairness, they’re all pathetic). Instead of a focus on making great products, he spends his days virtue signaling and overall being a leftist goon.

Build the wall now and deport all illegal aliens , Mr. President, or no vote in 2020.

I don't feel like discussing politics today but this picture

Reminded me of this meme

Anyway I got my amusement from the internet for the day.

As a DACA receipt it’s sad to see always threads like this become toxic. I do agree with one of the earlier comments.. where’s these products though :/?

If Timmy put 1/10th as much effort into running Apple as he does into spouting his politics, Apple products really would be as magical as Jony and the rest of the marketing department pretend.

Tim cook … the politician, champion of human rights, advocate of gay/transgender rights, environmental activist … is he still the CEO of Apple?

Well he draws his pay and stock bonuses as CEO. He shows up to keynotes but he speaks as little as possible and looks bored out of his mind and embarrassed to be there. Other than that, I'm not sure he even pretends to phone it in anymore.
